This was the worst experience imaginable. The quote we received and the front end customer service made us feel like we were picking a solid moving company. However, the day of, the movers told us it would cost double what we were quoted, charged us a long carry fee even though I'd specifically confirmed it would not be charged based on where the elevator was in our apartment building. Our things were loaded into a warehouse, then moved again into an 18 wheeler truck and brought up to our new town, only for them to tell us we had to pay another $900+ for a shuttle to transport our things to our street, and then on top of that, many boxes of important things were missing, living room items and my daughters mattress. It was a nightmare. They did not unload a single item until we had paid everything in full - totally shady. When my husband called to express frustration, the foreman cussed him out, threatened him for complaining and said he was going to sue us and that he would make us pay. He said we had poked the bear and that we'd get the teeth and that we'd regret the day we dared to mess with him. It was ridiculous. Steer clear. Do anything else. Get a shipping container, do it yourself with uhauls and a Lugg team. Never hire this company.

Headache
This is a horrible company located in Springfield, Illinois. They first gave me an estimate over the phone but needed $450 deposit first. And when the movers came to my home to do the packing, the final price was double than the original quoted price. But the worst thing was that I asked for reserve of a whole truck. But it turned out they were lying. They moved my stuffs from the original truck to a different truck. Thus, with this extra moving from truck to truck, eight pieces of my furniture got severely damaged like a broken coffee table, a broken dresser mirror, an end table damaged on top with a large piece of the surface got chipped off etc. I had to fill out a long claim form to a different company called CSI. I don’t know when will they get back to me because the company said I cannot find someone to repair it yet or throw the boxes away. It is a nightmare to hire this company! I would recommend using You Pack and hiring some local Mexican guys to upload the stuffs to the truck from You Pack where you have more control of your own stuff and less headache.

This person refused to provide the information needed to identify and properly review their account history. We cannot confirm they were even a client and without knowing who they are, will not be able to respond to their complaint specifically. However, we would like to address several points raised in this review to provide clarity and ensure that accurate information is presented
as it pertains to all moves.
Firstly, regarding the estimate, we provide all prospective clients with a quote based on the initial information shared with us over the phone. Our team clearly explains during the quoting process that estimates may change if additional items or services are required on the day of the move. The estimate also lists what is and isn't included in the move.
After assessing the actual volume of belongings and any extra services requested, the final price is adjusted and the client is presented a revised estimate with a breakdown of the new charges. This adjustment is standard practice in the moving industry and was explained upfront.
As for the deposit, it is a common industry requirement to secure a moving date, and this was fully disclosed before the booking was confirmed. We understand the frustration that can come with price changes, but our goal is to be transparent and fair throughout the process.
Regarding the truck, we want to clarify that dedicated trucks are a premium add on service that must be arranged at booking and simply having enough items to fill the truck on pickup is not the same thing. Regardless, we take great care to ensure our clients' belongings are transported safely and securely, as is our standard procedure.
We do want to emphasize that any damages caused during the move are covered by our insurance policies, which is why clients are asked to file a claim. This process is necessary for assessing the damages and arranging appropriate compensation or repairs.
Lastly, while we respect this person's opinion, we take pride in our professional moving services, which adhere to industry standards and best practices. Our team is fully trained to handle moves of all sizes and complexities, and we strive to provide a high level of service to all our customers.

I would give them zero stars if I could. They will quote you a price and then find every way possible to nickel and dime you. They wanted to charge me $900 dollars to take the furniture to the house because there truck wouldn’t fit down the driveway. That’s after they wouldn’t release our stuff after we paid the remaining balance. They said we had to call the company but the company wouldn’t answer. We almost had to call the police to get them to unload our belongings. Absolute nightmare, avoid at all cost, high pressure and don’t return calls after you sign a contract.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear about your experience and regret that it did not meet your expectations. We understand how frustrating and stressful moving can be, and your concerns are important to us.
We strive to provide clear communication throughout the process regarding all costs associated with our services, including any potential challenges with delivery logistics, such as access to a property. Additional services such as stairs, elevator, long carry, and shuttle service are only charged if applicable to the location and therefore not included in the cost of the move by default. This is also the case for additional packing materials and clearly stated in the estimate, pickup, and delivery confirmations.
Regarding the delay in releasing your belongings, it is standard practice to collect payment prior to unloading for the driver's safety and to ensure a smooth delivery. We do not hold items hostage. However, we understand how concerning that situation must have been, and apologize if there was any confusion regarding this.
We are working internally to address how we can better explain these details to avoid any surprises and will review our communication processes to ensure that we are more accessible to our customers in the future.

We slept on floors for over a month
My family and I packed up our Maryland residence on May 28th of this year, and First Class Movers arrived not long after to collect our house. We were informed that it would be out on the next truck heading west to Washington-- from their assurances and the number of locations across the country, we were told it wouldn't be long.
After a cross-country trip starting on the 30th, we arrived on June 4th and situated ourselves in a soon-to-be furnished home. What began as a test of patience became a nightmare as weeks passed, and our furniture was nowhere in sight. We had to resign ourselves to sleeping on the floor and repurchasing essential supplies, costing us hundreds. Reading the contract repeatedly, it was eventually surmised that they had no intention of arriving in a timely manner. Contacting First Class Movers for further information on our house went nowhere, with empty promises of "soon."
After many near-daily inquiries, we were eventually informed on June 27th that a truck was now inbound with our belongings. It arrived on July 10th (an additional two weeks later), and we were greeted with broken furniture and damaged valuables. Unbroken furniture was improperly reassembled and left for us to repair independently. We will need to call a specialist on at least two sizeable, complicated pieces. We cannot recommend this service to anyone, as we do not believe such an important service should be handled in this way.

We recently had an excellent move with First Class Movers for our large household. Our belongings were packed with care and delivered to our new house with no damage( similarly, there was no damage caused to the former or new house). The planned timing for packing, travel between the houses, and the unoacking was perfectly executed. This was our best experience from the 6 relocations we've had during last 17 years.

BEWARE
BEWARE. Their alleged GM, who goes by Doug (and will refuse to disclose his last name) is verbally abusive, and uses tactics of threats to court to intimidate and coerce customers. He likes to cite federal websites and goes as far as claiming he is a federal bona fide agent with the FMCSA (in simple terms, he is merely an employee or contractor of a motor carrier). He has rehearsed his script so much and manipulates verbiage to the point that you may feel cornered if you don't know any better. In the name of justice, I am taking all the necessary steps to ensure he is held accountable for all of his past and current actions. This review is simply an attempt to warn you and spare you of the headache and financial loss. All the good review that you see here are either fake, paid for or is another local company with same name
