Rude cashier and lack of manager support for customer
Went to check out at counter and cashier rudely barked..."empty your basket"
I responded as loudly telling her to treat customer better.
Manager came out and told me to leave and also called local police.
This store can fold as far as I am concerned.

Used to be my favorite store. Will be Removing it from my saved places on Uber and not recommending it for activities van trips for our 80 unit independent living community. Unsafe location for the disable or elderly to shop if they have employees like I encountered on Friday.
I have been fighting major illness, including low dose chemo so getting to DT has not been possible since June. Instead of a happy hunt, was poorly treated by a toilet nazi employee in the back, blocking access to the public ADA restrooms. Seems he had been extremely rude to others as well.
This breaks with normal company policy because I knew a franchisee up north who stated that DT restrooms are usually open to the public. These were posted as such and have signage thanking customers for shopping and to come visit again soon.
Been a Dollar Tree customer since 2006. I know it is hit or miss. This was not the case of an employee having a bad day. This was someone being abusive to the eldery, disabled and in partially female patrons. He even stated so. He took pleasure in it. Not some who should be representing a brand or working retail. So sad when one sees a company representative treat so many customers with disrespect. When customers told him they were going to report him and the store to corporate, he laughed stating corporate wouldn't care. We would be on hold for hours. Well, I am posting a review here & google. I sent in a customer complaint online.
Depending on response I may even write a letter to corporate office. He messed with wrong disabled person. I am just grateful the thrown boxes and his behavior didn't physically cause any injuries. But he definitely violated ADA access law. Throwing boxes around is also a safety issue.
While shopping I needed to use the public restroom, clearly marked and wide open... He cut me off rudely when all I needed was to use the public handicap accessible restroom. He blocked me and my walker shutting the door before I could enter. Saying that customers think their so over privileged to use the restrooms. He said that he didn't have the time or patience to clean after ... will not repeat his rude language. I was just shocked. I know discrimination when it happens, no excuse. Reporting DT, the Store Location to the DOJ after holiday might be a possibility too.
Other employees in the front of the store where directing customers there. But he kept closing, blocking and locking the doors on them. Despite another employee reopening them.
He even said, "you don't look disabled?" Though I clearly was using my new walker and my right wrist in a brace. Those are not hidden. But FYI- I also have only a foot of colon left. Been fighting severe Crohn's since the age of 9. I have the bones of someone near their 70s, so when my other walker broke last month, I broke 4 ribs and messed up the wrist. Still healing, ADA law guarantees access to that public restroom. When I reminded him of that he was rude and dismissive. Later my aide said he had reopened the restroom after all... I rushed immediately... When I returned to her I could cut the tension. Other customers apologized, regulars? Several said they were complaining and heard everything. My aide was livid!
I just really needed a peaceful DT retail experience but was robbed of that because of his horrible demeaning behavior. He even called all Dollar Tree customers trash. My health aide and I were just trying to shop before my body started giving out.
I know other customers heard everything. They were also treated very rudely by him. Before our interaction and afterwards. One even tried to report his behavior to employees at the front. That casher? took his side and started talking bad about us. Even though other customers told her what he was doing.
I was just trying to finish my list in peace. Very poor customer service. Cameras don't lie. Any observant person could tell there were other upset customers. My aide didn't buy her items she was too livid. She said would go to the one near her home to shop from now on.
These employees disrespected the store, the brand, numerous customers, fellow employees who kept sending customers to the back to use the restroom. There was even an elderly gentleman that had to flee to go to another store to find a restroom before he had an accident on the store floor.
Dollar Tree customers are not trash. The disabled are worthy of good customer service and access to public restrooms. Just very sad to see a location going downhill like this. I was so happy when Uber finally came and we didn't have to hear the insults from the rude casher. No immediate follow-up on customer complaints from her.

Went to Dollar Tree store #5895 located…
Went to Dollar Tree store #5895 located in East Chicago Indiana. I've been to this location many of times. At first, the cashier would speak, then the more I went they stopped. Last week I went, had quite a few things. I asked the young lady to double my bags because they always break before I get to my apt. I live on the second floor by the way. She double one, and left the other bag that had just as much in it, if not more. Then she walked away. I had to reach over to get another bag. Then today I go in, get in line to return batteries. I also had other items to buy. I told her I was returning the batteries when I first got there, so she knew. So I'm at the register. I had food items. I was paying half with snap, and the rest my debit card. She seemed upset that I was paying with my debit card because she had to do the transaction over because of the return/ exchange, even though she knew before I began to get ring up. The supervisor or manager comes to clear the transaction so she could ring me up. I bought two 6 bottles of water and another bag of items. I asked her if she could double the bags because they always break. As I picked up one of the bags with the water it started to rip, I wasn't even out of the store yet. She doubled one bag, then when I said the bag is ripping can you double the other two, the ones with the water in it , she seems to have a attitude that I asked. You bagged water, them bags cheap, why should I even have to ask to get the bag doubled. Don't know what's going on at this location, bit why work in retail if you're gonna have a attitude with being ask to do their job.

