If I could give them ZERO stars i would. Customers, BEWARE. I have filed a complaint with the authorities and respective institutions. Please read the reviews also posted on the BBB website. Their alleged GM, who goes by Doug (and will refuse to disclose his last name) is verbally abusive, and uses tactics of threats to court to intimidate and coerce customers. He likes to cite federal websites and goes as far as claiming he is a federal bona fide agent with the FMCSA (in simple terms, he is merely an employee or contractor of a motor carrier). He has rehearsed his script so much and manipulates verbiage to the point that you may feel cornered if you don't know any better. In the name of justice, I am taking all the necessary steps to ensure he is held accountable for all of his past and current actions. This review is simply an attempt to warn you and spare you of the headache and financial loss.

Extremely disappointed
Extremely disappointed.
We were excited to use this company and both Doug and Zach were easy to work with… the issue came with the actual move. We had asked about any additional costs that would come up, and they said what they quoted would be the cost. They didn’t tell us that shrink wrapping would cost extra, but we decided we needed to do that for a few items, including our couch. When we received them after the move, our black leather couch that we paid $100 to shrink wrap had a huge hole in the back from the movers. We submitted the issue and asked for a reimbursement for the shrink wrap (at least, since that was the whole purpose of doing that) as well as some extra funds since they damaged a nice piece of furniture. Their insurance company gave us $70 (which we still haven’t received a payment). We literally lost money on a nice couch by paying them to wrap us securely - they should have at least reimbursed us the cost of shrink wrapping the item…plus extra for the actual damage to a piece of furniture we can no longer use!
Thankfully we have two friends that canceled their business before moving forward with them, we don’t want them to have the same experience we did! We were just disappointed with the outcome and expected more from this company.
I wish I could post a picture of the damaged couch…

Scamo
Quoted me one price and raised it $800.00 as soon as they got my deposit. That's how they operate. These losers are very nice until they get your deposit. Then they are rude and unresponsive / confrontational to questions and problems. And don't believe the 5 star reviews. "They just ain't real." "They went the extra mile" Nope they didn't... Only one guy showed up to move my stuff inside. I had to help. They were all experienced." Nope and only one spoke English. Broke my stuff and said I'd hafto file a claim. "They handled with responsiveness to our various calls questions and special requirements." Nope, they don't... People don't talk like that unless they're writing fake reviews. "skilled, professional, polite, funny, and personable crew!!" Do you mean the ones' who couldn't even speak English? Even the business' reply's are bogus "Dear Joe, We're truly grateful for your glowing review of First Class Movers."
They are a scam. Here's how the scam works and it's simple. Be nice and collect your $450.00 deposit. They use weird payment methods like Venmo and Paypal or Zell... That's fishy. Next call is rude and confrontational... so you decide to cancel because they're D-Bags. They'll try to keep your deposit and make money with very little effort. If this happens to you sue them, report them. Bottom line is they have way too many perfectly worded 5 star reviews to be real and legit.
And way too many 1 stars to not be fishy. There are No 2 star, No 3 Star, & No 4 star reviews... That's a red flag, people! Don't fall for it. Get references and call your BBB.

