I signed up to be a petsitter and so far the only people that have contacted me are potential scammers. And the fact that we have to have a memebershil just to look at replys is ridiculous. I regret even paying for memebershil bow because after reviews im seeing they renew your memebership even after you close your account and the only way to actually fix it is to call care.com and not deal with it on the website cause it wont do anything. I dont know about this website, false advertising at its best.

The concept is appealing, but after having wasted time and effort on this site, I understand that Care.com just send a lot of non valid and non-initiated proposals out from totally innocent and unaware people, that have their old data in care.com database. In this way they try to convince new clients to sign up and pay registration fee. I feel that i'm lured. I have declared my money back, and got them via Paypal, but as they just try to lure me in with non-valid offers makes me really mad. The concept is cool - bringing people together effectively - but Care.com just destroyed it all with their aggressive unethical business model. They made so mad, that I will ask the autorithies in my country to look into the legality of care.com.

Waste of time - Overwhelming number of responses you have to sift through whereas at the end there are only a handful of reliable candidates that actually show up when you schedule an interview. When I emailed the customer care team with a question, I never heard back.

I was referred to care.com by a nanny friend and the family who she works for, as she is great and they found her using the website. I tried to contact a few members who I thought would fit my needs, but only one responded. It has been almost two months. In addition, when I signed up for the basic membership, it said I would have access to background checks-but then after I paid my $45, I had to pay an additional $75!!!! To get access to the full background info. Now they do give you a special deal if you "upgrade" at that moment-but since it wasn't clear until AFTER my upgrade option was gone, that I couldn't access anything but names and bio's, I didn't upgrade. Blatant misrepresentation of services. Having access and having to pay for each background check are completely different and not clearly stated. I'd love to find great sitters but word of mouth is way more effective-and at least I can find real people who are actively working.

When using Care.com I found several potential candidates responded very quickly to my job description. But few of them had actually read the job, so they weren't able or willing to commit to the hours requested. Also most of the candidates that I interviewed either backed out because they found another position, or didn't even respond to follow up messages. For the money I paid monthly, I have mixed feelings about this site.

I have used Care.com for many years now to find nannies and evening babysitters. In every case I have found a really good fit for our family. I will continue to use care.com for any childcare needs my family has!

Signed up at ridiculous rate of $30 to receive 10 applications. Then get charged a month later another $40? I feel scammed :/ My nanny I found is awesome. But don't like how the site works monetarily. Feels sleezy from the start. Also had some people apply that ate up my 10 that shouldn't have even applied because they were unavailable or already in the process of being hired from another individual...

First time user, needed to use Care.com as all of our usual sitters were booked. I was happy that I received a number of reply's. However, the person I chose just didn't show up. She seemed qualified and I chose her partly on that, her age(30 seemed more mature and responsible) and because she was quick to respond. Talked to her, explained that I was new to Care.com and asked what did I need to do on Care.com? Book the time, take down the post, what? She said, don't worry about that, I will be there at ... Confirmed the night before via text, said we were good. Then, nothing. No response to any calls or VM's. We were left in a pinch and had to change our plans. Big bummer. What anger me most was that I had other reply's that I could have gone with. If she even had a 10% feeling that she couldn't make it, then tell me. All round bad experience. Still haven't heard from her and so, thus ends my care.com experience. I am sure there are good folks out there, just not this one.