No A/C in Store #827
This is in reference to Store #827 in Orangeburg, SC. My niece and I went into this location on yesterday, Sunday, August 29, 2021 and it was hot inside the store. There were two employees working and both of them brought fans from home to plug up at their registers. One was expected to unpack boxes during her shift. She's completely washed down in sweat before she can get much done. We were told that the air conditioning has been out for at least three weeks. Management is aware of the issue and nothing has been done about it. The temperature outside was cooler than it was inside. This is a health and safety hazard for the employees.

Rude staff
I was waiting in line for a while, more than five minutes, waiting to check out. There was one employee just standing in the corner by the balloons, and the manager was in her office. I had been at this store before and they used to have a bell to ring for service. I looked around, but didn’t see the bell.
Eventually the cashier shows up, she had been helping someone shop, and she shoves my basket aside (spilling the contents) and tells me “He is going first”, no explanations, just informed me that someone else is getting checked out before me. When it was my turn to check out, I told her that it was really rude to do shove my things aside like she did. She told me she was helping the guy she checked out before me, so he got to go first. I said “I was waiting in line to check out. That’s not fair, he was still shopping. I waited just like any other customer who was finished shopping.”
The manager came out to ask what was going on. I told her, and mentioned that the store had a bell you could ring for help, but didn’t see it. She proceeds to tell me “It’s against company policy to have as bell.” That’s all she focused on. I have been at this store several times over the years and this is the first time I had not seen the bell she was so concerned about. The manager did not care about anything that I had to say and rolled her eyes the entire time I was talking. As I was leaving, she made sure to tell me to have a nice day in the most sarcastic, snarky tone she could muster. It felt like the entire time I was speaking with the manager she was purposely trying to escalate the situation, that she was trying to make me more upset.

The Dollar Tree in Plattsburgh
The Dollar Tree in Plattsburgh , NY is basically useless they show all these items that the store carries then when you get to the store they don't have anything in stock. I don't get out so I made a detailed list sent my husband to pick up a bunch of things I wanted, he returned home with the wrong items (instead of Disney Tote bags he got cheap paper gift bags) they advertised the plastic tote bags, he also got the wrong puzzles, and these were 10 of each item. I sent him back to return them only to find out they do not allow returns only exchanges , The problem is they have nothing that compares to what I want to exchange for and this is $20.00 in exchanges. What do I want in the Dollar Tree for $20.00 ? I wanted the Tote bags and the correct puzzles not the 24 piece ones and they had no others that compared to these products. They also don't have a phone that exist I tried to call the number listed and it stated out of service. My husband "HAD" to buy items that we didn't even need just because the don't refund you only give exchanges and I think that's a load of bull. He bought drink singles that I guess we can give to our niece. The bottom line is while I was on the phone with my husband because my cell phone died because he texted me so many times trying to figure out what to get , a store associate was heard in the background saying she can call anyone she wants she isn't going to get anywhere let her do whatever she wants. This person was rude and listening in on our conversation which she had no business doing or remarking on. This Dollar Tree has rude workers and doesn't keep anything in stock. The store itself is a mess and piles of boxes all over the aisles, hard to find anything or to even get around the junk without falling over something in the aisles. They are lucky someone hasn't tripped or fell , maybe someone has and I hope they sue the store. If you buy at Dollar Tree make sure you are getting what you want and it's correct because you are stuck with it as there are NO returns.
YOU buy it you keep it or have to find something else and there is nothing that you'll find except piles of junk all over the place.

I ordered the Pumpkin Dinnerware…
I ordered the Pumpkin Dinnerware Collection online. The mugs arrived broken. Two weeks later the bowls arrived also broken. I’m still waiting for the dinner and side plates to arrive. Not very confident in the condition that they will be received. Dollar Tree packing and shipping needs a total overhaul. I can understand some damage but this is constant!!

Lori sales Associate is Racist and rude
8/15/21- Sales Associate Lori (Lorielle) at store #1579 13263 W. Colonial Drive Orlando Florida 34787-3922 has been consistently rude and make racist remarks under her breath. She snatches items off the conveyor belt or out your hands. If your black , Hispanic, Indian She gives you coldest stare, not even a hello how are you today, thank you for shopping with us this woman can bring her self to say. I try my hardest never to shop at this location. But today I have to say if my child was not with me I would have lost my cool and snatch that witch from behind the counter. I was looking at An item and rest it right back where I got it from. She turn around said give that to me these people and the rest of words disappear under her mask. So I told her speak louder and repeat what you said. She glare at me and slammed my items into the bag. Dollar tree train your employees and if they have a problem with minorities get rid of them because our money is the same color and value as a white person who by the way she smiles and greets so warm and kind. Lori needs to go she is really horrible. Do better Dollar tree weed out the employees that are bringing you brand down!
