I needed to talk to someone ASAP regarding my insurance because the optometrist said "eye med" / unum wasn't verifying I had insurance. So I had to call Unum here, and there's NO ONE TO TALK TO. The irritating automated service asks for your social and DOB, but doesn't even connect you with anyone. It just asks you this info, only to tell you to use a mobile phone to "chat" - why ask personal info if you're just going to push people to a chat? What BS UX. I'm sure your company makes plenty of money so just hire some agents, my god.

The out-of-network claims link is not functioning properly, so I was asked to submit my claim via email, which resulted in two denied claims. One reason for denial was that they were unable to find my name and to contact my HR department, yet they processed another $10 claim with the same information. Also, why is the broken link not being addressed? Since May, I have been trying to get reimbursed. From two phone calls, three email submissions, and now attempting USPS, this has not been a great experience.

The call center is designed to make you crazy. I was finally able to talk to someone. Told me my child needs a visual processing test. They had no idea of what that was. There is no info online about that either. The whole process feels like a maze designed to keep you from getting the information you need.

I had to submit my new eyeglasses documents 3 times, the exact same documents until they sent me a denial of payment because I used an out of network provider (Zenni)!! My insurance gives me over $150 for glasses/contacts, my bill was about $82 and EyeMed denied because my “Maximum Benefit Exceeded”!! They are so full of BS. I truly believe they keep denying people so people will give up. Horrible company. Next Open Enrollment, I’ll make sure my new insurance has nothing to do with EyeMed.

I don’t understand how an insurance company can deny the medical prescription your physician prescribes. Care should be between a patient and their doctor, without all these middlemen getting a cut while reducing your coverage. Instead, they force you to use subpar medication that contributes more waste to landfills, doesn’t work and makes my eyes physically burn and hurt! This is a class action lawsuit in the making. One bottle of Miebo drops is super expensive but works like a charm!!! They deny my second refill and instead send me SIXTY single use disposable containers that burn my eyeballs. Thank you SO much for that. If I could give this company a negative 10, 20 or infinity star review, I would. Shame on you. But hey! At least the executives are getting paid their million dollar bonuses. We get lemons; they get lemonade. Works for one, but not for all. Something has to change with this broken system.

Out-of-network only covers $95.00 and this constitutes as usage of full benefits. Eyemed provides inadequate coverage and is limited in terms of who is in-network.
