I have had a mortgage with Cardinal for several years. When the pandemic hit I received a letter from Cardinal stating how much they wanted to help their customers during these difficult times. They offered the forbearance program which suspends your mortgage. I suspended 3 months. I was told their loss mitigation department would be in touch with options for repayment. I NEVER heard from anyone. I called the loss mitigation dept several times and if I was lucky enough to talk to someone They offered no help. Eventually I received a call from an agent, Jennifer Salgado saying I was eligible for a loan modification with a lower interest rate. This was in June. I did all the paperwork and e-signed all the necessary documents. I was told everything looked good and I should close in July. And then I waited and no one contacted me. I finally called the Jennifer and she told me that another Agent, Dana, had been assigned and should have contacted me. Well that never happened and now we are in August. They misplaced my application. Finally Danna contacts me be email asking for documents that I had already sent. In September I paid the 3 month suspension and the forbearance was removed although no one at Cardinal could or would verify that. Dana kept asking me for the proof. I send her a copy of my mortgage statement showing it was paid but she insisted on a letter. I asked if she could contact that department and have them send her a copy. She said they don't talk to other departments. I asked her to call me which she never did. Next thing I know it is the end of October and still no closing. I contacted Jennifer and they wanted yet more documents. Now remember this is a remortgage. I have been paying my current mortgage all these years. After all these months of waiting and submitting document upon document. Jennifer tells me that Cardinal will not grant me the new loan. Currently I am paying $795 monthly 3/4 of this payment is interest and only 1/4 is applied to my principal. The new loan was $150 less with a lower interest which more of my payment would have gone to my principal. SO I can make the higher payment but I can't make the lower payment. WILL someone explain that to me??? Cardinal is greedy, their staff is incompetent and they certainly are not working for their customers. Do not use them. It is just too stressful. After reading all the negative review above, I am sure I will get a reply that they want to talk to me and apologize for such a horrible experience. I don't need anymore talk..... I need action from a company that is truly willing to help their customers. I really don't even want to give them ONE star. Oh yes, Merry Christmas......... Regards, Kathy

Well, I must say FINALLY my 1st payment date is corrected by the Cardinal Financial Advocate Team of Virginia, Laura, Loretta, THANK YOU LADIES! As this was none of your doing, they did their job and cleaned up everyone else's inefficiencies. **RATE IS STILL A 2 FOR THIS TEAM: NO CHANGES: I hope that accountability to my REFI team from North Carolina, Alicia Chermansky (Loan Officer), Dawn Simmons (Loan Closer), Jesse (supposedly Supervisor), Robert M.(Supervisor of Supervisor) understand the BASICS of Customer SERVICE "Courtesy Response" "Follow up Response" regardless if it's good or bad news JUST RESPOND timely. I JUST PRAY THAT MY FINAL DOCUMENTS THAT ARE FILED ARE CORRECT and I receive my final closing doc copies. Also, that I have no extra fees or negative reporting for the 1st error of 12/1/20 payment. Be careful with these guys. I received a call from one of their agents, I provided information to know how much benefits I could have refinancing my house with them; later a began receiving letters with a Loan Number assigned in my name. So, they used my information to open a Loan with them, without any authorization from me, any signed paperwork or so. That is not an honest way. Again, be careful with this company.

Cardinal Financial refinance experience was best refinance experience I’ve encountered over the years. I’m retired, and have refinanced many times, this was very good experience.

I was extremely pleased how smooth overall the process went. Kendra, made the process flow and with very little flaws. When we had an issue with either needing additional information or just a simple question she was on it. Thank you Kendra for the smooth purchase. Sincerely, Rick Moses

My Loan Originator, Kate Wilson, stayed positive and helpful through a long process of satisfying her underwriters with paperwork. She was responsive and informative in communication as well as patient. And I got a great interest rate with low fees.
