I have used care.com exclusively for the past 5 years to identify special needs providers for my daughter. The quality of the applicants has been superlative. The most recent schedule the site has adopted has been pretty much useless, however. The majority of job applicants do not update their availability so it is impossible to see if/when a candidate wants to work. Many on the site seem to keep their listing open while not having any time available, making the pool of available caregivers look much larger than it really is. it also requires sending out many requests to find one who might have available hours that match your needs. I wish there were a better way to do this.

I interviewed(at my home after your client called me personally) and I hired her. I agreed to her terms(higher pay and her flexible hours) and she emailed me 1 hour prior to her start, and said she "couldn't work for me". She did not call or give me an appropriate warning. I was depending on her to show up that afternoon. It affected my schedule, my husband's and my childrens. I am extremely disappointed. I am hesitant of using your service.

I have had great experiences hiring excellent babysitters from Care.com. I have moved several times and have relied on them to find good people. Finding people when moving to a new area can be very challenging, and I have always trusted the site.

I reviewed Care.com very poorly when they asked how they did. Basically, the service was subpar from other sites and the price for background checks was high. We advertised for a nanny and when applicants applied, they either didn't respond to conduct the phone interview, wouldn't allow the background check, or after the phone interview would flake on in-person meetings, etc. I know this isn't Care.com's fault, but when they asked how much I enjoyed the service, I rated them poorly and cancelled my premium services. They said they would be in touch and the next thing I received was this invitation to review them here. They should know enough to filter who they are asking and not just blast out review requests after not responding to the previous poor review.

Had a horrible experience with customer service. I subscribed for a year at a discounted rate. When my 1 year was coming up for renewal I never received a notice that I was going to charged. I didn't realize I was charged until I received my credit card statement 30 days later and I was 4 days past the 30 days time limit to dispute a charge and customer service wouldn't give any exceptions. I even said I would pay for the 1 month and asked if they could credit me the remainder of the year. They would not even give any exceptions. I have been a customer for over 5 years and spent a lot to Care.com. I would expect more out of customer service. I don't like companies that steal good customers money that work hard for their money....especially when I don't need their service. If would be nice to suspend my account and then stop my year until I decide to reopen it....at least I would get my money's worth.

Even though I have an upgraded membership, it is extremely difficult to contact providers. I contacted about 25+ providers between October 22 and October 28. I received about 6 responses. But finally no one showed up to work, even though I had a confirmed schedule.

Because of health problems I needed someone that could do house cleaning for me. I subscribed to the service and they were able to put me in contact with 11 people that I could interview for the position. I have gleaned them down to two and will make a decision today. Their profile tells me their experience and what they will do for me when cleaning. Also shows how far they are from my home and if they furnish cleaning supplies or not. If I were doing this on my own there is no way that I could have these results.

I think all the sitters applications should include a photo. I really can't trust someone my children if I don't see their face, I think a photo can give you an idea of who are you talking to. I haven't found many help through the site, and the applications I have got were few, so I had to just pick the better one from the little amount of applications I received. Also, once I had a meeting with one candidate and after coming to my house and said yes, she sent me an email saying she didn't feel was a good fit. That is a little scary because I already showed her my house and everything, so what was the point of coming. Anyway, I hope I will have better luck in the future.
