Awfull We waited for our car for 2 hours

Awful experience! Flight delayed, called easyJet 2 hours in advance from LGW to update them to prevent issues on my arrival to Toulouse but they wanted to charge me £55 to change booking within 48 hours (all I was requesting to do was delay collection time to accommodate for late flight delay). They agreed to waiver it but then they needed to rebook another car (still don’t understand why) and charge me extra £ as only a bigger car available. I refused and they wavered. They then booked my arrival time at destination. Arrived right on the dot (easyJet informed if late I would be cancelled with no refund) and hire centre closed. (We were 2 women stranded at 1130pm in a foreign country without a car). Staff were appalling and failed to refund or deliver car, kept apologising but with no offer to help with supplying a car and was told to book a car locally. Avis had a car for £322 which I had to book. All easyJet say is they’ve opened an investigation for original booking - any ideas how I may get a refund as I feel I have a battle on my hand. I feel easyJet have Stolen my original booking £ as failed to provide what I booked and paid for. DO NOT USE - book direct with another provider, I would hate for people to be stranded like I was with no onward travel late at night and forced to pay another provider. A very distressing ordeal! I was so upset and affected my reason for travel as impacted me financially.

The worst ever experience that I had. The booking was done and the whole payment was done. However, I was told they can't give me the car. I lost my whole money and was left clueless without the car at the airport.

Do not book car hire through EasyJet, it is a scam, I was charged €900 deposit 56 days later I am still waiting for it to be returned.

I booked night before flight. After paying I got an email saying I needed a credit card to collect car. It is not clear this is a requirement until you pay. I contact support - they said because the booking is less than 48hrs away it cannot be cancelled, and no refund would be given. Also note: I paid for extra addon to reduces my excess to £0. They make this look like an addon from the rental company.. but it is not. It is underwritten by random insurance company... So will be an absolute nightmare to sort out with months of admin and headaches to resolve if you ever needed it. I will consider avoiding easyJet in future for flights, as they deserve some financial loss for this scam. I hope governments will one-day acknowledge that this as criminal activity - every step of their service is designed to exploit people and steal money and not provide the service they're advertising.

I hired a car through EasyJet from Pisa airport. The company was called Surprice. Absolute shambles. No address was given for them on the EasyJet details. The main car hire office is within easy walking distance of the airport exit so I went there. Big mistake! This company, Surprice, turned out to be operating out of a portacabin several streets away from the airport - too far to walk with a suitcase. No evidence of a shuttle bus. Had to get a taxi. When I got there - a long queue. They tried to sell me additional insurance because they alleged the one sold through EasyJet was insufficient. They wanted to take a 900 euro deposit on my credit card. They finally reduced this to 400 because I kicked up such a fuss and gave me a bigger car. Clearly they knew they were pulling a fast one. There were other people who had booked through EasyJet all suffering the same - credit cards bring refused, distress, confusion. It was taking, on average, 1 hour to deal with each individual customer! It was an absolute disgrace. The whole process for me took over 2 hours before I finally . Even then, the car wasn't properly valeted when I got it. It was exactly the same when I returned the car - long queues and endless arguments. Still no evidence they have refunded my drpofut. Surprice is a shoestring operation. EasyJet are cutting corners as usual. Do not hire a car through them.

Hired a car through Easyjet thinking it would resolve issues with schedule changes. Milan Malpensa, Surprice, via Easyjet/Cartrawler. Appalling. We arrive in Milan a few mins late, no worries, by the time we got through we were fine. We waited over 40 mins for a shuttle to come to the terminal, despite suggestions there was one every 5 mins, and despite calling Surprice twice. We arrive at the carhire desk to find a huge queue of over 20 different parties. One french couple said they had been waiting over 4.5 hours with no car in sight. Yes, 4.5 hours! We asked the desk staff how long, after the usual gruff non-response, someone suggested, after a further 20 mins or so, that we would need to wait about 2.5 hours. On the basis that we had no confidence whatsoever that we would get a car after those 2.5 hours, we abandoned, went back to the terminal, and were in a car provided by Sixt within 25 mins of making an initial enquiry. And now, yes, you guessed, Easyjet are refusing to give us our money back. They said we refused the car, so they can't refund. I said we didn't refuse the car, it wasn't provided within a reasonable time of the arranged booking. I asked where in their T&C's it says that a 2.5 hour wait to coleect the vehicle is a reasonable time to collect the car, and also how that might constitute a reasonable level of service? I'm still waiting for an answer. The moral of the story? Do not use Easyjet, CarTrawler, Surprice if you are expecting anything approaching a reasonable level of customer service.

Do not book with Easyjet car hire. They only use companies who require a credit card deposit. If you don’t have one they will only allow you to hire if you purchase their premium hire package at an extra cost of almost £200. If you want to amend the booking to another supplier then again it will cost- an extra £55. Awful and costly experience!
