unique opportunities but high fees
EquityZen introduced us to another entity that allowed us to succesfully invest in a pre-IPO company. It would not otherwise have been possible to make that investment. We are happy with our investment, but I do feel that the only work that Equityzen did was to introduce an interested buyer to an interested seller, and for that their 5% fee is very high.

Action, Thanks for your comment. You're right, transactions in the pre-IPO space can take awhile -- they involve private companies who can take 30 or more days to review a transaction among other steps. We take these steps to ensure that all transactions are properly vetted. We take your comments to heart though and we will work to do a better job to explain the process and the timing surrounding each step.

Great company
Great company. Do what they say they will. Have never had any issues with communication like others here say they did... but usually only people having an issue come here to post reviews. Bought Palantir in summer 2020 and had a 6x exit in 2021. Currently have Cerebras Systems and trying to get more. Also their prices are the best I've seen.

They make it easy to do a purchase but lack company financial details.
They make it easy to do a purchase. The biggest issue is stale valuations on offerings and not enough financial information to make an informed decision. Often not even the most basic of financial information is available. Like historic revenue, past/future growth, amount of debt,

David Thanks for sharing your experience. You're right, there is not as much information available on private companies as there are on public companies. We do work hard to provide investors with information such as Capitalization Tables, recent news and reports from research providers like Sacra.

More Phone Customer Support
guys, I need a real person to talk to on the phone. The delay of your support email is not efficient for investors who are looking to deploy capital.

We typically respond to all questions within a day or by the next working day. It seems that your last question via our chat was answered within the day. Poor communication from EquityZen…
Poor communication from EquityZen regarding policygenius exit. I invested in Policygenius - Series 1247 fund and policygenius has been acquired last March and till date I have not received any information. I have sent several emails asking for details with no response or email with not much information. I will stop using this platform for future investments.

We are sorry to hear that you are not happy with the information that you have received from us. In regards to the Policygenius investment, while the acquisition was announced in April of 2023, it closed on November 11, 2023. The company was acquired by another private company, Zinnia, in an all stock transaction. There was no gain or loss recognized in this transaction and you now own stock in a subsideray of Zinnia. This information was shared with investors as soon as we had the information from the acquiring company. While information sharing may seem slow, we believe it's best to fully understand the details around mergers and acquisitions in order to share the most up to date and accurate information with our clients.