First, I spoke with Doug via text and on the phone for a move from VA to FL. Super personable, made me feel comfortable with going with this company. I told Doug I had a 2 bedroom condo. He quoted me $1717.52 & told me it wouldn’t be above $1900.
Sold! I did my $450 Venmo deposit.
The day of pick up came & I was greeted by 3 movers. Super fast/did great. But then came all of these extra charges. The movers said I had more than 300 cf. I said-there’s no way. I got the quote & told both Doug and Elizabeth what I had and both said I’d be fine.
I still paid the money bc the move needed to happen.
I called customer service and was told I’d be given a $200 credit. (Never saw that) I tried calling doug and Elizabeth to see what went wrong. I got a call back from Hilary from the # I had for Doug. I answered-hi doug, she informs me of who she is and I said- I’d like to speak with Doug.she said she’d be able to help. So I tell her I’m being double charged and Doug said it wouldn’t be over $1900.Immediately, she gave me an attitude and told me doug would never say that and she knows he wouldn’t say that bc he’s her husband. She went on and on & wasn’t even listening to me. She said she’d pull the phone recording and get back to me. She never got back to me. Probably bc she found out I was right. Doug finally texted me and asked if I’d still like to speak and I said yes. He never called or texted me again.
I was told by Dana I can file a claim- so I’m in the process of that.
It took the full 14 business days for me to receive my items.
Only 1 man was sent to unload my items, the driver. He was great and I felt bad for him.
He wouldn’t unload my items until he had final payment. (Which the $200 wasn’t taken off & he said I’d have to take it up with first movers)
They only take zelle, cash and money order…even though I paid with Venmo and a check for deposit and pick up. Ended up paying the balance in cash. The driver starts to unload. I tell him the items aren’t mine. He said yes they were- white stickers. I said no it’s not-I had yellow stickers and I numbered my boxes. I showed him my pictures. He confirms with someone that my shipment(3rd drop off)and the 2nd drop off were reversed. So my items were behind someone else’s. He had to spend time moving the other people’s belongings to get to my stuff. While he was unloading my stuff, he was asking if items were mine. My items are in storage so I won’t even know if I have everything for about a year.
It was so unorganized and I’m super disappointed in the way I was treated and lied to. I will NEVER do business with first class movers again and I will spread the word too until this is rectified. Awful, awful, awful!
I googled how many cubic feet is a 2 bedroom condo and it says 400-600. They’re measurements don’t add up. It’s not like I’m the movers-I trusted them and was scammed $1,528.13!! Do yourself a favor and do NOT use them! Photos of my quote, my pick up bill and what they actually moved from my place. Everything fit in my dining room!!
If this isn’t taken care of, I will be getting a lawyer

Abusive marketing practices
Abusive marketing practices by the General Manager, Doug. Won't stop texting after requested. Be careful if you give your phone number to request a quote. They don't like it of you decline and the put effort into letting you know.

At first they seemed legit
At first they seemed legit - not brokers.
We had no furniture just boxes, storage unit, a couple chairs & beds. When we got to storage unit the packer asked us if we had a tool chest & did it have tools in it. We said yes but it’s on wheels. They loaded everything & charged us to put our boxes in wardrobe boxes. Ended up doubling our quote. Then they took everything to a “safe” storage unit in Kent wa for 3 days. I watched with my tracker I put in a box - things were being moved around in storage. Finally get to our house a week later & no one shows to help semi driver unload - we had to unpack the truck with him. I called about this & FCM got mad at me - yelling & calling me names. Finally unpack what was delivered to find tool chest & all tools were gone. All my husbands clothes were gone. Every Seahawks signed memorabilia was gone but they left the display cases they were in. Only 7 of the 10 wardrobe boxes we paid for was delivered. No numbers to check off as they came off truck - also couldn’t because we were unloading the truck! They didn’t offer any other insurance other than 60 cents a lb. Now one of their workers is well dressed with a LOT tools & we’ll get nothing. do not accept theirb list of items - if it says box #122 they wont pay for anything in it. make them list out every item our problem was trusting this company & their workers. What a scam!!

First, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience that you may have experienced. It is never our intention for our clients to be less than satisfied with our services. Being short staffed on delivery doesn't happen often but, like any other business, it does happen despite our best efforts. We understand your frustration with the situation and sincerely appreciate your patience during the delivery process. Regarding insurance options, your estimate, which was signed by you upon booking, clearly states "WARNING: If a moving company loses or damages your goods, there are 2 different standards for the company`s liability based on the types of rates you pay". Full value protection is optional and must be purchased from a 3rd party provider. Basic coverage of .60/lb. is included in the move at no additional charge. Upon pickup, your paperwork included a valuation addendum detailing both options. You chose to waive full value protection and were required to sign, initial, and write out ".60 per pound per article" to confirm your understanding of the coverage selected. A revised estimate detailing any additional charges was signed and approved by you prior to loading the truck along with a final inventory list which you also signed and approved once the truck was loaded. As per the agreement, you are entitled to file a claim to be compensated for any missing or damaged items provided that there is proper documentation supporting the claim. However, there were no tools, toolboxes, or suitcases on you original estimate or final inventory list and we have no record that those items were ever loaded to begin with. There were no missing or damaged items noted on the paperwork at all on delivery. Claims are handled by a neutral 3rd party company in accordance with the contract and cannot be processed without documentation.

