STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! THERE ARE MUCH BETTER OPTIONS OUT THERE! I don't even typically write negative reviews, but this one is deserving. I wish I was aware of the warnings on reddit and BBB prior to purchasing. I didn't come across them until after the fact. This was hands down the worst experience I've ever had in my 30 years of wearing glasses. Dealing with Designer Frames Outlet (DFO) was so frustrating that it actually convinced me to consider Lasik! I’ve always replaced my glasses like clockwork every two years, and this year was no different. I found a pair of frames I liked online and decided to go ahead with them. I searched for companies to make and install the lenses, and unfortunately, I came across Designer Frames Outlet offering this service.
I paid extra for overnight shipping at checkout, only to be blindsided by the fact that DFO's provided shipping label used the slowest possible mail option. Despite mailing my frames out the same day, they didn’t even receive them for over a week! Once my frames FINALLY arrived at their facility, I received an abrupt notification that they wouldn’t complete my order because my prescription was expired. Expired? I replace my glasses every two years on the dot and have never run into this issue. When I checked, I saw that this particular prescription had an expiration date of one year instead of the two I’ve been accustomed to for my entire life, even though the law regarding this states that eyeglass prescriptions are typically valid for two years and contact lenses for one.
After a rude exchange with someone named "Amanda," I requested my frames back and a refund for the lens cost. Almost two weeks later, I FINALLY received my frames back. After nearly a month of dealing with this whole ordeal, I still haven't received my refund till this day. My emails about it have been completely ignored. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone, especially if you need your glasses urgently. There are far better options out there! I’ve since confirmed with my optometrist that the one-year limit on my prescription was just an error—no medical reason whatsoever. It's been corrected, and I’ve moved on, but I STILL WANT MY REFUND!!!

What great glasses! I found what I liked at the eye doctor's office and found them through Designer Frames for so much less! When I received them, they fit perfectly and the prescription was perfect. I had no problems inputting my prescription and ordering my glasses. I will absolutely order again!

The Buying Process
I like Persol, and they offered them. Another plus-
they are located in Seattle and I trust Seattle-ites more than I trust Brooklyn-ites! They were transparent about what was in stock, what not, and that they might have to order them in from manufacturer or affiliate. When the frames entered their lab for lens work, they sent me auto email- much appreciated. When mailed, they sent me auto email- again, much appreciated. Glasses arrived with tons of official Persol paperwork and fancy box and case that I recognized from my prior Persol glasses- definitely authentic. Frames and lenses were in perfect condition- not scratched or bent. Same for the Ralph Lauren reading glasses I ordered. This particular order- a bit of a wait, but incredible price, and zero complaints.

The glasses and lenses are excellent
The glasses and lenses are excellent. Had to rake them to have soft nosepieces put on instead of the hard plastic they came with. With that modification they fit perfectly.
