In July 2022, I rented one 10x25x8 unconditioned space and one 10x10x8 conditioned space from CubeSmart in East Peoria, despite their rates already being approximately 25% higher than comparable facilities I contacted in the area. I proceeded because CubeSmart was easy to reach and, at the time, I expected to need the units for only about six months. Unfortunately, my need for storage lasted far longer than anticipated. Over the past four years, CubeSmart has raised my rent by 102%, more than doubling the original cost. I now pay $626 for these two units, which is nearly as much as I pay for my apartment rent. Do not repeat my mistake. I strongly recommend avoiding CubeSmart at any location; based on my experience, their pricing practices are excessive, predatory, and entirely indefensible.

CubeSmart sucks. If you want to storage unit and you want to go somewhere where they treat you with respect as well as acknowledge and accept when they make a mistake don't rent from this place they are scammers. The manager kept getting smart with me on the phone then they told us that we could switch the account for my mom to me because I'm the primary account holders who was making a payment they said oh you can do all this stuff and then they said oh well sorry we can't switch the account over to your daughter's name. So every time I had to call about the account I either had to pretend like I was my mom or I had to get my mom on the phone. They told me the process of placing my son's items up for sale. However, they did not tell me that I had to pay for another lot to be put on they never said I had to pay any additional cost. Then when I told the lady that I was coming up this Sunday after she thought I was coming up and I told her that we don't live in Philadelphia she said oh well I thought. No you thought but I told you and my mom was on the phone and I told them to pull the recorded conversation. So I told her she was wrong she's going to tell me no I'm not so they're Liars. This is the worst experience I've ever had and I'm going to make sure that I post this on Facebook I already posted on the bbb. Stay away stay clear of CubeSmart they are horrible they will rip you off you'll end up starting out paying one fee and then they'll slap a whole bunch of other fees on there. Steer clear of them if you know what's good for you. This facility was in Connecticut.

CubeSmart Storage raised my monthly rate by more than 30% without any notice. That is an unacceptable way to treat customers, particularly when there was no advance warning that such a substantial increase was coming. A price increase of this magnitude should be communicated clearly and well in advance, giving customers an opportunity to decide whether they want to continue renting under the new terms. Instead, I was simply hit with a dramatically higher monthly charge. I am extremely disappointed with CubeSmart’s lack of transparency and customer consideration. A 30%+ increase without notice is unacceptable, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend CubeSmart Storage. One star—and only because zero stars isn't an option.

Complete corporate scam. The "nice local owners" have no say in anthing. 1st month- $120 2nd month- $145 4th month- $165 Now they announce another rate hike. 25% increase to $204. I'm out. Plus they charge $5 to pay online. If you call the corporate office, a nasty district manager will call back days later and say it's in the fine print. All lies, all fine print, all a scam. Use local family owned storage who have to care about their business.

Antioch TN. Rented over a year. Rat pee and poop ruined my things. They refuse to take responsibility. The insurance they force on you won’t pay anything. I had moved out a couple weeks and was told to sign an abandonment form. I refused. I didn’t abandon anything. Then she said she didn’t have my signature on file and needed it to give me my 2 week refund for early departure. So she wanted me to sign a lock cut form. I told her I have my lock if there is a lock on there it’s not mine. They are full of fraud ! Many google reviews also state lots of rat damage as well. I will be consulting an atty.

Don’t advertise a storage unit for $13/month if that’s not what customers are actually going to pay. By the time I got to checkout, the price had jumped because of a required lock, a protection plan, and other fees. Suddenly, that “$13” unit was going to cost around $34/month. That’s not a deal it’s misleading advertising. If the real monthly cost is around $34, then just say it’s $34. Stop luring people in with a price that doesn’t reflect what they’ll actually pay. Be upfront and honest instead of wasting customers’ time.

Truly one of the worst companies to deal with. At the end of the day they just want all your money. Expect excessively high rate increases every 6 months with absolutely no regard on their part.

CubeSmart has been absolutely horrible to work with. First, we arrived at about 4:00pm on a Friday and needed to complete our reservation with the store manager. We had spoken to him the day before, told him when we'd be arriving, and he said it was no problem. When we arrived the store was closed (even though the hours listed are 9:00am-6:00pm, M-F). We called and it went to voice mail. So, we did a reset. We hopped on the website and created a new reservation. We paid and got our code and headed in. The 10' x 10' storage unit we were assigned had a 3' x 3' air duct in the corner. So, we did another reset. Called corporate and switched storage units. Of course, we had to pay a second time. It took more than two weeks (and multiple calls and emails) to get our refund on the initial unit. The store manager was incredibly hard to reach and, generally, non-responsive. Moving on. After a few weeks, I got an email with an notification about the next payment. Since I'd paid with a credit card, I assumed it would just be charged to my CC on file. The next email I got from CubeSmart was about a 20% Late Fee (!) that had been applied to my bill. There was NO notice that the late fee was going to be applied. Just a notification that it HAD been applied. CubeSmart is refusing to consider refunding that late fee since there was no notification. I'm so glad that I only have to deal with them for another few months. Will NEVER use them again.
