Took almost a month to get my glasses. Never again.

We’re very sorry for the delay you experienced with your order. Your glasses were processed during our holiday period, which extended the production and shipping time.
We understand your frustration and truly appreciate your patience. We’ll continue improving our processing times to serve our customers better.

The lenses in my progressive…Defective
The lenses in my progressive prescription eyeglasses were cloudy, off, and not right. Completely unwearable and defective. The prescription provided to them was correct. They then tried to upsell me on an anti-glare coating. Totally ridiculous.
They are extremely hard to get a hold of on the phone, and they give the run around.
The simple and easy solution is to provide a return label at no charge so they could be sent back and either replace the defective lenses or give me the option of a full refund.
Other online eyeglass outlets are responsive and provide prompt customer care and solutions. Not this place!

Finally received my order, but...
I placed an order in June for magnetic sunglasses to go with a pair of Easyclip prescription eyeglasses that I had purchased elsewhere (I had lost the sunglasses). Before placing the order, I engaged in an online chat and also called the customer service number to make sure that I could order just the sunglasses. I was assured that this was true. So I placed the order. After a week, I checked via the "order confirmed" email, to see if they had been shipped yet as they were expected to ship in 1 to 5 days, and there was no change in the order, and no update available. After 2 weeks, I emailed, requesting an update, and waited several more days for a response. The response told me that the item I ordered had been discontinued by the manufacturer. (The website still shows this item as available). I responded and asked that they send me a set of frames + the sunglasses, since that item was still listed on the website, at the cost that I had already paid, as recompense for the poor customer service. The response that I received to this email did not acknowledge my email, and even said that they had tried to contact me about my purchase - which was not the case. Additionally, each email I received from them was addressed to a different name than I signed, so I was really not sure they were even reading my emails. After multiple attempts to call the customer service number, and not reaching a person, (and checking that I had never received a refund for the item) I was very surprised to receive an email in late September - a full 3 months after the order was placed - informing me that my order (containing an item that was reportedly discontinued) had shipped. The item I ordered did finally arrive; it lacks any kind of useful case (when I initially purchased these from another company, the sunglasses lenses came in their own small case). And still, the item that I was told had been discontinued remains advertised on the Designer Optics site - and it looks like I could order the same thing again today - for $15.00 less than I paid. In the meantime, I have received so many promotional emails, asking me to come back and buy something else. I do not recommend this company; the customer service leaves much to be desired. Yes, I have what I ordered - but not in the timeframe promised - and with poor communications.
Update on 10/20 to reply to Designer Optics' reply: I do not desire any further resolution. My attempts to communicate with your company have been frustrating, and I don't have any reason to believe that will improve. And I will not provide personal information on a public review page. Since I finally have what I ordered, even though it took 3 months to get here, I am considering this saga done. I wrote this review to warn others of the shoddy customer service I experienced.

SCAMMERS
Ordered sunglasses from them which supposed to be shipped in 3-6 days according to website and it was in stock! After a 9 days not getting a shipment confirmation I contacted to customer service and just after asking they told me that they are still waiting to got them from the manufacturer. At my second email the response was totally different, the sunglasses has been discontinued by the manufacturer and I could cancel my order . Then I checked it again on website and it was still available but with a higher price . So they just didn’t want me to ship it with a lower price I payed and want me to cancel it! Such a scammers !!! Won’t buy from them anymore!! Ezcontacs are much better

We apologize for the inconvenience you experienced. After reviewing your order, the Ray-Ban sunglasses you selected were marked in stock at the time of purchase, but the manufacturer later confirmed the model was discontinued. We promptly informed you and offered the option to cancel or choose a replacement.
Please rest assured, there was no intent to adjust pricing or delay your order. We appreciate your understanding and the opportunity to clarify.
Sincerely,
Designer Optics Team

Response from DesignerOptics.comSep 18, 2025
We’re truly sorry to hear the glasses didn’t work out for you. When we reviewed your order, we noticed the prescription details entered at checkout didn’t match your actual prescription. Because each prescription order is custom-made, we’re not able to issue refunds. However, we did offer solutions — including remaking the lenses with the correct prescription or helping you choose a better-fitting frame.
Please contact us at [email protected]
or 718-412-0407 if you’d like to move forward with one of these options.

Scam - Worst Experience
This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had as a consumer. I purchased PRESCRIPTION sunglasses through the prescription sunglasses page, I entered my script, etc. I was pretty sure I got scammed, I never got any email, any confirmation of shipping, NOTHING. I finally reached out and got a tracking number, the glasses showed up and the sunglasses showed up with the sunglass (tinted) lens popped out, laying on top of one another, scratched. There was my prescription in regular clear lenses installed in the SUNGLASSES. Confused, I reached out and they told me I didn't pay for tinting on the SUNGLASSES.
Absolutely, mind blown, the most ridiculous excuse I've ever heard - you should post that you're selling lenses not actual sunglasses.
I had to pay an additional amount to get them tinted. I paid to ship them back, I paid for the tinting AND paid for shipping again.
No label was created for me, I paid for all of that out of pocket, for their mistake. Worst experience I've ever had, I would never recommend this company to anyone - I guess you get what you pay for.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience, but we want to clarify how our prescription sunglasses process works so future customers understand.
When ordering prescription sunglasses, our system allows you to select any tint color, including matching the original sunglass tint. If no tint is selected, the prescription lenses are made clear by default. Before checkout, you must acknowledge and confirm this step — you cannot complete the order until confirming that clear lenses will be provided if no tint is chosen.
What you received were your custom prescription lenses installed in the frame, along with the original tinted lenses packaged separately. We ship both so you can switch back to the manufacturer’s original lenses anytime.
In this case, no tint was chosen at checkout, which is why the lenses arrived as clear. Any tinting service afterward requires an additional fee, since it wasn’t part of the original order.
We want to reassure all customers:
Our system is fully transparent and requires confirmation before purchase.
Both prescription and original lenses are always included.
We never withhold information or change an order — you receive exactly what is confirmed during checkout.
We understand the disappointment, but this was not a scam or mistake — it was how the custom order was submitted and confirmed

Ordered a pair of Oakley sunglasses
Ordered a pair of Oakley sunglasses. Waited a week and checked status of order. It said it was canceled and refunded. So I contacted them they said it was a problem with my payment. So I checked my account and it showed it cleared and was refunded. Told them this and they said the same thing. They said I could reorder if I want. I checked and the Oakleys were $60 more. Very shady.
Response from DesignerOptics.comSep 9, 2025
We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Your order was canceled because the payment did not clear with our processor — while it showed as debited, it was automatically refunded in full. Pricing may change due to brand and supplier updates, which is why the Oakley model later reflected a higher price. Please contact our team directly, as we may be able to match the original price for you.
