My wife is terminally ill, I needed help so I signed up.
In 12 months only about 5 carers were local to me and NONE were available when I contacted them.
They NEVER emailed me to say they were taking money from my card and I've now paid over £300 for NO care.

Avoid!
I'm so glad I read these reviews before spending any money.
I just wanted to browse the site to see if it was what I was looking for, but you are pushed to make an account just to be able to explore the site. After joining, it automatically creates an ad for you, which is worrying.
But the worst thing is that you have to pay if you want to use the site in any capacity - the messages I received were censored of any and all useful information, and I'd have to upgrade to premium to access them. That set alarm bells ringing, before I even had the chance to look at the exorbitant prices. I was even considering paying, but thought I'd better check here first. So glad I did!

Absolutely disappointed and at this…
Absolutely disappointed and at this point disgusted by the way this company operates and treats paying customers. Customer service is basically non existent and a total waste of time. On top of that they OVERchange auto renewal of accounts - despite proof of an approved upon cost at the time of sign up. Isn’t that illegal?! Then when you try to contact someone for help you are waiting an literally hour to speak to a representative that cannot solve the problem. I have only been on care.com for a month and already , due you so called “technical issues” I have had to spend over 5 hours total dealing with this ridiculously managed company. I just got off the phone with a rep, trying to again fix an issue that was originally reported and discussed 3 weeks ago. After 1.5 Hrs I was told they are still working on it! It’s been 3 weeks! I asked to speak to a manager and was told the process to speak to a manager is to email and request it. I have never dealt with a company like this. Care.com either needs to get with the program or should shut down. I really hope that another company comes around to give them some competition. At this point they have a monopoly, so paying customers just grin and bear it. My next move is to file a dispute with my credit card company and contact the BBB. That’s all we can do I guess.

Terrible Customer Service - Not Understanding to Parents at all
I initially signed up for care.com premium service at 10pm and was charged $39. The next morning, I contacted care.com at 8am to see if I could cancel and they would not refund me. I never used their premium service and they just don't care about the parents that use their site. It's quite disappointing since their name is CARE.COM that they would at least understand each situation is different especially during this panemdic where people don't have jobs...
Very Disappointed. at the end of the day, this is just another big corporation that doesn't care about their customers and only care about their bottom line.

A WHOLE LOT OF GARBAGE
A WHOLE LOT OF GARBAGE!
Keep sending me potential nanny jobs in my area.......and that's as far as it goes......get sent the families' profile, if it looks suitable i'll respond via the 'i'm interested' option. Only to get no response from that family/profile whatsoever!! Grrr i worked it out early on in the piece, only a subscription fee will get me the 'replies' & 'views' shall we say....even then i have reservations ???
DECEPTIVE-DECEITFUL AT BEST.
Go on Gumtree and delete your account! That's what i'm doing right now!!

