I either missed or did not received a call from my provider. I called 10 minutes after my appt time to get connected as instructed in the confirmation email defy sends out. I was told that my provider wasn’t answering messages from the receptionist that I was on the phone with. Spent 15 minutes on the phone with her and she finally told me to reschedule. There were no available appointments for 3 weeks?! I’ve been with defy for awhile and never had this happen. Appts are supposed to be for 45 mins so I’m not sure where my doctor was or why he couldn’t call me. I even told her I was fine with just doing a 35 minute appt.

Lack of Personalized Care
Final Review TemplateHeadline: Warning to Post-Menopausal Women: Overdosed and ignored by rigid "number chasing" protocolsI am writing this review to warn others, especially post-menopausal women, about the dangerous lack of individualized care at Defy Medical. Before going to Defy, I had been stable for many years on a balanced routine of 1 click of BIEST 80/20 with testosterone, and 1 click of progesterone cream. I chose to switch to Defy because I felt my therapy needed a minor, expert tweak to be fully optimized. Instead, they completely turned my life upside down and derailed my health for 7 months.Defy completely upended what was already working for my body based entirely on labs. They looked at my bloodwork and claimed my previous creams "weren't working." Ignoring the fact that I am a 110 lb, petite, fit woman who explicitly warned them that I am highly sensitive to medications, they stopped my gentle routine and prescribed a massive increase of pure Estradiol, oral progesterone, and testosterone—a regimen far more appropriate for a younger, average height and build woman. This extreme, cookie-cutter dosing completely destabilized my system. When I struggled and called for help, they actively defended their generic prescription methods—telling me to "start with 1 or 2 clicks and go up to 4 as needed"—ignoring that my body couldn't tolerate even a single click. Worse, their administration is highly problematic; they failed to properly document the custom dosages on each cream, which always lazily repeated the "1 to 4 clicks" protocol.Even after I took matters into my own hands and titrated down to just half of their original prescribed dosing, I was still suffering severely. When my bloodwork came back, they dismissively told me everything "looked fine" and said I could just "reduce things" on my own. But even halving my oral progesterone from 100mg to 50mg resulted in a total gastrointestinal shutdown. The oral tablets over-stimulated my gut receptors, causing severe weight gain, intense bloating, and an inability to digest my healthy, fiber- and vegetable-based diet, culminating in an almost complete, dangerous bowel blockage. When I was in absolute distress with moodiness, two panic attacks, sleep issues, and lethargy, the providers essentially dismissed their own role as specialists, telling me, “you can just go back on BIEST if you want,” completely shifting the medical burden onto the patient. After 7 months of misery, I had to titrate off of everything completely on my own to save my health. If you are a sensitive or petite woman looking for true personalized medicine, precise dosing, and a doctor who treats the patient instead of just blindly chasing lab numbers, avoid this clinic at all costs.

Bad Tri-Mix formulation
Defy filled a Tri-Mix prescription for me and it didn’t work. Hard to believe as I gave them the exact formula that I’ve been using successfully for over 10 years. Somehow, they messed up the formula and it’s not effective or even usable. Worse, they claim it’s not their fault and offered zero solutions.

Awkward and incomplete
The doctor was very awkward. He didn't seem to understand what he was doing or why I had my bloodwork done. He did not even go over results from my bloodwork that were of concern. Extremely disappointed.

Thank you for sharing this feedback, Gregg. We’re sorry your consultation did not meet expectations. A member of our team will be reaching out directly to discuss your concerns.

Slow and frustrating to deal with
Everything with these guys is SLOW. The sales people are super fast to reply, but once they have your money, that's it. Want an appointment? A month out. Want to get your meds? 3-4 weeks of wait time. I finally got my consultation, and it took them days (and me calling multiple times) to get the prescription into the system. Then I ordered and paid for the meds, and they were supposed to review the order in 48 hours. Four days later no one has reviewed it, and no idea when they'll review it. Ended up canceling my order because I can't imagine doing business with this company long term. My initial consult and lab fees are just wasted.
Complete waste of time and money. Read the other negative reviews and you'll see this is a common concern.
RE Defy's reply: I've already canceled my prescription order from Defy. The only option they offered for getting my medicine faster was to pay for expedited shipping. The shipping isn't the problem. Defy won't review the order and send it to the pharmacy. Expedited shipping can save me a day at most, since I live in a major metro area anyway, and I'm close to the pharmacy. And why should I pay for expedited shipping when Defy is causing the delay in the first place? The logic here is because they failed to process the order in the timeline they promised, so I should pay more?

Defy Medical wants to be there for you…
Defy Medical wants to be there for you as you're suffering through menopause, but sadly they aren't equipped.
They have an active administrative team who makes sure your lab work is relevant but then their team of practitioners is quite busy: it took me weeks to book my first discussion with a nurse practitioner. Noted there aren't any female MDs, which I would expect.
Further, following my $395 consultation, we discussed many options, agreed on next steps, but then when my prescriptions came through, there was a suite of options, where some didn't align. I received a call from an administrator but she didn't know anything about their vs local order options, which was confusing. Noted that one of my prescriptions we agreed on was missing.
From a CX perspective, their platform brings you to a useless landing page that doesn't help. This business needs a turnaround!

Too long to get the prescriptions to the pharmacies
The consultation itself was excellent, however I didn't get my prescriptions neither in my basket, nor sent to my pharmacy long after the consultation. I sent an email, and needed to call 3 days after to only get to know that the consultation wasn't even checked out, and it would take up to another 48 hrs (and who knows if that's even going to be the case) for the prescriptions to be sent to the pharmacies.
Response from Defy MedicalJun 30, 2026
First off, thank you for sharing this. We’re glad the consultation went well, but the delay afterward is understandably frustrating. This has been escalated to management so we can review what happened, address the prescription follow-up, and make sure our team follows up with you directly.

extremely long waits for notes…
I've never had a bad experience necessarily with my PA however I asked twice for a travel letter as we are going to Canada in just a few weeks. My husband asked his PA as well and neither one of us have received it nor is it in our chart/file/documents in our account. We pay a lot of money out of pocket with this company for your services and expect excellent service when it comes to things that should be handled in a timely manner. I'm not sure if that reflects on our PA or admin or what but some one is dropping the ball and as a high paying customer we are not satisfied. We shouldn't have to wait for over a week for notes to be updated in our account nor should I have to go back to ask multiple times for a travel letter!
Response from Defy MedicalJun 26, 2026
Hi Jennifer, we’re sorry for the frustration and for the extra follow-up this has taken. We know this is something you needed handled sooner, especially with travel coming up. Our team is looking into this now and will follow up directly to help get it resolved.
