Cars and Bids provided all the help I needed in a timely manner. The auction is perfect for cars of special interest where enthusiasts congregate to discuss and bid. The people participating in the auction were polite and helpful as well. The auction is monitored for inappropriate comments when they do occur. Privacy is protected and personal information is not allowed on the auction website. All in all a very enjoyable experience.

Just not good customer service
Just not good customer service, my bad experience centered around that.
Response from Cars & BidsMar 20, 2023
Hi Kip,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback. We understand your frustration with the situation and apologize for any confusion.
In this case, the seller had a great dialogue with our support team up to the point of confirming the final details with you as the buyer. As soon as we finalized the sale commitment, the seller stopped responding to our messages. Our support team arduously reached out to the seller to secure you the vehicle, but unfortunately, the seller failed to close the agreement with us.
While this was an unfortunate result and situation, our support team did everything within their power to make it as painless as possible. Based on your feedback, we see that our team wasn't successful in this effort, and we will internally review opportunities to refine this process.
Please feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have any concerns or suggestions on how to improve this process in the future.
Additionally, we truly wish that you had reached out to our team at [email protected] before leaving multiple negative reviews. Our team prides itself on our customer service, and our aggregate user feedback proves that we offer industry-leading customer service. Regrettably, we were unable to make this seller commit to a post-auction sale with you despite our best efforts.

The company utilizes deceptive business practices.
The company utilizes deceptive business practices to solicit potential sellers, and the company is clearly operating with a wholesaler mentality.
Discussions regarding reserve values are non-negotiable.
I would highly recommend that potential sellers look elsewhere to fulfill their needs.

Hello Douglas,
We're sorry to see that you are unsatisfied with the experience you received at Cars & Bids. After reviewing your submissions, we can see that our views on your requested reserves are quite different.
First and foremost - sellers are allowed to request any reserve they want. However, this is a request and not a guarantee. Our team diligently reviews each vehicle that is submitted, finds comparable vehicles for sale and considers special conditions for individual vehicles. Only after this thorough review does our team respond to reserve requests.
Looking specifically at your three submissions, there were numerous comparable vehicles, including brand new models for one of your submissions, available for thousands less than your reserve request. While you, as a seller, are entitled to ask whatever amount you would like for a vehicle, Cars & Bids is committed to offering fair and reasonable conditions for both buyers and sellers. Our commitment to this balanced approach has provided us and our community with an excellent sale rate and many record-breaking results.
We genuinely hope that you consider us for sales in the future, and would be happy to discuss any of your submissions in more detail if it would be helpful to you. You can email us at [email protected] at any time.

I wanted to sell my 1995 GMC Suburban…
I wanted to sell my 1995 GMC Suburban and thought this might be a good site. I filled in the details and they asked if I had a reserve, I replied I did...apparently they don't like putting ads with reserve. They responded back that they had rejected my application and gave no explanation. I emailed them back to give me a reason so I understand what works for them but they never responded after that. I could have been a potential buyer for one of their cars at some point in the future, but now I am not sure I can trust this site - I get the impression they only do what works best for them , however they should learn sometimes a little courtesy goes a long way.

Hello Dave,
Thank you for providing us with feedback on your experience. Unfortunately, not all cars submitted to our team fit the site well. Here at Cars & Bids, we focus on a specific set of vehicles that best fits our community and audience. We have evaluated your car and appreciate you sending it, but we’ll have to pass on it for now. Our team is constantly adjusting our acceptance criteria and is incredibly happy to hear that you were able to sell your car so efficiently.
Feel free to email us at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Hello Derek,
We're sorry to hear that you are not satisfied with the outcome of your Rover auction. While setting a value on a non-V8 Rover SD1 is quite difficult, your result was the highest recorded sale according to classic.com in that category. As our community identified in the comments, V8 and special edition SD1 models routinely bring more money than the 2600 models.
We are additionally thrilled with the engagement your SD1 received on Cars & Bids. Choosing to go no reserve helped the SD1 achieve more than 12,000 auction views, 90 comments, and impressive social media engagement on multiple platforms.
We sincerely hope that you consider us when listing future vehicles. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at [email protected].

Bought a Vehicle but it went bad..
Bought a Porsche on their site and went to pick up the vehicle and it was totally misrepresented. The pictures were all taken in a way to hide flaws. I also had engine issues also. There was also a big scratch that happened after the auction started and the seller did not notify me. Cars and bids offered no support and said just try to work it out. Beware you have been warned.
Response from Cars & BidsNov 5, 2022
Hi John,
We apologize for your negative experience using Cars & Bids. In the rare case where a car is misrepresented, we always work with both the buyer and seller in an effort to reach an amicable solution.
After reviewing our recent sales, I couldn't identify a Porsche with a winner named John that had these issues. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with more information so we can assist.

Illegal business practicies
I attempted to use the website of the company (Cars & bids) to post my vehicle for sale and the company emailed me that the vehicle matches the car's listing criteria. They kept asking if I want to change my mind and I list the car as a "no reserve" auction in order to make sure that the car is sold no matter what the auction closing bid might be and that the company gets its 4.5% commission of the sale regardless if the consumer got his aimed price or not. I declined that offer as I want to preserve my financial asset in the car and not sell it below a certain price. Later, they replied that they will not list my car for auction UNLESS I chose the no reserve auction. That is nowhere is their website nor their policy that lists such requirement not to inform the consumer that the company may solely make such a choice for its own financial interest with no regard whatsoever to the consumer's financial interest.
In regards to the company's response: The uniform commercial code clearly states that "Such a sale (auction) is with reserve unless the goods are in explicit terms put up without reserve". So the company can't solely decide if a consumer must auction his item as a no-reserve or not. You simply violated and infringed on the consumer's right.

Hello,
We're sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with your experience using Cars & Bids. As we explained when reviewing your E-class, running cars at this price point with a reserve just stops bidding. While listing your car at no reserve may sound scary or daunting, the truth is a good percentage of our nearly 10,000 auctions are no reserve and only a handful of sellers haven't been thrilled with the outcome. With over 275,000 registered users viewing and bidding on auctions daily, it is rare the bid will not meet or exceed the market value of a vehicle. Most sellers thank us for the recommendation and comment that they are pleasantly surprised with the outcome.
With all of that said, we're sorry that we couldn't come to an agreement on listing your car. We wish you the best of luck in selling your Benz and appreciate you bringing it to us.