I HAVE 2 CAREGIVERS WORKING FOR ME PART TIME THAT I HIRED FROM CARE.COM SITE IN THE PAST YEARS BUT HAVE BEEN LOOKING AGAIN DUE TO NEW ADDITION TO FAMILY AND NEEDING MORE HELP
I HAVEN'T HAD TO HIRER A NEW CARE GIVER FOR QUITE AWHILE BUT I DO LOOK AT THE WEB SIGHT JUST TO SEE WHO IS AVAILABLE AS I HAVE NEEDED SOME EXTRA HELP FOR A WHILE DUE TO A NEW FAMILY MEMBER LIVING WITH US. ALSO I HAVE USED CARE.COM SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE PAST 10 OR MORE YEARS AND I HAVE HIRED SOME REALLY GOOD CARE GIVERS FROM THEIR SITE. THE KEY IS TO DO AN INDEPTH INTERIEW, HAVE A TRIAL PERIOD TO TRY EACH OTHER OUT, AND CHECK REFERENCES!!! I'M NOT THRILLED THAT MANY OF THE PROFILES DON'T UPDATE THEIR AVAILABILITY SO IT'S HARD TO KNOW IF THEY CAN WORK WHEN I NEED THEM WHEN I'M JUST LOOKING AT PROFILES. . I HAVE GOTTEN THE BEST RESULTS BY POSTING A VERY COMPLETE JOB DESCRIPTION STATING -JOB REQUIREMENTS AND WHAT MY CHILD'S NEEDS, BEHAVIORS, LIKES AND ECT ARE. THAT WAY ONLY THOSE THAT ARE INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE WILL ANSWER THE AD. AFTER THE LENGTHY INTERVIEW I ASK IF THEY ARE STILL INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED FOR THE POSTION IF THEIR REFERENCES CHECK OUT, SOMETIMES THEY WILL SAY YES, BUT CALL A DAY LATER AND CHANGE THEIR MIND, BUT OTHERS WILL BE INTERSTED. IF I CONSIDER THEM A VIABLE CANIDATE, I BEGIN CALLING AND TALKING TO THEIR REFERENCE. IF I HIRER THEM, I TRAIN THEM WITH SUPERVISION. THE FIRST DAY OF TRAINING IS NON PAID BUT I PAY FOR THE NEXT FEW DAYS OF TRAINING. THEN WE BEGIN A TRIAL FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS TO SEE IF IT'S A GOOD FIT. ONCE THEY MAKE IT THROUGH ALL OF THAT I HAVE HAD GOOD SITTERS. I HAD ONE THAT I HAD TO LET GO AFTER SEVERAL MONTHS BECAUSE SHE WAS UNABLE TO GET HER DRIVERS LICENSE WHICH WAS AN UPFRONT REQUIREMENT. I GAVE HER SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES AND HELPED WHERE I COULD BUT IT DIDN'T WORK OUT. I SEE CARE.COM AS PROVIDING A POOL OF PEOPLE TO SELECT FROM WHEN YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A CAREGIVER, AND SOMETIMES IT DOES TAKE A LONG TIME TO FIND THE RIGHT PERSON, BUT THE SAME WAS TRUE WITH A COMPETITOR OF CARE.COM. HOWEVER THE REAL JOB OF PICKING THE PERSON THAT IS RESPONSIBLE FOR TAKING CARE OF OUR FAMILY AND BEING ALONE IN OUR HOME WITH OUR CHILDREN IS UP TO US. OVER ALL I HAVE BEEN HAPPY WITH CARE.COM, ALTHOUGH I THINK THEIR PREMIUM ACCOUNT SHOULD BE A LITTLE LESS EXPENSIVE, BUT I STILL HAVE A CAREGIVER THAT WORKS PART TIME THAT HAS BEEN WITH ME 2-3 YEARS, AND ANOTHER ONE THAT COMES ONCE A MONTH EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS A FULL TIME JOB AND COLLEGE DEGREE NOW. SHE STARTED WITH ME ABOUT 6 OR 7 YEARS AGO. THEY ARE LIKE FAMILY AND I FOUND THEM AT CARE.COM. I

Total scam - fraudsters
Total scam. Paid for the premium membership and reached out to every caregiver listed in the area - 10% response rate - actually less than that - all fake profiles, stating they are fully booked - so why "advertise" such unavailable profiles ONGOING. Posted an ad for care give - more than 50 responses, of course "have to upgrade to premium membership" to communicate with MORe "FAKE" profiles. Horrible. Should be shut down

Be careful as there's issue with fake reviews and dishonest caregivers
Be careful as the caregivers/nannies/babysitters are barely vetted by Care.com. It seems like anyone can just sign up. All 3 nannies that we interviewed were dishonest and lied about the experience they had. There are also issues with fake reviews for each person. Be really careful and ask for resumes and references up front before bringing them in for an onsite interview. Ask questions that test their knowledge of newborns and ask details on their job experience. Example, if they claim sleep training experience, tell them to walk you through specifics on the last infant they sleep trained. We ended up going through personal referrals and didn't trust anyone we found on the site. No wonder care.com charges a fee up front to contact instead of based on hiring (e.g. taskrabbit).
