Very shady website, I advertised for a childcare position and was informed that I had 2 replies to my advert but to see them I would have to pay a subscription, it did point out it would be recurring but I only needed one month and was desperate so I paid, now it gets shady. I opened the messages to find they were not messages at all but the apparent child carers profiles which could be read using a free account, these were forwarded to me by Care.com themselves and were not a reply to my ad so therefore fraud, after checking through some of the ads it appears that few if any are actually real, I decided to cut my losses and cancel my subscription but the website hides this so it appears you cannot unless you email them etc, In the FAQs it outlines how to downgrade or cancel but if you follow the instructions there is no link as described also the tab to change membership directs you back to the homepage. I found that if you go to "contact us" at the bottom of the page and choose cancel subscription from the dropdown it then goes into a lengthy "are you sure?" button clicking exercise but does seem to cancel you back to a free account, I have received an email to confirm this with the date my "premium" account expires so now I just have to wait and see. Definitely avoid this website and their shady practices I wish I had read the reviews on here first

Wat een oplichters! Je meld je aan en krijgt dan een automatisch abonnement. Van maar liefst 35€ per maand! Ik heb mijn abonnement nu 2 x gedown grade en ze blijven maar afschrijven! Niet aanmelden dus

The website just wants money to get any information. Ridiculous

If zero star was an option it would be too much. The sitter I got, left my infant in a her jumper for four hours covered in poop. I checked my cams and my little love was balling her eyes out (45 mins). Almost had to quit my job to come home. Savannah K. Paid $25 an hour, I wouldn’t trust her watching my animals.

DON'T BOTHER WITH THIS "SERVICE". Nothing is transparent. No phone numbers or ways to reach a live human operator. You will only get auto generated emails that offer no resolution and simply infuriate you. It is easier to cancel a magazine subscription. Even Fakebook allows you to delete your profile. Not so at CARE.com who are basically professional money extorters who purposely design their site so you never reach any live person or have any clear idea as to what you are paying for when you "join" their site. Additionally they continue to charge you EVEN IF YOU CANCEL..... You are led to believe it is free the whole way and then required to pay before you can access your profile. You cannot delete your data/profile or your credit card information. Cancel whatever card you used to sign up for this shady operation. I have already notified my bank of this scam, ordered a new card and disputing all charges current and future for immediate refund. The offer was to TRY IT FOR FREE!!! Seriously what a rip off. If it is free, there should not be any charges. It appears as though jobs are available until they get your money and then you find out there is nothing near your area. Which for me is well over 85 miles and is useless. This company is a master BAIT AND SWITCH. BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY!!!! HIDE your Credit Cards and your DATA from these people.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. They charged me $62.85 per quarter. I thought I was paying for a membership for a year. I have paid 3 quarters before I caught it. My fault, but I want others to know about this slimy business. They are deceptive from the start. I tried getting at least the last quarter fee back and was told NO REFUNDS! Pathetic buiness model. Too bad, it's a great concept so I thought. I will never use them again.

I am another who has been stung by this shoddy company. Absolutely terrible subscription model that you can sign up to in error. I went 2 months before noticing they were relieving me of £30 a month for doing diddly squat and not helping me find the care I was looking for. When I complained they took over a week to reply with the longest email I have ever received from a company. Suggesting to me that they get an awful lot of these complaints and their main money earner is scamming people out of their hard earned cash. The candidates were scarce for my area and the messages I received didn’t actually seem to be from the candidates themselves but from Care.com suggesting these people to me who then ignored my messages. Avoid this website.

I’ve been paying for the use of this site for a year & a half. Meeting families hasn’t been an issue (plenty of them ghost you after an initial phone conversation or interview, though, which is likely a sad statement about society in general). The problem lies in Care.com’s customer service. It is abysmal to non-existent. In fact, I’d go so far as to say abusive. I’ve been trying to email and chat in their chat room for over a week regarding why they are blocking some PAYING MEMBERS from accessing the Community board where nannies can support one another. They tell me I’m next in line to speak to an agent, then they’re “connecting me to an agent”, then BAM! I’m 7th in line - again. I’m canceling my PREMIUM membership. Good riddance, Care.com!
