The providers listed on your site should be contacted or made to update their status. EVERYONE I contacted has either moved away, or is now not looking for fulltime. Also, your app should have more search options.

I have tried it several times when regular catsitter not available. Really want someone can rely on long term but most on here have full time jobs and its hit or miss if can Petsit. Or have services with prices beyond what we have paid ($20 per visit). Or say they catsit but really are dog siters and our cats shy away when visit. Better to ask veterinary offices if have techs who sit. That is where got last one.

I have found excellent caregivers on Care.com, and I really like the way you can filter for your requirements. In my case, I have to find someone who can work with an autistic child. On the negative side: While it appears that there are many people available in my area, there are way fewer people available in reality. This is VERY frustrating. Even my own regular babysitter has an active profile. This is misleading, because I'll reach out to someone who is already working, and he/she often won't bother to respond, or will respond that they are not available. This seems to be designed so Care.com can continue to get fees from users like me, because I have to contact a dozen people before I even get a return message. This could be avoided, if Care.com chose to charge people for posting their profiles--give incentive, in other words, for removing their profiles once they got hired. The other aggravating thing is that some people post their rate range, but when you contact them, their rate is higher by $5 - $15 per hour. This is not the fault of Care.com, but rather the posters. It just makes me want to go elsewhere to find care.

I have used Care.com in the past and am dissapointed that many of the care professionals I have contacted never respond and/or I don't get anyone interested in my positions. It's very expensive for taht kind of response.

People are posted but then when you contact them they're unavailable. I've overpaid for this service.

I did a premier plus background check with care.com on a lady I was interested in hiring from their websight It came back clear. After hiring her I found out she was the caregiver from hell and i did my own background check at the county to find out that she had 4 arrests for dangerous drugs with hypodermic needles and a fraud and a forgery arrest. She also had a DUI. All of these were convictions and she spent 3 stints in jail along with others convictions that gave her probation and community service. I would definitely hire from an agency and pay a little more where you are assured that they have done their due diligence to make sure that the people in your home with your loved ones are trustworthy

Countless caregivers but 98% of them have no amount of courtesy to reply. Some apply, interviewed and then no show after scheduled for work.

I reached out to care.com to report an incident as well as reported the involved profile. While I understand that care.com is not in any way responsible nor does the site endorse a profile, I was extremely disappointed that no one followed up with me. When there is a report made of any nature, particularly security, it should be a top priority from a service stand point, to ensure that person has been contacted. You failed.
