Cool FramesReviews of coolframes.com

I was initially leary due to some bad reviews, but my experience was just the opposite. There was a very nice selection of frames, great price, fast shipping, good personal communication, prompt email, and just an overall awesome experience. My last attempt at glasses elsewhere was a disaster and I'm really glad I found Cool Frames. I highly recommend this company. Thanks.

I was very skeptical at first to buy from Coolframes.com with all the negative reviews but I took the chance to buy a pair of prescription glasses. The sales and customer service reps Kim, Eli and Samantha were very helpful answering my questions and I got very quick response from them via emails as well. It took about 6 days for my glasses to be processed and 4 days to get them via USPS from Brooklyn NY to Seattle, WA. I was relieved seeing the glasses that I ordered as there were no scratches on the lenses nor the RayBan frames. I was happy that I took the chance with Coolframes.com and I ordered another pair of prescription glasses for my husband with them!

I ordered two pairs. I live in the uk and had to chase them up when they didn't arrive after 6 weeks. They said they were currently in Quality Control. Two weeks later they arrived. Slow, but good glasses, good price, no customs charge. However a lens on one pair was seriously cracked. They asked me to return them: Extra cost to USA. When they were sent back to me they also incurred a customs fee. So all in all the money saved was a false economy. They did not offer to reimburse the return postage cost even though it was clearly their own fault. In general a really weird experience. Can't work out what planet the owner must be on thinking it's ok to let staff treat customers like this. Just a weird, weird experience!

Really horrible experience with coolframes. I purchased a pair of eyeglass frames from them. Firstly it took two weeks to get to me and when I got the frames, they were badly warped. Upon contact with coolframes staff, they were unapologetic and rude. They suggested that I bring it to my ophthalmologist and get them straightened! I decided to return the damaged frames and not only did I have to pay return shipping but also a 20% restocking fee since I did not want a replacement. Absolutely ridiculous and their return policy is not clear especially when it comes to goods damaged where they are at fault. Very disappointed and hopefully this review can prevent others from having the same experience.

Ordered a pair of frames from them and waited almost a month before even getting them in the mail...only to find out that they were faulty and lenses couldn't be put into them. So I requested a replacement pair..but was fought about it because the "two day echange policy" had already expired. After arguing with them, they finally agreed to send me a replacement pair but I had to pay the shipping fees (and extra $20). Yet again, I received another faulty pair of frames that lenses could not be put into. At this point I was completely fed up with the company, so I asked for a refund of what I originally paid. They, of course, refused and told me I was at fault.

I found a great pair of glasses at a good price with Coolframes. Having a UK web address, pricing in £ and offer of free shipping I guessed these were a company in the UK. It wasn't till I ordered my glasses that I discovered my glasses were in fact coming from the US. So not only did they take an age to process my order, then another two weeks to deliver and then I got a note from the post office to tell me that I had a £26 customs charge to pay. Not happy. They have responded that the customs charge notice is on the shipping page. But if you, like me, don't bother to look there you will be massively out of pocket. UPDATE: they also got my prescription wrong now have to figure out how to get the lenses changed without being further out of pocket

Ordered a pair of glasses from the .co.uk site. Incurred custom charges of over 33% of the values of the purchase.

I found glasses at Lens Crafters, but to get everything (anti-glare, super-thin, scratch protection, etc...) would've been $400-500. I wrote down the brand number and googled it to see if I'd get lucky with frames online somewhere. Cool Frames came up. I was not enthusiastic at first because their website had a few hiccups and wasn't nearly as smooth as another I used before for glasses (Coastal). However, I was finally able to get all the details in. Then, it suddenly asked me about Crizal lenses or their own brand...I had no idea what this was - upon doing some more research, I picked the Crizal ones since they have a lot of optometrist support online. Cool frames sent a certificate of authenticity and also the envelope the lenses came in. There is also a special coating called Essilor that I got. So, I made it pricey - but was still under the Lens Crafters cost. I have been wearing them for about a month, and they have been great. There's no issue with the lens quality or fit whatsoever. I saved around 200 by going through this site, and they are definitely the same as what Lens Crafters had, and I think I may even have a higher quality lens and coating. There's no real order tracking, and it took about 2 full weeks to get here - but it was worth it for the cost savings. It sucks that the reviews are sometimes very negative, and I guess the service is not that consistent. I was a little worried... but I'm very happy with this in the end. Note that the return policy is really harsh...so be VERY confident you want to get the frames you pick.