Zero Communication If There Are Issues
Communication at the beginning—from getting a quote to scheduling pickup—was good. Not excellent, there were times we reached out to confirm date/time and couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Pickup was in time. Movers doubled the cost from the over the phone quote, but at that point we had no choice but to proceed. We had very few furniture pieces (2 desks, a bookcase, a dresser, large cat tree) and the rest was boxes.
Movers were quick, but not particularly careful. Taking boxes out of the hallway, they tore out a flooring transition piece, said nothing to me, and put it in the closet.
Delivery was where it really went sideways. When we booked them, we were assured they don’t broker out moves, it was all handled by them and our Seattle to LA move was a frequented route for them. They delivered within their estimated window, but the original calls assured us it would likely be 5 days earlier than when they finally arrived. All communication via email to keep us updated on delivery date listed First Class Movers. Movers show up, and can’t take the money order because we made it out to First Class Movers and they were a different moving company. Tried calling original contact to make sure this was legit, no answer.
Delivery was 2 men who seemed ill equipped and were stacking heavy boxes on top of “glass” “fragile” in the street. Boxes were also very beat up on delivery, some with holes, collapsing, etc. This shows that even though I marked boxes “heavy” or “fragile” their priority was to stack boxes high and overload the boxes rather than ensure items made it safely.
Boxes were tagged with numbered labels when they were picked up but many of these labels fell off during transit so it’s impossible to check off all the boxes on delivery. Ultimately, we are missing at least 7 boxes now that we have unpacked. We have tried to reach out via phone, text and email in the hopes someone could attempt to track down our missing boxes and have received zero response.
Also important to note that at no point did the person over the phone address insurance or adding additional coverage for the move, which means filing a claim if successful results in $0.60 per pound of missing stuff. But the charge by cubic feet, not weight, so there’s no way to verify the weight they took compared to the weight they delivered. We’re missing four boxes of books, a box of kitchen supplies and two boxes of makeup/toiletries and are looking at over $3500 of missing items that we may be eligible to recover about $150 of.
And again, once they have your stuff and your money, communication plummets and then ceases completely. This was my first time hiring movers for an out of state move and it has soured me on doing it again. Even trying to make the move as uncomplicated as possible by bringing very little furniture and having it all in boxes didn’t work.

We're sorry to hear that you're not satisfied with the service you received during your move. However, please keep in mind that the terms of your agreement including delivery timeframes, valuation coverage, and charges for additional cubic footage were detailed in the estimate you signed upon booking and again on the paperwork you signed at pickup. It is your responsibility to read and understand these terms prior to signing. Your estimate clearly states that any cubic footage not on the inventory will be charged at the same per cube rate. The price doubled onsite because you had twice as many items including 48 additional boxes that were not on your original inventory. You were provided a revised estimate onsite including all additional charges, which was signed and approved by you prior to loading the truck. In addition to being explained on your estimate, you were also provided a valuation addendum which you signed and initialed to confirm the option you chose onsite, which was the basic coverage included in your move. Per your agreement, you are entitled to file a claim for any missing or damaged items but we have no record that any issues were reported on delivery by phone, email, or otherwise, and can't address what is not known. Please follow the instructions we sent you via email to file your claim and we'll be happy to do whatever is needed to facilitate the process.

Owner is not good people
I received a cold text about a move that was not happening, assuming it was a bot text I replied in all caps “no one is moving to Ohio” apparently the owner felt this was rude and deserved threats of signing me up for Scientology and Mormon texts and calls. After a bit of back and forth the threats continued, I told him I would be reporting him to home office. Unfortunately he is the owner so that was a moot point. After leaving a voicemail he felt that he has one upped me by knowing my name but having none of my data correct. He called and threatened to dox me, advised that I need to get a federal attorney and he would be suing for civil extortion, all because I asked for his name. He also recorded our call without advising me, both California and Washington are 2 party consent states so in addition to doxing me he broke the law in 2 states. I appreciate that he is “trying to protect employees from rude customers” but as I was not a customer, and received unwanted messages the simple thing for him to do would be ignore it. But Mr Chris Smith cannot handle people who are sick of cold calls.
Any owner who threatens to dox and illegally records phone conversations is not someone you should do business with. He will also be paying to remove this review.
