I have been with discoverbank.com for a long long time and found it to be completely perfect in every way. Regretfully since capital one has taken them over everything has changed and like many people I am leaving. There is no way I would do business with capital one it is with great sadness that I leave discover bank.com and I'm also quitting using my Discover card as a protest for capital one taking them over. To the previous employees of Discover.: you have been complete perfection in every way, and I have felt gratitude for Superior customer service that has been attentive, responsive, and English as a first language. The rates through the years have been fabulous. Seriously it has been perfect.! THANK YOU discover staff for being a model of Superior, Customer Service and fabulous rates. To capital one: no way I'm gonna be forced to bank online. No way I want to deal with a company like you. .. I am gone gone gone gone! Thanks again discover you have truly been the best! The BEST of any bank I have done business with for decades. I am sad that we have lost you. Capital one is now ruining your carefully built and outstanding reputation. To those now using Discover/capital one: just know it USED TO BE perfect and that Capital One single-handedly destroyed Discover. So the crappy service you are now getting is not the Discover base.. .

They assisted me with a payment plan at a lower interest rate this plan would allow me pay off my loan faster than before, and with great saving that can used for other things

I have used Discover Bank simply as a savings account for several years. Unlike my bank that pays almost no interest, I am getting 3.5% on my savings at Discover. I occasionally transfer money to & from my checking account and have had no problems at all with transactions. I also had a CD for 2 years with no issues.

I recently applied & was approved to open a checking account with Discover Bank in order to be able to link & transfer my checking account to a Visa or MC since only 99% of the planet accepts Discover. I had begun to regret doing so after I received a couple of confusing emails I received from Discover & being treated as a complete idiot by one rep when I called regarding clarification of my concerns regarding these email. Finally, PLT, Ms Mary from Discover Bank CS was able to answer my questions in no time flat & restored my peace of mind which is priceless! She not only restored my faith in the banking side of Discover but in mankind as well! She has turned Discover Bank’s previously earned F into an A+, gold star, smiley face! Kudos, Ms. Mary, for being an angel of mercy & my answer to prayer today!

Discover Bank is a great bank. Hear me out. Try establishing a relationship with Discover. Make sure you keep everything good, like no overdrafts etc. I have been with Discover for awhile, and the bank treats me like gold. No yelling or threats are necessary. Every person I spoke to has helped me every time. If there's any problem/misunderstanding, of any kind, talk to Discover. The bank will assist you. I believe some are in such a hurry, the great nuances of Discover escapes the perceptions. Try the bank from a fresh perspective. Thanks for listening. Good luck!

Pros: 100% US based customer service Lots of ATM’s Cons: Online only, but not end of the world since I haven’t gone inside of a bank for 6 years. Overall great bank to go with, I recommend it to all of my family and friends.

Tooling around on Trustpilot, I saw all the negative reviews for Discover Bank. I've been banking with Discover for about 10 years. Absolutely, hands down, the best customer service. They're all US-based, speak very good English and understand the norms and customs of American society. Some things are just hard to explain to a guy in the Philippines. I had a fraud issue, my fault, back in 2019. They jumped through hoops to stop it, change all my account numbers and make me whole. I'm a little concerned about the Capital One buyout, we'll see. I like Discover Bank
