If it were possible to rate zero stars, that would be my rating; Discover Bank is the worst. Rather than relay my entire experience in an attempt to transfer an IRA account from Discover to another bank, I will state simply that I have never dealt with a more unprofessional, non customer-friendly, less helpful bank than Discover. What should have been handled in several days is now in its third week - without resolution. Trying to deal with a human being is an exercise in futility: wait times on hold to reach a customer service agent range from 45 minutes to an hour. I am so grateful to know that once my transfer transaction is complete, I will never have to deal with Discover Bank again. Whether things will be better with Capital One remains to be seen; all I know is that they could not be any worse! Discover has to be one of the worst companies in the U.S.

I have been with discoverbank.com for a long long time and found it to be completely perfect in every way. Regretfully since capital one has taken them over everything has changed and like many people I am leaving. There is no way I would do business with capital one it is with great sadness that I leave discover bank.com and I'm also quitting using my Discover card as a protest for capital one taking them over. To the previous employees of Discover.: you have been complete perfection in every way, and I have felt gratitude for Superior customer service that has been attentive, responsive, and English as a first language. The rates through the years have been fabulous. Seriously it has been perfect.! THANK YOU discover staff for being a model of Superior, Customer Service and fabulous rates. To capital one: no way I'm gonna be forced to bank online. No way I want to deal with a company like you. .. I am gone gone gone gone! Thanks again discover you have truly been the best! The BEST of any bank I have done business with for decades. I am sad that we have lost you. Capital one is now ruining your carefully built and outstanding reputation. To those now using Discover/capital one: just know it USED TO BE perfect and that Capital One single-handedly destroyed Discover. So the crappy service you are now getting is not the Discover base.. .

When a credit card company refuse to delete or deactivate a card by forcing you to keep the card active just to access your account and pay your monthly agreed payment they're forcing you to pay for what you never agreed to or what you truly owe. When the case of indentity theft occurs they still will not deactivate the card even when there are ongoing charges made against the card. They pay to cause lawsuits with no proof of the victims having ever asked or received the card. If you can be randomly targeted to pay while they don't have to provide evidence that it's your debt this is a dangerous company that has paid off your own government to forge your signature to use as how they are stealing bank accounts and illegslly garnishing wages. This company should be sued and shut down forever.

My parent has done business with Discover Bank for more many years and despite hiccups was able to manage her account without help her self. Recently she had a CD come due and wanted basic information on balance terms and current rate. When she call she can't even get general information like what is a 12 month CD rate for anyone. She is passed to someone who refers lies and says they will personally help her get her information. All they do is refer us to a mobile notary who she has now twice failed to achieve access. First attempt received a message of success which turned out to be a lie. Second attempt the AI biometric picture taken failed to identity. Discover Bank hides behind manipulative language to protect them. Do not do business with Discover Bank unless you are prepared to waste a lot of time.

I’ve been using Discover for a long time, and then one day they suddenly decided to lower my credit limit for no reason at all! I’ve spent years making on-time payments and using less than 30% of the card's limit, yet without any warning, they decided to cut my limit by over $10,000! I wouldn't recommend them at all! Customer service doesn't even help you! They treat their customers very poorly!

Never will be dealing with Discover. CD accounts website is designed on purpose with no option to withdraw your money upon maturity. You have to call, which takes on average 30 min, than if you wish to get your money via wire transfer, you are switched to "wire transfer" person, who gives you 10 minutes lecture explaining that wire transfer will not be possible. Than you switched to "check in mail" person, and so on and so on....

As of today I still have a positive experience with Discover Bank Customer Service. My former bank was Capitol One and a horrible experience that I swith to Discover Bank. Well before the merger was in the works. Now that these companies has merged. My continued future with Discovery Bank is up for pending. I find it difficult to believe that Discover Bank will continue to main the positive Customer Service with Capital One merger. The negative experience I started notice is the call center AI. I had to make six (6) repeatedly calls to be connected to the right department to ask a simple question. Again, my future continued with Discover Bank is up for debate.

These people are horrible. Every time I call its "We are still reviewing your documents". "Call back in 2-3 business days". They are happy to take your money - good luck getting it back without pulling teeth. Capital One owns Discover Bank. "What's in my wallet"? Nothing! I can't get my money out of the bank.
