At Disney World now. Have not been here in 7 years. Disappointed. Not as busy as precocious times, but even with that, lines seem slow.
The Genie+ is a rip off to both who buys it and who does not. They can say all they want about a paradigm shift, is a money grab!! And doing it to their customers because they will just put up with it!!
More experience with Disneyland, was hoping for a better experience, it was not.

Shocked and Disgusted by Disney
As with many of the other reviews here, I am shocked and disgusted at the systems Disney put in place over COVID. This is not the experience I remember or enjoyed the dozen other times I have visited Disney World in the past. Instead, it felt more like a thinly veiled cash grab experiment to see how much money they can get out of visitors; most of whome are otherwise likely unaware of all the changes before arriving.
Examples: Magic band 60 dollars. Its possible, but hard to get along without them. If you don't want to spend 2 hours in each line, thats 20 dollars per day per person for lightning lanes, but you first need genie+ and a newer model magic band, which cost money. But keep in mind lightning lanes dont work for newer coasters. That is a separate 20 dollar charge (can be more or less day to day depending on ride and time) a day per coaster. So if you wanted to ride all 4 of the newest coasters that would be around 80 dollars a day per person. Plus the 20 dollar lightning lane a day. These are individual lightning lane passes which work for one ride, and can be purchased for rides around the park. If you dont pay for lightning lanes, this means that anyone who does pay, gets into rides in 5 minutes as opposed to 2 hours. If you wanna park hop to get the most out of ypur lightning lanes daily pass (you can only use the lightning lane pass once a ride per day), then it'll be an additional charge. If you want to add on the water park and sports park, that's yet an additional expense.
Food and snacks have gone up in price. Tickets have gone up in price. Memorabelia has gone up in price. I found it much more difficult to find locations to get free cups of water in the park than ever before. Most stands only sell bottled water, and when i asked for a cup of water in epcot at the alcohol stands, they told me those cups were alotted for alcohol, and that i would have to find water somewhere else or pay for a drink. Which sounds dubiously legal to me.
It was much harder to stay hydrated throughout the hot days than it used to be, without buying drinks. Does magic Kingdom have any water fountains left? If it does have any, they are far and few between and i couldnt find them. I assume this is purposefully, to force visitors to spend more money: which is not only really crappy on Disney's part, but also extremely dangerous. There is zero reason there shouldn't be water fountains all over the park.
In order to get into any popular restaurants you have to book reservations the 60 days early at 7am. We woke up and logged in at 7am 60 days before all 10 days of the trip, and we still couldn't get reservations in half the places we wanted.
Disney World now does a better than ever job of luring you into spending money than ever before. And shutting down the park for a year gave them the chance to develop and implement a grossly predatory monetary plan.
On top of this, they double charged our wrist bands at the end of the trip, which we had been using for purchases in park. So we have spent hours on the phone arguing with them. We see the bank statements and see the exact same amount debited from the account twice. So my checking account is in the negative now as Disney takes their sweet time reviewing bank statements.
I've been to Disney nearly a dozen times, and it used to be the most magical place on earth, but I honestly don't think I will ever go back again. What they have done with their business model is gross, and purposefully misleading and aimed at forcing you to pay a lot more once you're in the parks now.

Disney now a cheap low class experience with high prices
I've travelled across the world 3 times to Disneyland and disneyworld over the past 15 years. Things I've noticed have changed -
Costs higher and the genie plus costs amount to an extra few hundred per person during your stay.
The lifeguards - I saw a male manager of lifeguards storm into the customer female pool changerooms where there are showers etc and possible naked females...he was in a rage to find a sick cast member who was in the toilet to yell at her.
A male lifeguard at the pop century resort spit phlegm into the pool where kids were swimming- disgusting!!!
I buy shirts and because it's made in china and made of cheap crap, a day of wearing the expensive $50 shirt the entire Minnie mouse face has come off the back of the shirt.
The food is worse quality than it used to be.
The staff now allow people to run in the parks and young boys on scooters hoon around almost running into people.
G strings and offensive clothing now allowed in the parks.
The list goes on....the cleaners leave rubbish in our room and don't properly clean....many photographers in the parks do blurry photos or photos too low creating a double chin when we don't have one...cleaners once took my earphones...my kids saw it. I can't explain the dramas of this place...I didn't have any of this in universal or chain hotels cheaper like best and western or Marriot.
The worst though was the behaviour of the lifeguards though and I complained but hotel staff backed them up.
I also think paying $50 for one shirt should be high quality but it isn't.
I converted that USA money and it was $90 from my country...$90 and the face of Minnie mouse was off the shirt and I only wore it a few hours. Really really angry!!!

Buyer beware of Disney exorbitant cost. Stayed at Contemporary Resort purchased…
Stayed at Contemporary Resort for 3 nights included 2 day park hopper pass, total was $3200!!! First day complete loss because time spent trying to figure out their terrible system for booking rides. Breakfast at MK Crystal Palace was $140 for 2 adults. (absolutely mediocre buffet, but that has always been the case in the parks) Disney charges for everything. You can buy a 'Magic Watch' to help negotiate the park & rides, $60 each, or pay for Genie + $18 each daily, or pay $20 each to skip the lines on some rides. I've been going to Disney Word since 1981, 7 times total. This was the worst experience ever! As I was leaving my thought was, 'Disney is missing an incredible income stream, they should be charging for toilet paper too'. Maybe that would help pay the executives that set up this terrible system.
No more 'Happiest Place on Earth' more like how much can we get from visitors while we have them here. Really sad.

Party of 10 in Disney with 2 autistic…
Party of 10 in Disney with 2 autistic children. We had a great time, but only because we were prepared to throw money at avoiding the lines. The main issue we had is Disney can not cope if more than 1 child in the party has a disability. Then splitting the party into 2 they advised against and we’re correct to do so. We had granddad and grandma there not to go on the rides but as carers , there is no reduced carer rate unlike many other attractions. Because only 1 child could be disabled we ended buying expensive genie plus services to get into rides, we also bought individual lightening lanes as we could only DAS 6 when we needed to get 8 on long queue rides which did not take genie plus. To make all this happen we also needed magiband plus for 10, so in all an additional 2000 usd dollars, most of which we did not plan for. I reported this to Disney and simply got a reply saying it would be reported to senior management, customer service speak for we will ignore you. Disney sometimes more than 1 child in the party is disabled please recognise this and update your systems accordingly
Why have I updated this ??? . Because Disney did care, took the time to call me, listened to me, acknowledged there were issues.
I reviewed too early and was too cynical so sorry Disney and thank you for your time understanding and showing you cared for something other than the dollars.

Not a review but..
Not a review. But I think that if Disney makes another Santa Claus movie it should be titled The Incentive Claus
