The girl I spoke with, Nikima (check spelling), was nice but not very helpful. It was clear she was reading from a script and disinterested in my situation. I understand providing good customer service is draining and often times frustrating, but I really needed help and she was unwilling to make the extra effort to come up with a mutually agreeable solution.

Direct TV as a Sales " hook " doesn't offer you, but automatically forces you to have 3 months of premium channels like HBO ect---- and you as the customer, if you don't remember to call them and drop it, will start automatically charging you for that service, even though you did not want it in the first place. This is akin to mail in rebates, wherein, the Marketing company is relying on the fact that only about 25% of the rebates are mailed in. I said I did not want the premium channels at all !, & and was told, that there in no way to take it off. With all the technology that Direct TV has, it is a very simple thing to do, so that means it is a " Policy " of Direct TV, and it should be modified, to allow uninterested customers to decline the Premium offer up front.

We switched to Direct TV because we were sick of the service and price at our current provider. When the technician arrived for the install he only had enough equipment for 1 TV and our order was for 3. This was already an annoyance as we have now only had 1 working TV for a week and have to schedule another installation appointment. When I called to reschedule I was told after being on hold for half an hour that there was nothing the service rep could do and a supervisor would contact me. I was never contacted so I called again 2 days later. After being on hold for 45 minutes I was again told there is nothing they could do but my local install office would contact me. I was contacted by the install office and told they can not do anything and that I need to contact Direct TV This has been extremely frustrating to deal with and at this point I wish that I never switched but the want to charge me an outrageous fee to cancel at this point. I highly recommend anyone considering Direct TV look elsewhere.

I was so pleased with the customer service I received from DirectTV. Marc was my reps name and he explained to me he was on a newly created team through DirectTv's online chat. He told me within 1 minute of our conversation that I was getting free installation and equipment no questions asked. I was like okay, I here you. I wasn't sold because I called a month prior and another rep told me I would have to pay $100 for installation & equipment. As I listened he told me everything he could do for me and he helped me select the appropriate package that fits my needs. My entire goal for calling was to save me money, because I am currently a Comcast customer and have been for 11 years, but I am tired of their lack of customer service and high prices. Marc did everything in his will to make my cost as low as possible and he succedded, because I didn't have to pay for anything at signup and I got everything I needed. With my DirectTV cable and AT&T internet and phone I saved $60 a month off my comcast bill and that was sufficient enough for me. I can go on about my experience, but I look forward to being a new customer with DirectTV. Thank you!!

Complaining to better business Bureau and will use other provider.

I am a new customer, and I set up to get Direct TV. The man I was speaking with was very nice and professional. He helped me tremendously and he also shared personal experience with me and I really appreciated how friendly he was, and how he wasn't just there to "get paid" but he actually helped me and talked to me not like a customer but as a friend. Would definitely recommend. (I honestly can't remember his name, but he was a wonderful representative of this company, he deserves a promotion!)
