Don’t order from this business. They sell fake glasses as “authentic.” I wish I would have done my research before purchasing, because as you can see from other reviews, BBB complaints, etc., there are many other customers that have reported receiving counterfeit glasses. I purchased $400 Gucci prescription glasses, and I upgraded to non-reflective lenses. When I received the glasses that were supposed to be metal and realized they were plastic, I was very concerned… so I took the glasses to the Gucci store near me at 725 5th Ave., NYC, where they confirmed for me that the glasses were 100% counterfeit. Even worse, the prescription was off and the lenses are definitely not anti-reflective. I have contacted the business, but they continue to deny the glasses being fake even though the actual manufacturer told me they are fake. I have contacted the NY Attorney General and the BBB, because this business needs to be shut down.

Misleading. I found the eyeglass frame that I wanted to buy. There were 3 companies promoting the same product. In terms of pricing, the high and low were separated by about 15%. The low advertised 2-3 week ship/lead times and the medium and high both promoted 1-5 days. I selected Designer Optics (the medium). The pricing promoted and reflected in my cart and the pricing that appeared during my check out were different. So I called. The sales/customer service person told me that they were out of stock and had to rely on the manufacturer for pricing, which fluctuates. His explanation (which included how they order from the manufacturer) also made it clear that ship times were going to be in the 2-3 week time frame. I said "that was fine," but that "they shouldn't be promoting unverified pricing and misleading ship times." The response I received was: "It's not misleading because I'm telling you the truth now." Maybe it's just me, but I did not appreciate that response.

No glasses and lost approx. $500 ($497). Placed my order before the end of 2023 using my leftover FSA balance. After multile inquires, finally told they do not have the frames and the manufacturer does not have them. The order was cancled, but as it is now 2024, I cannot use the FSA balance.

Broken promises!! I ordered Maui Jim Sun Red Sands Glasses on November 29, 2023. Promised to deliver within 10 days but nothing happened. An Associate explained that shipment from Factory is delayed but promised express shipment following week. A promise failed again. Designer Optics is most irresponsible and unreliable merchant I ever experienced. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed!

Though shipping was promised in 7 to 10 days, the order had not been completely processed at day 6. After contacting Designer Optics TWICE, the frames ordered were finally shipped. When I received the frames I discovered that they were the incorrect size. I attempted to contact customer service by both the site's chat feature and phone. That is when I found out that those departments are open on Friday for only two hours; their day ending at 12:00 PM. I then filled out a return form and sent a message. The first reply to my message did not address my concern directly, so I sent another. The second reply did address the issue, but...I am being charged a fee for returning the frames. In other words, the mistake Designer Optics made is costing me money. Granted, it is not a large sum. but I should not be charged for Designer Optics incompetence. There are many other sources from which to purchase eye wear, choose one of them. Designer Optics has responded to my original review and while they apologize, they say I have provided no specifics. That's not accurate, but okay, here goes: 1.I ordered frames from Designer Optics. 2. Though they say they will ship in 7 to 10 days, my order had not even been completely processed at day six. 3. Two prodding communications from me finally resulted in the frames being shipped. 4. When I received the frames, they were the incorrect size, as in, NOT the size I ordered. 5. Because Designer Optics customer service closes at 12:00 PM on Fridays after 2 grueling hours of providing poor customer service I filled out Return/Exchange/Refund form and included a message. 6. The first reply to my message asked that I send a photo of the frames I had received. I declined to do so as a photo was not going to accomplish anything. The frames were not damaged, they were the incorrect size. 7. The second reply I received after filling out another form did answer my concern directly. However, I was informed that it would cost me money to return the frames. It would be $ 9.95 if I used the label they were sending me or a $ 5.00 handling fee if I returned them on my own before the label arrived. Granted, neither is a larger sum of money, but I should not have to pay for Designer Optics mistake. 8. To someone's credit at Designer Optics, they sent me an email saying they would waive the $ 9.95 label usage fee. I hope that is what ultimately happens, but I am not counting on it. How is that for specifics, Designer Optics?

Not only did it take ages for the delivery to get here, but I wrote to return since the glasses they sent me were too large. I then inspected them again since I’ve had no response to try to like them- and upon further infection the glasses are not fully in the frames. They have been tried on and they put back into the case as I wrote to them that moment. Designer Optics knowingly sent broken glasses, and are not responding to emails. Extremely frustrating and sad I have to result to trust pilot to let people know this business is extremely shady. If someone wants to make this right my order number is #SY637231 - now let’s do the damn thang.

I ordered a pair of prescription reading glasses with Kate Spade frames. I uploaded a copy of my RX to their online order. I received the glasses on 11-30-23 and the lenses were not right. They were blurry. I called them this same day and requested to return them. They said they would have the lab analyze the lenses and they would contact me. They sent me a prepaid mailing label and I shipped them back on 11/30/23 - the same day they were delivered. Tracking revealed they were received back on 12-4-23. Some 10 days later I have heard nothing from this company on my $167 purchase. No one reached out to me at all. I called Customer Service today and spoke to Adad. He said the glasses had been analyzed and they were a pair of glasses for distance. But I don’t wear distance glasses. I wear only reading glasses - I have a prescription because I have an astigmatism in both eyes. Concerned, I called my local ophthalmologist Mittleman Eye who gave me the Rx and verified that in fact my new Rx was NOT for distance but was for reading. I called Mittleman on 12-14-23. The company has no integrity. I have received no refund for what was a mistake made on their end. They have the designer frames and lenses back and have not issued my refund. It is a very poor company with people who speak poor English. I could hardly understand the customer service person. Buyer beware.

I ordered a pair of prescription glasses from this company on Aug 25, 2023 and they finally arrived on Sept 17. 2023. However, the lenses were PLAIN lenses. The prescription I specified was NOT fulfilled, so I began a return process on Sept 19, 2023 by requesting a return via Email to their Support Email address. I heard nothing back for a few days so I tried to call using the Support phone number. No one answered. I again requested a return via Email but no response. Finally I received an Email that stated: "Your message has expired without any moderator decision for the following recipients. Designer Optics Designer Optics Subject: SY618094: INCORRECT SHIPMENT: I WANT TO RETURN". Continued to call the support number but no answer. I finally received the Email message on Oct 4, 2023: Dear Lee, We have received your request for a return. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept your return because it is past the 14 day time frame that we allow for returns. Please be advised that in order for us to maintain our low prices, the 14 day return policy is strictly enforced. We apologize for the inconvenience. Looking forward to serve you again. " I have therefore lost the entire purchase price due to the company's incompetence in responding to return requests. I won't be using this company again and will dissuade others from doing so.
