I hired a car via EasyJet from Faro airport. The car hire company concerned was Klass Wagen. In my view EasyJet should not be recommending this company and I hope they stop doing so so that other people don’t have to start their holiday with the same experience as us. Firstly our flight had been delayed by almost 7 hours due to technical problems. When I called the company on arrival to request the shuttle bus, the first thing they told me was that I would have to pay a penalty for arriving late. The rest of the experience at the car hire office was very unpleasant and the agent aggressively tried to encourage me to take out their way expensive insurance product. He also charged me additional fees for the toll token and a deposit for this. They then refused to accept my credit card even though it was perfectly valid. In the end, as I had a very bad feeling about the company and as it felt that they didn’t really want me to rent a car from them I asked to be taken back to the airport. I forfeited the rental fee and had to pay 100 euros for a return taxi fare to our hotel. I took photos of the office when I left and was threatened with the police if I didn’t show them I had deleted the photos from both my photos and the recently deleted file. The taxi fare and lost booking fee was a small price to pay to be free of having to deal with Klass Wagen any more. Please EasyJet stop using them. They are damaging your reputation and making a misery of many people’s holidays. Thank you.

Back in June I booked a hire car with SIXT through Easy Jet when we booked our flights to Glasgow. When we turned up to collect (in Oct) SIXT refused to release the car saying we didn’t pass security checks. Both my husband and I had full clean licenses and had been driving for over 10years. We also have a good credit history with no debt (so no reason why we failed). Neither SIXT or easyJet would tell us why we failed and neither would give us a refund. Tried to contact both companies once we got home and both still refusing to give us any money back. It’s worth mentioning that this experience was only made more stressful by the fact that we were travelling with our 5 month old. No help or customer service provided by either company.

EasyJet car hire is not easy jet. They allow third party brokers who use their branding but who are consistently awful scammer’s according to the reviews and my own experience. As we were more than two hours late (car trouble missed flight ) I paid for new flights and phoned Avis to advise if late collection. When we arrived we were told that we were considered a no show as more than 2 hours late and that we shouldn’t have phoned Avis we should have called them. No refund, they didn’t give a damn about the customer and even when the nice lady from Abid asked them to help they wouldn’t. The call handler was arrogant and basically said tough luck. People please book direct for any extras.

I booked car hire in Faro through Easyjet. The booking voucher gave a number to phone on arrival. It was permanently engaged. When I finally arrived at the off-airport car hire desk there was a queueing system. I was giving a ticket stating that I was no 30 in the queue. A fellow passenger told me that he had been waiting for over half an hour for the queue to move from 16 to 19. My assessment was that it would have taken several hours to wait. After about an hour I gave up and got a taxi. Having eventually got through to Easyjet on the phone this morning they said they they would not entertain any complaint unless I had been waiting for over 3 hours!

Absolutely terrible service from easyjet car hire. Unhelpful staff that would not release a car that had been booked and paid for because it was in my name and at the last minute I could not fly with my husband. The booking was in my name and they would not transfer it or help at all....but the flights were booked for both of us and the car added onto the same transaction. CRAZY. My husband had to get a car from another company and we lost ALL our money. I will NEVER trust easyjet with a car hire booking again.

They are as bad as everyone says, I wish I’d seen the trustpilot reviews before I booked with them. We arrived to pick up the car only to be told that the hire company couldn’t accept any of the Mastercard or Visa cards I had because they are all debit cards rather than credit cards - that makes no sense. They then explained that they could in fact accept debit cards (hooray) but only if I bought their insurance which I didn’t want or need. The car rental was €64, the insurance was €221. EasyJet partner with this car rental company and appear to endorse their extortion. I’ll never rent a car from easyJet Cars again. I’ll also avoid booking any flight with easyJet in future - if enough people do it maybe Stelios will realise his car rental operation is a disgrace.

Never hire a car with Esayjet car rental. Our flight Easyjet were more than 2h late. When I arrived in Edimburg, The car compagny Hertz told me that our car (that I had booked with easyjet car rental) had benn canceld because we were more than 2h late. We had to pay an extra 300 pounds to get our car.
