Central TransportReviews of centraltransport.com

I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! In my job I constantly ship pallets all over the U.S. I frequently use various LTL carriers. This is the worst! They will promise a pickup time, even if you call multiple times to confirm and then they never show up. They refuse to make things right. They have horrendous customer service Do yourself a favor And book with someone else.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST SHIPPING COMPANY I have ever worked with. They damaged almost $2,000 worth of US Government property, went through the formal claims process to which they approved but then got a check in the mail for about $100 bucks. I reached out to my point of contact to ask where the other $1,900 was but to no avail. Do not do business with these guys. Ever.

They wouldn't accept a return of a package in the same packaging it was shipped to me in. I received a rotary phase converter bolted down to a pallet wrapped in plastic wrap and shipped through Central Transport's Aurora facility. About 6 months later, I resold the unit back to the original seller. The unit was still bolted down to the pallet and re-wrapped in plastic wrap. However, the manager, Dan Carey, receiving the goods decided I needed to construct a crate around the pallet in order to receive it and forced me to come back the next day. I pleaded with Dan Carey to let it go because it was shipped to me the same exact way through his service. He started ranting about people who tried to send engine transmissions wrapped in tires and wouldn't understand my situation. There is a severe lack of customer service here. Avoid Central Transport at all costs.

Absolute garbage. I ship to Amazon regularly and have for years so I’ve worked with tons of different carriers. Central Transport is stands above all as the worse carrier I’ve ever worked with, by far. They have a middle man that works between us and the actual dispatch causing miscommunications. Today, we were told the pickup would be between 2 and 4. We politely requested, if possible, we’d love to be earlier in the route. At 4:00, we called to make sure we were still on their schedule as they’ve stood us up in the past with no call. We were told they’d be arriving at 4:45. At 4:55, we called to check on the pickup. We were told they were on their way to our location as we speak. ETA 20 minutes. 35 minutes later (It’s now 5:30pm on a Friday) we call to find out where they are and are told they’ve had their driver return to the terminal. They didn’t think to give us the courtesy to let us know. Despite being lied to (told they were en route to our location when they clearly weren’t) and having called several times throughout the day, they just canceled on us with no notice. We could have sat around for another hour had we not known to check on them. Just falsehoods, lies and lack of common decency in communication. This is the 2nd time we’ve dealt with a similar situation with this company. The only reason we work with them is because it’s Amazon’s default carrier. We will be contacting Amazon a second time with a letter begging them to stop working with Central Transport.

We ordered a water heater through a company in NJ. It came with all sorts of damage and wouldn't stand on the pallet it was sitting on because the pallet was so damaged. The water heater looked like it was a punching bag for a fork lift. We declined delivery. We then ordered a different one through Home Depot, that was again delivered by Central Transport. It look fine besides hole in the box with a minor scratch from what I could see on the outside. I accepted delivery thinking this all that was wrong with it. We just inboxes it and come to find the whole top edge is dented in and the lid of the water heater separating from the tank. If you're ordering an expensive appliance, make sure it is not shipped by Central Transport.

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE Reading the review appears to be ALL the same issues. NO ONE Wants to transfer to the servicing terminal. No one can give a phone # to reach anyone at the servicing terminal so you can ask about a pickup as they are unable to deliver timely.

They give a good rate and then they nickel and dime you till you would have been better off with Dayton, RL Carriers. I'm sick and tired of them having all the hidden cost. As of now I will never use them again. If Bill Rebholz will come out and we can get to terms then yes we will reconsider.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Giana is a customer service representative and is horrible at it. When asked to speak to a manager or supervisor she says they, " they are going to say the same thing to you." I asked," why are you not letting me speak a supervisor?" she replied," they will tell you the same thing." I asked for the supervisors name(Kathleen) that is not wanting to talk to me because it is the same as what Giana is saying. This is so RUDE!!!
