Care.Com is shady and misleading! I'm a parent who reached out to a particular babysitter to request her services. In the next few days, I receive messages from multiple sitters, letting me know they are available to babysit. When I click on the message thread, Care.Com made it look like I reached out to them with a personalized message that read, "I need a sitter and was wondering if you're available to help me." I never sent messages to any of those sitters. It's really violating because my name and photo are on the account and it looks like I sent personal messages to a bunch of people when I did not!

They were charging me monthly $39 and they make it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription. There is no # located on the site (on purpose) and when I did find a number they told me they couldn't find the charges even though my bank confirmed it was coming from Care.com and the last time they charged me was two weeks prior. Basically they were telling me I can never cancel my subscription because they couldnt locate it.

Horrible company!! The caregivers never respond to your messages and I’m assuming it’s because they are no longer even active or available. There is no person that you can even contact on Care.com to discuss your issues. And most of all they charged me $155 for an annual subscription that I never agreed to and they will not give me a refund. Terrible company and terrible customer service. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well

I think you--and other companies--need to remember there are some of us very senior citizens who need help like longer time on chat, larger print option, etc. I am trying to find help for my husband, post CA/radiation/etc., and me, congestive heart failure, and we are both 85 so added stressors just make it tougher to manage life.

If I could leave zero stars I would. This company does not care about anything other than making itself money. They will take money from you, never give you a refund, then also not help you!! I’ve had help Chat agents just close the chat box mid-conversation. Also extremely unhelpful emails that essentially led to nothing. I’ve had to reach out multiple times JUST to get my account deleted and honestly don’t even think it will.

Difficult to receive messages. Could not open or view messages to respond effectively.

This company is a scam. You can get nothing done on their web site unless you pay for the privilege of accessing their web site, and the price is steep. And good luck getting off their email list. Avoid this company at all costs.

In September of 2022, I hired care.com for finding weekly home care for my elderly mother. The fee was paid by Apple Pay for one time only. Apple Pay informed me that my subscription was about to end and would be canceled if I did not renew; I chose not to renew because we found outside help through a family friend. I assumed the matter was closed and that I would no longer be billed. Recently I inquired about a suspicious billing to my bank account (unrelated to care.com), however the agent also brought up care.com's billing to me. Unfortunately, they can only challenge two bills, which they are in the process of doing. I also reported care.com to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who in turn forwarded my complaint to the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) Consumer Assistance Center, which stated that "[they] have determined that your concerns do not appear to involve a federal law or regulation for which the NCUA is the primary regulator. They said they would forward my complaint to the Federal Trade Commission, but that it could not "resolve individual complaints." Hence, after 18 months of care.com stealthily bilking my bank account for upwards of $730.00, I have nothing to show it. None of their billing charges appeared in my emails or my Payment History on my accounts page. The only billing that was shown was my initial payment through Apple Pay. After reviewing many of the reviews and based on my own experience, I can only come to one conclusion: care.com is running an ongoing, flagrant billing scam that unfortunately goes unchecked by any government or judicial bodies. In other words, you are not protected financially when you hire care.com.
