why would anyone think about sending a customer a pass for a screening that expires on the same day? Let alone, 2 hours away from receiving. Customer service is non existent, no phone number to call in case you need help, and if you request an email to access your account you don’t even get that. I have no idea why companies insist in using this “service” as background checker.

It is physically impossible to get ahold of an actual human being if you have any sort of error. Heaven forbid you make a mistake, because you will never be able to fix it. I don't know who thought it was a good idea to replace humans with a worthless chat bot, but perhaps they should be replaced with a bot too. I've never been so enraged in trying to change one thing. This is an absolutely worthless organization which only exists to siphon away VC funds.

The speed is still superb, but the pricing is going up a bit too much.

Buyer Beware! Checkr doesn't make it clear that the prices listed on its pricing guide are just starting price (its in a tiny star at the bottom of the page). Nor does it tell you this when you order a background check or even after while they are processing it. You are just slapped with additional fees weeks later when they issue your monthly statement. By then, you've already requested additional background checks and the whole thing is an expensive fiasco. In my case, I ordered a background check for $54, only to be charged an additional $95 for that check because of additional court fees! To add insult to injury, they have NO PHONE number to address customer questions. Their sales team sure calls you about a million times, but when you want to call them with a question, you are out of luck. You can email customer service, but they don't respond. They only responded after I emailed twice and looped the sales team. And then their response was canned and they didn't resolve my concern (that their pricing is deceptive). They just sent me a pricing pdf (which is different from what you see in your account when you are ordering your checks) that has small print saying that that there may be "additional fees." I own a small business and we need dozens of background checks per year, so we can't work with an unethical, unreachable business. They have lost my business and you should save yourself the headache by avoiding them altogether!

What is going on with Uber and Lyft's background check company, Checkr? I worked for Lyft a few years ago and of course, didn't have a problem passing a background check. Drove for about a year, then started working elsewhere and lapsed. Re-applied in May for Lyft and my mind is blown away by the delay with their 3rd party background check company, Checkr. Lyft can't (won't) tell me anything useful other than I have address all questions through Checkr (they seem to be a bot company that can't offer any useful customer service communication). Finally decided to just wait on Checkr's time frame for my background to be completed (which is scheduled for tomorrow). Fast forward to 2 hours ago, and I receive an email that "...your background check has an updated completion date of July 27-Aug 1." In no universe should a background check take this long...when I originally worked for them, my background check came back in 24 hours and after uploading all of my documents...I was working within 48 hours. What is really going on? I am seeing other posters commenting on the need to take this to the media, threaten law suits, etc. But I just wanted an opportunity to earn some much needed revenue while I am in between work gigs. What a disappointment!

Only reason I gave 1 star is that it’s required. First Uber eats job, checkr held my background up and I couldn’t work for them. Then a new job, checkr has paused my background, stopping my livelihood and stopping me from feeding my child. I absolutely hate Checkr and I plan on suing the crap out of them. The most horrible service ever, you guys are trash!
