They don't Care about people, it's all about making money. They charge $60 for a background check (available to the families interested in hiring) which is then deleted every 6 months and expect underpaid Nannies to continue repaying!!!??? THAT WAS JUST ONE EXAMPLE! Unethical Practices, Someone WILL TAKE THEM TO COURT!!!

This is a scam
This is a scam. The responses are managed automatically by the system but not by real humans. I got only one response out of dozens inactive caregivers. The response I received did not prove professional. She kept me texting but finally said sorry to provide services. Initially, I paid £23 for a one month subscription but they renewed it automatically to premium membership and charged £29 for it. When I expanded the detail of £29 deduction on my bank statement, I found the following details:
Care.com, Berlin, Town Berlin, Country- Germany.
On their website, there is no option of cancelling your subscription. You can only downgrade it but not cancel it at all. The customer service number is not responding asking you to leave a message. This is a total scam, please do not use it.

Super bad
Super bad. Tons of caregivers but none has updated profile. They don’t reply. Not sure why they are charging money for membership when almost 95% of their caregivers are not active and don’t want to work currently. Wasted my money, time and efforts ( which is already freaky hard to find for a new mom) 😢

Untrustworthy site
Untrustworthy site. The caregiver seems to be more respected then the paying costumers. The caregivers are unresponsive and unreliable at best. They seem to shift from job to job way to often and are just way to unreliable, regardless of a 30$ an hour wag!

HORRIBLE WEBSITE!!
HORRIBLE WEBSITE!!! The females on here are unreliable, and unprofessional. They’re just looking for an easy paycheck. I’ve repeatedly had someone say they would sit, then never hear from them again. What a waste of money!

This is a scam site
This is a scam site. You sign up and they automatically post a job for you using stock text if you don’t write your own words. Then you have to pay to read responses.
None of that is clear. If any legit nannys are on the site, this is why parents appear to post jobs but not respond

I've been hired for a few jobs on…
I've been hired for a few jobs on Care.Com. Some parents don't even bother to respond to your application sometimes. Even if they do they stop replying after the first initial message. Also DO NOT GET PAID THRU THE APP. I babysat for a family on Saturday the 17th they paid me thru the app before I left. I got the notification email and my bank was all set up and everything. It is currently Wednesday the 21st and it hasn't posted to my account yet. I got ahold of Care Support and they said they put a 3 day hold on my payment and that it should be deposited by tomorrow which was yesterday. I am very frustrated. It should have been an easy process but it has been nothing but a pain and I will never ask to be paid through the app again

Great 10 year experience with the app
Skimming the reviews here, from families and providers alike, I was shocked at the bad experiences both have. I've been on the site for 10 years, and it was as great 10 years ago when premium membership wasn't a thing for providers as it was in the last two years when I purchased it. I don't have a problem with it as the site provides me with opportunities. I've been hired each of the three times I've actively looked for a job within a month. That being said, yes, sometimes it takes 30 applications to possible great match. Sometimes I apply and during interview realise that we are not as good of a match as I initially thought. When that happens I respectfully decline. I interview the family as much as they interview me. What I do see is many families looking for top rated caregivers but trying to pay $5-10 per hour less than the caregiver of their liking is asking for. A great caregiver knows their value, even if it is an "easy" job (that's the term some families like to use when the work is not that physically demanding). Caregiving is more than lifting someone, for me caregiving is being resourceful in my care, tailored to the specific needs of the current position, finding ways to make it as optimal as possible beyond the initial "this is how we do things around here". I also see care providers jumping to jobs posted even though they see discrepancies to what they are looking for and then soon those become the reasons they quit (I've seen those issues discussed on the caregiver forum in the app). I know that any rush into starting a position as it is sometimes necessary to fill a position/get a job, but a little more thought usually results in long time employment that is beneficial to both sides, we aren't dealing with products here that are easily returned when we are not satisfied, but with living beings that need care.
