What a scam! Esurance is exiting CA and without my consent has forwarded my information to Direct Auto, who created a policy for me that is 5x more expensive than identical eSurance policy. My 6 month premium went up from $2.2K to $13K!!! I was sure it was a mistake, but they assured me that their "pricing engine works very differently". No s...t! Then I had to spend 20 minutes on the phone making sure that this disaster of an offer never becomes a real policy as I hear they like to claw money since they have all the ACH information from eSurance. By the way, mister eSurance compliance officer - what is wrong with you sharing your most sensitive data with some no-name third party with questionable business practices? Stay away from esurance and Direct Auto and be vigilant during this mishandled transition period as eSurance exits CA.

I've been a customer of theirs for about 4 years. The premium goes up every renewal. This last time it went up $150 on a 6 month policy. Nothing has changed, no tickets or accidents. I would steer clear of this greedy, money hungry corporation. I know I will for now on.

This company created a fraudulent account with my information. I never signed a new policy agreement, I refused every offer, I even called to let them know in advance that I 100% refused all services. In spite of all of this, including written refusals, they still went ahead and created an account and tried to bill me. Now the onus is on ME to fight to cancel this account and get money back for the duplicate insurance coverage I refused at every turn. I said no, to every single thing I could, and they just went ahead and ignored my wishes to steal money. Imagine having a form that requires a signature to create an account -- you refuse to sign it, they create the account anyway and bill you. Where is my consent respected? This is a scam and a money grab.

I'd give zero stars if I could. Don't know what kind of scam they're running but my quote was $120. They took out $177 when I questioned why they said they needed my moms info on what her insurance company was because we live in the same house. She refused to give them her info and asked why they needed it. Since she never heard of this before ( she's been driving 50yr) red flags went up. I called that day to cancel and was told I would get a refund of $77 although I was insured only 2days. They couldn't explain why and hung up on me. Scam company, research before handing over banking information. I had to put a stop on my debit card per conversation with them . Do not use Direct insurance.

An extraordinary hike in price for the same insurance coverage. With Esurance my cost for a 6-month period was $455. Direct Auto - for the same coverage & period, was going to charge $1,800+! I found another reputable provider who's charging me $445 upon the expiration of my Esurance policy date.

The lady at the Direct Auto insurance at the E.Adamo drive in Tampa Florida Was awesome her name was Jenniffer and she made sure I knew everything I needed to know about my auto policy and she answered my questions. Great I’ve never had such a good experience with an auto insurance person. If I could give them minus 5 stars I would. The worse insurance company ever. I found out they were charging me twice as much as what other insurance companies charge for the same coverage, so I canceled my policy with them but they decided to withdrawl money from my checking account anyway. I called them and they say it will be at least a week before they reimburse me and will not return it to the account only send a check... and they are charging me $50 because I canceled the policy. Do not use this company. They are a rip off.

I got automatically moved to Direct Auto when Esurance left California. After looking over their policy which I could only do after signing all their paperwork just to log in to my switched-over account, I saw they wanted me to pay more than double what I was paying Esurance! My Esurance policy was to end on 6/30/24 and Direct Auto to start on 7/01/24. I called them in mid-June to cancel before the new policy started and they told me it was done and I wouldn't be charged. I have been insured with Farmers since 7/01. Direct Auto has billed me twice after "canceling" my policy! No one ever answers their phones and I FINALLY was able to get some information from the chat box on their website. They gave me an email to contact about canceling (again!!!) and getting a refund. They are a dirty company with no ethics or care for people. I live in Southern California, it's expensive enough here without being charged for an overpriced insurance policy that should have been canceled already!!
