To whom it may concern, Over the past five years I have had nothing but issues with my Daikin AC unit — multiple breakdowns, constant repairs, and weeks without any AC during this Texas heat when our home reaches 90 degrees inside and we can't even sleep at night. For a company that claims to provide reliable cooling, this unit has been a complete lemon and has left my family, including a child with asthma and my wife with high blood pressure, uncomfortable and unsafe in our own home. Based on my experience, I would not recommend a Daikin AC unit to anyone.

I was going to put a Daikin system on my house. The sales guy made it sound like the best system on earth. Then I came here and found all these reviews. Thank God for trust pilot. Now I have to start over researching AC units since none are very good any more.

The Daikin One thermostat is an engineering disaster. The Daikin furnace and heat pump (installed in early spring 2026) are great. The problem is that the two devices are controlled by a proprietary thermostat that is a piece of junk. Because it is proprietary, I was told that it cannot be replaced with a generic smart thermostat. I have been told by the installers that it monitors the nearest weather tracking station and this data (via the Internet) is passed to the thermostat. It obviously affects the thermostat's performance. I live in a tree-laden neighbourhood, a non-cement/non-asphalt environment, right on the shore of Lake Ontario. The lake modifies the humidity and temperature both in summer and winter. The weather tracking station is 40 - 50 kilometers away. It is land-locked in a cement/asphalt/transport-heavy environment. The two environments could not be more different: temperature differences of 5 C degrees (8 kms. north of my home, in the direction of the airport tracking station), humidity differences of 20%, etc. Via two combination thermostat/hygrometer devices, I know that the thermostat does not display the correct temperature or humidity in my home, not even close. Thermostat adjustments don't help. With no change in thermostat settings, the temperature in my home differs from day to day, caused (I am guessing) by temperature changes from day to day at the weather station. Also, the thermostat does not react to the touch all of the time. Finally, there is no User Manual, even though the thermostat is much more expensive than generic ones that have many more features. Unbelievable! The thermostat may be good for 90% of installations with the same environmental conditions as an outside monitoring station but, for a few others, it can be an unmitigated disaster that requires constant monitoring and adjusting..

Spent over 20k for a whole new Daikin system in our condo (part of a 4 story building). Replaced the unit on the roof and even had the ceiling rebuilt in the unit to accommodate the in-home portion. We even had to do city permits. All done by certified Daikin people. 2.5 years later and its not working, and there were no errors thrown by the unit. We’ve been paying for the yearly maintenance checks from the original installers the whole time. They’ve come out twice now and say there’s a leak but can’t find where. Of course none of these visits are free and the next series of tests they need to do start at 1,200 and are expected to rise quickly. They say the warranty doesn’t cover any of this of course. We shopped around when making this decision and everyone told us Daikin was the best and was worth the investment, but i can’t agree at this stage. We’ve done everything we were supposed to do, but the only way we’ve survived this last heat wave was to buy a portable AC unit from Target which is working far superior to the Daikin. I do not recommend going with Daikin.

1 Star – Unlawful Refusal to Honor 10-Year Parts Warranty Daikin supplied a replacement unit for my original system but failed to process the administrative warranty transfer in their records. Now, they are refusing to honor the 10-year parts warranty I am legally entitled to, arbitrarily dropping coverage to 5 years over their own paperwork failure. Denying covered replacement parts at $0 cost and stripping warranty coverage through administrative oversight violates Texas consumer protection laws (DTPA) and constitutes a direct breach of contract. A company that treats loyal customers this way and disregards consumer law deserves to be sued for every penny they own. Stay away from Daikin!

I was so looking forward to getting this ac 2.5 ton DC Drive. That enthusiasm only lasted maybe 5 hours. We were stuck with very high humidity and the only way to deal with high humidity is longer cooling cycles. So down goes the set point. 75 was first and over 4 hrs we got down to a 66 degree and humidity still near 70. My CARRIER HVAC contractor gratiously changed out the Daikon POs for CARRIER. I am sincerely grateful to SNYDER HVAC. I will never do this oversight again. Trust Pilot has 35 reviews of Daiken equipment and at 91% NEGATIVE I should have gone deeper. I loved the concept and jumped in without looking further. Look for yourself...mostly bad experiences
