Since Dear was acquired by Cin7 prices have steadily increased and customer service has decreased. Before the Cin7 acquisition customer service was prompt and helpful. Good luck now if you ever run into an issue! For a business our size the main draw of Dear was the competitive price - $50USD a month when we started using it in 2015 with modest, reasonable, increases up until 2021 - when Cin7 arrived and the price doubled. Now in 2024 they have over tripled our subscription price from where it was in 2023. The product works well most of the time but I can no longer recommend it.

Cin7 has been a huge unlock for our inventory and production management. We had been using QBE for all-things inventory and as anyone else who used it could share, it works but can be a bit lacking. Cin7 is a great solution when you need to upgrade. Our Ops team has taken full ownership of the system (we did get them a bunch of training!) and uses it daily for procurement, production (copacked), and order fulfillment. Moving our data into Cin7 has facilitated COGS tracking at a lot-code level. Additionally, it's been a great control to have a system just for finance (QBO) and a system just for ops (Cin7). We've integrated it to QBO and to Amazon, which drastically reduces the number of transactions we have to manually get involved with. There are a couple modules that we don't use (they have a Production module geared towards self-manufacturing that we haven't utilized. I reiterate - the biggest win for us has really been giving Ops an entire system that they "own". PO's are managed more timely and order tracking and revenue management is a lot easier. We've utilized Cin7 support a few times on automating some functions and I've found them responsive.

The Cin7 Core program checked most all of our boxes regarding an inventory program. Once the software is setup it is very user friendly. It links well with both Quickbooks and Xero. Each I have used with the program. It also allowed for our external programs to connect seamlessly for the most part. We are excited to see what the future holds with regards to our inventory management with the help of CIN7.

Cin7 are going through a lot of changes. The costs have gone up consistently. The most recent had very poor communication. We received 1 single email to mention our price was almost doubling next month. When questioned we were told that price was wrong and someone would check. We did not hear back. Then when chased there was some sort of discount put on. We as a company have no idea what costs were are facing as an OpEx with this software moving forward. We need clear pricing so we can budget and make informed decisions.

Used to have great customer support. Since it was taken over the only support you will get is from a bot that is no help whatsoever. You need to employ some humans before everyone starts moving to other software.

Updated Review: 1 Star Since my initial review, my experience with CIN7 has only worsened, leading me to downgrade my rating to 1 star. While the system previously had some functionality, it has now become almost unusable for our business needs. The tech support remains abysmal, and there are no solutions in sight for the numerous problems we've encountered. One of the most critical issues is with the sales order process. CIN7's workflow—quote, to order, to pick, to pack, to fulfillment/shipping—sounds efficient in theory, but it's riddled with problems in practice. For example, voided sales orders do not automatically return stock to inventory, creating discrepancies that result in back orders. When we finally receive stock and attempt to fulfill these back orders, CIN7 won't allow us to complete the process, citing issues with individual packed packages. Despite multiple Zoom meetings with CIN7, they have no solution other than to void the items, which only exacerbates the inventory inaccuracies. This is particularly devastating for us, as we deal with stock that has expiration dates, and we've lost all ability to track batch numbers accurately. Another significant problem involves disassembling products. We buy certain items in 1kg sizes, which we also sell in 250g packets. However, when we try to disassemble a product, CIN7 blocks the process, claiming the batch is already allocated to an order. Even though our stock levels show over 200 units available and only 2 units allocated, the system won't let us proceed. This issue is often related to the stock being stuck in the fulfillment phase (as described above) or allocated to an order that isn't due to ship for another week. CIN7's "solutions" are either to void the sales order—again leading to the same inventory problems—or to prematurely fulfill the order, which would cause us to lose complete track of our pending shipments. As it stands, we're forced to choose between being able to sell items or maintaining an accurate inventory management system. Neither is a viable option, and we're left in a situation where our inventory is an absolute mess, and our ability to trade certain high-selling items is severely compromised. Overall, CIN7 has proven to be unreliable, and their lack of effective support and solutions has left us with no choice but to look for alternative systems, which is painful considering all the effort, time and money spent for the initial onboarding. INITIAL REVIEW: I have been a user of CIN7 (previously known as Dear Inventory), and I must express my immense disappointment with the service since the company was acquired. The decline in quality and support has been significant and disheartening. When the software works, it is quite effective. However, issues crop up frequently, disrupting our operations. The most frustrating part is the lack of support. Trying to get a response from their support team is nearly impossible. They do not reply, leaving us stranded with unresolved problems. Additionally, the pricing structure has become confusing and unnecessarily complicated. CIN7 seems intent on squeezing every last penny from their customers, imposing nonsensical charges for basic functions that were previously included. Overall, I am deeply dissatisfied with CIN7 and am currently exploring other options. So far, I have found several alternatives that appear to be much more reliable and customer-focused.
