Hi Robert, We're sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with your experience on Cars & Bids. We've reviewed your account in-depth to understand the issue. You submitted your STI-swapped WRX to us with a requested reserve, and we offered guidance that our expectation of a market price was substantially below your requested reserve and that your car would perform best at No Reserve - clarifying that at No Reserve you would be bound to sell the car at the final bid price. You agreed to list at No Reserve, agreeing to our Terms of Use that clearly state an auction may not be canceled or withdrawn after it goes live. With one day remaining in the auction, you let our team know that you did not intend to sell the car if it did not exceed a certain value, that amount was greater than our previously mentioned expected value. The auction ended and did not meet the value you wanted. After multiple days without follow-up, you told us and the winning bidder that the head gaskets blew on the car, and you would not feel right selling the car in that condition. Your car is currently listed on Facebook Marketplace - 15 days after the auction ended - without mention of blown head gaskets. Cars & Bids invests substantial resources into researching, writing, and presenting each vehicle we list for sale. We sent you an invoice to cover these costs on your WRX. You have clearly broken our Terms of Use and are no longer welcome to bid, sell, or otherwise participate on Cars & Bids.

Hello, We have asked for more information through Trustpilot so that we can best address your concerns. We're sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with your experience on Cars & Bids, and would like to know more so that we can review your specific experience and improve our processes. Our team is constantly reviewing market conditions and reacting to fast changes in vehicle values. Many of our valuation team members come from years of experience in valuation at CarMax, and are well aware of their purchasing position and policies. Our reserve offers are routinely much higher than a CarMax offer, though your specific scenario would assist us in understanding the disconnect in your case. Please provide us with more information through Trustpilot, or contact our team at [email protected].

Hi Szczepan, We're sorry to hear that you're unsatisfied with your experience submitting your Model 3 to Cars & Bids. Our valuation team works diligently to set appropriate reserve prices that ensure success for sellers, buyers, and Cars & Bids. Reserves that are substantially higher than market values are a detriment to bidders, wasting their time and deterring them from participating in future auctions. They are also a detriment to the seller, wasting substantial marketing effort and time to not ultimately sell their car. Finally, they are a detriment to Cars & Bids, who invests substantial effort to accurately market the vehicle and receives zero income from an unsold auction. Our team explained this and the specific pricing conditions affecting first-generation Model 3's to you through our in-site chat. We wish you the best of luck in selling your Model 3 at a price you are happy with, but have extremely low confidence in a sale at the reserve you requested given the price reductions we've seen on Teslas like yours. If you have any specific questions for our team, feel free to contact us at [email protected].
