I am an author from Switzerland and have done nothing wrong for the tax review they did in Q4 of 2023. I've sent all documents in original and was in contact with the support. They just closed my account, we not willing to pay my money out and said it would be my fault. Guys, this company is a scam and the worst of worst, unfortunately I cannot give minus stars for this kind of service to be honest

A Frustrating Experience with Draft2Digital: The Worst Self-Publishing Nightmare -
Draft2Digital, touted as a self-publishing solution, has proven to be nothing short of a nightmare in our recent experience. From a poorly managed Know Your Customer (KYC) process to abysmal customer service, our journey with Draft2Digital has been a series of disappointments.
The KYC process, crucial for establishing trust and legitimacy in any business relationship, turned out to be an ordeal orchestrated by a third-party. We were instructed to submit various documents through a Dropbox-type upload function, which we promptly did. However, the trouble began when we received a barrage of emails to our company email address, cryptically stating that we had a limited number of days to provide identification details without specifying the issues with the documents already uploaded.
Attempting to rectify the situation, we reached out to Draft2Digital on five separate occasions via email, seeking clarification on the problems with our submissions and guidance on how to comply with their KYC requirements. Shockingly, our attempts to establish communication were met with a resounding silence. This lack of responsiveness is indicative of a company that prioritizes opacity over customer satisfaction.
With just one day remaining before our account faced deactivation, our frustration reached its zenith. In desperation, my business partner called Draft2Digital to lodge a complaint and, hopefully, receive guidance on resolving the KYC issues. The manager assured us that he would investigate the matter and provide assistance. However, instead of a resolution, we were blindsided by the abrupt deactivation of our account within 60 minutes. To add insult to injury, we were informed that reapplication was not an option!
This abrupt and unexplained termination of our account raises serious concerns about Draft2Digital's professionalism and business ethics. A company that disables an account without proper communication or opportunity for rectification reflects an alarming disregard for its clients. The actions of Draft2Digital suggest a lack of foresight and a potential recipe for bankruptcy as clients, frustrated by such unprofessionalism, seek alternatives.
In conclusion, our experience with Draft2Digital has been nothing short of a disaster. From an opaque and inefficient KYC process to a complete lack of responsiveness from customer service, Draft2Digital has showcased a blatant disregard for its clients. Self-publishing authors deserve a platform that values communication, transparency, and professionalism – qualities sorely lacking in our regrettable encounter with Draft2Digital. We caution fellow authors to approach this platform with extreme caution, considering the potential risks to their hard work and aspirations as self-published writers. We will never do business with this organisation because we feel that they act as a hinderance to self-publishers; our advice, steer well clear of this organisation.

D2D’s tax interview process needs scrutiny
I am an Australian trying to publish a book primarily about Australian issues. The D2D tax interview process requires that you add a US tax identification number and unless provided there will be 30% withholding rate applied. I tried to enter my Australian TFN but it did not accept. And I’ve made inquiries to D2D for assistance but they have not been answered.
Now looking at alternatives for publishing. StreetLib has a much better process. The wording for their payment process has:
“If you are in a country different than USA or Canada, your personal tax file number/code is required to let us correctly register your invoices.”
This issue needs to be corrected ASAP.

Scammers! stay away!
"They repeatedly instructed me to redo the interview without providing a clear explanation of the underlying issue and the necessity for its repetition. Furthermore, they have yet to process the transfer of my outstanding royalties. In the event of non-compliance, I will have no choice but to pursue legal action to safeguard my rights, filling an IC3 report for an internet scam. I suggest all scammed people do the same. Additionally, I would suggest that new writers NOT upload their books with these scammers!

I had issues setting up my account and…
I had issues setting up my account and I couldn't have found the support team more helpful. They answered my initial email within a couple of hours and sorted it all out. Painless and simple, infinitely better support than I've had from other platforms.

I have had my Draft2Digital account for…
I have had my Draft2Digital account for almost a decade. I have published dozens of books without issue, and they have even gone out of their way to help me fix problems caused by Barnes & Noble. I have never had an issue reaching customer service, or having any questions answered.

D2D - a fantastic alternative for authors
D2D is a fantastic alternative for indie authors. I have a fair number of books with them. Their platform is easy to use and I love the fact that they will even format the book, AND, let you download it for free to use elsewhere.
I live outside the States, and yes, I had to submit the needed forms and it was annoying but understandable. They gave me plenty of time to do it. I love having a lot of platforms to sell my books. Highly recommended.
