Excellent dogsitters

The only reason why I'm still using DogVacay is because of the superb dog sitter I found on here but the cat sitter I hired for home visits for the 2 weeks I was gone had a man over--this I know because she was a young woman and I'm a single female who lives alone yet when I returned home, the toilet seat was left up and there was urine all over the toilet rim! When I contacted DogVacay to make them aware that this sitter had let a stranger in my home without my permission, the rep who replied obviously did not take the time to read my message as she referred my dog sitter in her apology and simply gave me a voucher. I ofcourse replied back, irritated, and the response I got the second time was apologetic with promises that the sitter would for sure be dealt with accordingly but I'm confident this did not happen. I wasn't looking to have her fired but reprimanded for her actions. I searched DogVacay's website to see if there was a policy to protect pet owners from hosts letting strangers enter their home without permission but didn't find a thing so I don't believe that there is anything in place at the moment. It's difficult enough to entrust my pets' care to a stranger but to also trust that person with my home and not knowing who was here or what she did here makes me feel uneasy. I'd definitely feel more comfortable if DogVacay implemented a 3-strikes-out policy (for both pet owners and sitters) but I doubt I'll be seeing this day anytime soon so until then I will only use their service if desperate.

Hello - Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns regarding your DogVacay experience. I do see that you have been in contact with our Customer Care Supervisors regarding this experience, and our Host Community Manager has followed up with the Host. With that said, please know that your feedback is taken seriously and we are looking into how we can best ensure that these types of situations do not happen in the future. We stress the importance of transparency between our Guests and our Hosts and, if this is not the case, our team looks into the appropriate course of action to take to determine if the Guest or Host in question is a good fit for our community. Again, I do apologize for the experience that you have and we will be looking into our policies to ensure that we can provide the most security possible for our community. Best, DogVacay

Jake goes to daycare twice a week. He is a 3 year old lab with more energy than I can handle. Daycare is the perfect answer. I just wish I had more money to send him more days per week.

I am so glad I heard about DogVacay. Boarding my dog in someone's home, with family-style attention and security, beats boarding facilities hands-down. The hosts are "vetted" by DogVacay and trained . . . our particular host has a secure backyard, two dogs of his own, is a dog trainer and a groomer in addition to home-boarding. My dog gets twice-daily walks with the "pack", sleeps inside and has playtime outside with the resident dogs and other guests. I love DogVacay and can't say enough about it.

I was looking, reluctantly, to board our 2 dogs for a long weekend when I came across this site. What a great concept! You can read a little bio about pet sitters close to home and even see their location on a map. There are no hidden fees or charges and our pet sitter was super friendly and took excellent care of our dogs, one of which has special needs. She even updated us with photo texts of them! It was absolutely worry free and reasonably priced. No kennels, no cages. It was like they went to a friend's house for a sleepover. Highly recommended!

Pups were spoiled, just like at home. First time ever they were boarded since we've we had them (over 11 years). We'll do it again in the near future. Big thanks to Sheryl.
