I used there services and only selected one month for membership which is around 50 dollars. I found a nanny within a week and was done. I didnt use it anymore. About 2 months later, I saw they charged me another month and when i called they said I was supposed to login after hiring someone to downgrade because they 'automatically' renew regardless of how many months you request when signing up. They do not give refunds even though clearly I didn't even touch my account for the past 7 weeks.
It's really disappointing that they do this - especially at a time when many people are struggling to make ends meet. As you can see from the other comments here. I recommend you use their competitors. This is very sneaky.

CARE.COM IS A CON
USE CARELINX.COM
#1. YOU CAN GET YOU MONEY BACK.
#2. FILE ONLINE COMPLAINTS WITH YOUR STATE DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS.
#3. WATCH HOW FAST YOU GET A REPLY AND YOUR MONEY.
I have used care.com for more than 7 years and have had the opportunity to become employed by wonderful families. Keep in mind, this was most likely before this creature of a company turned into everyone's worst nightmare. I return to my education, completed my masters degree and at this point Care.com was an entirely different beast. Many, many repetitively fake and obviously dangerous postings. I was so disgusting and disappointed by their refusal to take active measures to remove the numerous fake postings and I guess became a thorn in their side and was removed without a reasons, which was fine with me.
From another end user subscription, I began to realize what they were doing, Care.com made those fake postings as both provider and care seeker. They constructed this to keep charging for subscriptions with no results for anyone. So.... you are believing that you found a legitimate contractor, who isn't responding to your messages and you are also wondering why this posting for help wanted isn't responding to your messages. What you will get are guaranteed charges to your account as job seeker and job poster. That is the hustle. Post fake jobs that have the exact wording, from almost all 50 states all the while keep billing on bother ends. Please... their lack of responsibility to legitimate background checks gives access to dangerous people who create profiles, Care.com says is basically at your OWN RISK. They are nuts and diabolical.
I don't remember how I found them years ago, Carelinx is NOT an agency, with huge fees, its a very safe, stable and extremely responsible platform. Care.com can't and WILL NEVER come close to them. Carelinx provides a wonderful opportunity for families to find stable, reliable caregivers with verified background checks $20. They provide an opportunity to create a care plan with the provider, allow you to choose to either pay off the book or on the books within the app and provides accounting for taxes to make the process easy. I have had the opportunity to acquire affordable health and dental, and I have completed almost every updated online courses they offer to keep my skills up to be the very best in my care. Due to the complexity of creating a profile, MUST HAVE BACKGROUND CHECK AND PASSING, you must pass a multitude of courses prior to having the ability to search for openings, there is no monthly subscriptions. They make their money mainly from those who chose the route of paying taxes and a fee is charged weekly prior to your pay, which is very fair. Basically, its not a site for lazy folks to put in the time, and would not allow dangerous folks to have any access. Good luck everyone, and be determined to get your money back. This rats nest of an agency, Care.com knows how to play the system, we have to learn to play the game too. Care.com is not untouchable.
p.s.
Upon researching Care.com there have been articles about horrid experiences, even deaths, from folks who utilized this crazy site and from what I can speculate, its not owned by the same entity and who knows may not even be in the US.

Unethical business practices
This company uses misleading and unethical business practices. Multiple "proceed to cancellation" links in tiny font in order to cancel your membership. I thought I had gotten through all of them and cancelled but, no. They charged me again the next month. When I emailed customer service, they refused to refund the charge even though it was an honest mistake and I hadn't even used the service!

Do not use ever
Do not use ever. £108 for an annual subscription. Set up auto renewal and despite trying to cancel it before they started the next renewal period they refused to refund me for a service I am not using. Consumer rights don't help. My bank won't help. Avoid. And trust pilot is pointless asking it doesn't matter what the other 1300+ bad reviews say they can still trade.

AWFUL APP! GLITCHY! LAGS! MY ACCOUNT WENT POOF!!!!!
I've been using care.com off and on to find jobs since they first started. Back then I experienced glitching, lagging, and all kinds of technical issues. I'm back again and NOTHING HAS CHANGED AT ALL. ITS AWFUL.
I have created a very nice profile with tons of info, 3 5-star reviews by parents I've worked for before, and I keep up with my availability and messaging everyday. Yet they won't give me a "CarePro Badge" bc I refuse to sign up to get paid through the app and I also won't pay $150 for a background check that a parent has requested. There are so many outside company's that will do it for so much less. So even though my profile is really outstanding, I do not get the responses I should bc I'm not a so-called "Care
Pro" by their guidelines.
Well, I've been having technical problems like crazy lately and I called Customer Service yesterday. I could not apply to any jobs. She told me they were, indeed having issues and to try some things, which I did, but now it seems that my account has TOTALLY DISAPPEARED and they aren't recognizing my email or sign in info. It's as though it's been WIPED OUT and I cannot sign in. I refuse to start all over again as it's a lengthy process to set up your profile.
I had a phone interview with a parent today and she said she has problems all the time as well and she said she saw my profile up yesterday but that today it was gone!!!!!
I'm fuuuuming!!!!!
And I'm certainly requesting a few months refund bc of the problems.
It is such a shame bc it COULD be a GREAT APP!! There's nothing else out there like it but they need to spend the money on updating the app and staying current and functioning!
Best of luck!

Care.com is useless unless you pay...and pay
I didn't understand that Care.com is completely useless unless you pay them money. You can post a job, but can't respond to any provider inquiries unless you pay. You can search the care providers, but can't message them unless you pay. There is absolutely no point to going on the site unless you want to get into a monthly payment relationship with them. As someone who was looking for a one-time service, I was reluctant to sign up for ongoing payments (and there's no way to just pay once for a one-time service). After seeing how many negative reviews there are, I'm glad I didn't give them my credit card number!
