Clutch cable replacement nightmare
Clutch cable replacement nightmare I have a DR field and brush mower that I have been using once each year for a couple of days over the past 20+ years. It has generally been a reliable and robust machine, but when I needed to replace the engine clutch cable I ran into a frustrating problems. The first was that after a chat with a DR customer service rep I was told I needed to buy the replacement cable at $42, but also an adapter kit for $166. Luckily I found the replacement cable on Amazon for $25. Swapping out the old cable was really difficult, though, as it hard to get to the engine end of it and it is poorly designed. Motorcycles have a similar need for a clutch cable and they are much simpler and easier to replace.
