4+ months for delivery of an in stock item
I ordered a C&B bed and wall shelf through an online decorating company back in mid-June. The items were supposedly in stock but that was incorrect. I’m not sure if this was Crate and Barrel’s issue or the online decorating company but at any rate, it’s mid September and I still don’t have the bed and shelf so am sleeping on a mattress on the floor still in my new apartment. I received an e-mail on 9/17 stating that my bed was ready and to give them a call to set up delivery which was exciting. I called and was told that the first option was September 30th which is nearly two weeks away, and then at that point it would be up to three weeks until the delivery and that the freight company would call me two days prior to the delivery date to set up the time. So I really have no idea what relevance the September 30th day has because I still have to set up my real delivery day up to three weeks after that which potentially is almost November nearly 5 months from the time the, “in stock” order was placed. I feel terribly for customer service because it’s not their fault there’s clearly just chaos behind the scenes. All these companies could really learn a thing or two from Amazon.
