We are a small, very simple company, just husband and wife, who have been online for 23 years, writing and selling our own ebooks about dogs.
Recently Draft 2 Digital informed us that we had failed to send them identification documents for their "Know Your Customer" program. Therefore they had taken down our book listings.
We had never heard of this program, but we went ahead and sent the personal identity documents. Then they said we needed to complete an online interview. Which we did. Then they required something official from the government that showed our LLC was incorporated. Which we sent. Then they said what we sent wasn't good enough and they requested more things.
We were struggling to rummage through file folders, make photocopies and screenshots, and attach stuff to emails, all while battling a life-threatening medical crisis.
When it seemed like there was no end in site, we finally told them to just send us the $309 they owed us and then close our account. Their response was "We can't send you your money until you send us all the other stuff." So they're keeping the money we earned.

I am writing this review out of deep…
I am writing this review out of deep frustration and disappointment with my experience dealing with Draft2Digital's KYC process. I believe my situation deserves to be heard by others who might consider using their services.
The way Draft2Digital handled my KYC verification was nothing short of nerve-wracking and, in my opinion, wholly inadequate. I received an alarming email indicating that my account was being closed due to a supposed failure of their mandatory KYC check. This was concerning because I take my financial matters seriously and have always provided accurate information.
What makes this even worse is the lack of clear communication and guidance throughout the process. The initial email was abrupt and left me feeling like I was being accused of something without proper explanation. I tried reaching out to their support team, but the response time was agonizingly slow, and the instructions provided were confusing at best.
While I recognize the importance of complying with tax regulations, being treated like a criminal without proper evidence is unacceptable. I don't take accusations of theft lightly, and I strongly believe that if a company is going to make such claims, they should provide concrete evidence to back them up.
In conclusion, my experience with Draft2Digital's process has left me feeling both sternly frustrated and nervously concerned. I sincerely hope my review serves as a cautionary tale for others considering using their services.

Draft2Digital started well
Draft2Digital started well, but in recent months they acquired lending libraries. What this means for the writer is they'll send our work out free. You'll only get royalty when the book reaches a set number of readers, but as we don't know that figure there is no way of being paid. I've been waiting for seven months for royalties, and I don't think I will get any as they keep giving the books out free

Read Better Business Bureau D2D Reviews First
I will never use D2D again! They taught me for my $47 and some change to read the Better Business Bureau reviews FIRST before using any company especially, D2D. I put in an order 7/9/23. 10 books. I then went to upload another book to the site. Oh, they don't print anything less than 64 pages OR interior color print. Well, I accept that mistake. They eliminated 99.9% of everything I created. It is best to read EVERYTHING possible before doing ANYTHING with them. I IMMEDIATELY sent an email to cancel the order, because they have NO OPTION to change anything on their website. I just wanted to document my simple request to cancel the order. I was talked down to as if I am stupid, that they aren't open Sunday afternoon, but for some reason their printers are. I called 7/10/23 when they opened. I was told they couldn't cancel the order because the printer accepted the order, and it was being printed. As a retired Plant Manager of a printing company, I know the process. I was fed lie after lie to keep my $47 and some change. Their proof was the job was accepted electronically on 7/9/23. Really? I asked them who owns D2D. The printer's computer? Or do they work for the author? No, it's impossible to cancel, the job was being printed. That was all on the 10th. THEN on Friday, the 15th, I received a CONGRATULATIONS YOUR ORDER HAS SHIPPED email. I looked for a tracking number because there was none because they did not bring it to the shipper. More lies. Then...Monday a.m. I checked again. This time it had a tracking number but STILL the shipper had not received it. I got an email from someone later on Monday the 17th. She assured me that even though my credit card company said it showed D2D as a recurring charge every month, that was not true. They don't do that. Thanks for the assurance. They not only charged 2x more than Amazon's ($8) for shipping and handling ($17.28 for 10 books which the P.O. took $10 and some change) the books arrived unlike Amazon's box with paper to protect an order...the books arrived in a cheap attempt to cover them with cardboard. To top that off, the covers were trimmed slightly differently leaving thinner space between the image and the top of the book. Oh, what else? They claim that you have control over your writing. Yes, they have fancy doo dad easy to use formatting once you figure it out such as an Art Deco symbol, Feathers, or something else, yippee. But you cannot control the line spacing. I write my books in 12 pt. font size with 1.5 line spacing for the body and 12 pt. BOLD for the chapter heading easy reading, yet everything came out what looks like 10-point font size and single-spaced. The paper is lighter in weight (not as thick) as Amazon's pages. Overall, for the quality of the book, and cost, I cannot honestly sell these for more than a donation for my time. I am not a fan of throwing books out, so, since I lost the money to these unethical trumpet-blowing wide market profiteers, I will give them to a child who can read without magnifying glasses.

I read these reviews few months back…
I read these reviews few months back and thought these people might have done something wrong. Maybe uploaded a ChatGPT-generated book or is trying to scam the company but in reality, Draft2Digital is a total scam. They delete your account telling you that your books are of low quality. They took away my three months' royalties ($489). Stay away, writers. We have now so many options. Go directly with the publishers. Draft2digital is replaceable.

D2D keeps your money (using tax info as pretext)
D2D is mindful about tax info. I get that. But I recently provided not just my tax info, but every additional document they asked, on time. Still, without warning, my books were delisted, and my account deleted, and D2D now says I did not send them any documents. It is all so surreal. Also, they get to keep all the royalties, they said, unless I provide the info (which I did already). Their emails are aggressive and impolite and I am very sorry to have trusted this company. I wasted time and effort. As another reviewer said, I will report them to the IRS and I suggest if you have been scammed to do the same.
