Daniel Moore, agent from Cardinal Financial, assisted us on a refinance of our second home in Southport, North Carolina. He did everything he promised. Our new interest rate was so much lower than we had. He processed all the paperwork and answered all my questions. Great job!

NOT RECOMMENDED
Eric, one of their employee (based in Arizona) contacted me for a refi of my mortgage, he got all of my informations, and then we agreed to talk again between 12-1 pm. He gave me his number and he told me that if he didn't receive a call from me, he will text me for a reschedule. I called as agreed, he didn't answer. I left a voice message. No return call at all. I wonder what happened why all of a sudden, after collecting all of my personal informations, he just disappeared. I am now contacting a friend who is a lawyer since i feel like i am now at risk for identity theft.
I do not recommend this company.

Worst lender ever
Worst lender ever. I’ve dealt multiple lenders without any serious issues. My experience with previous has been has been they provided me a list of all the documents they’d need supporting the information I provided in my application. After I provided the documents it was rare to be asked for additional documents. Maybe they’d ask for clarification of some items, nothing more. These people strung me along over two months requesting documents piecemeal, which I believe is very unprofessional. This process took so long that the rate lock date expired despite the fact their representative promised me twice that what I was providing was the last they’d ask of me. The local representative was unhelpful and AWL through this process. I finally got tired and went to a different lender who told me recently had taken on over twenty clients with similar complaints. Even worse, several complained that at the of closing they were confronted with higher rates and closing charges than what had been published during the application process. Save yourself the headaches, do your research, there are literally thousands of lenders clamoring for our business. We don’t need to be treated the way they have treated me.5761 SW 14th Street

I recently completed a home loan…
I recently completed a home loan refinance with Peter Domingo of Cardinal Financial in New York. He started off by explaining the process, he was attentive throughout and kept me informed of every step. Peter's experience was greatly evident but his customer service was even greater.
I previously had a bad experience with Cardinal Financial but Peter restored my faith in the company. I highly recommend him.

Terrible
Terrible, terrible, terrible service!!!!! If you’re in need of a reliable, professional, and responsive mortgage company, go elsewhere. I’m a realtor, I reached out to Cardinal to refinance our home. They sat on our application for 45 days and then sent a change form for us to sign. Changing our out of pocket expenses from $2300 to over $11,000 with zero explanation. After four emails, six phone calls to both our loan rep, processor, and their supervisor, I FINALLY received a call back six days later with some lame excuse as to why the numbers changed. By that point we already moved on to another lender. We’re all busy, I get it, but this is not how you treat clients. I would never, ever, recommend Cardinal to anyone.

Shady business practice
My name is Charles Williams. After getting married in August 2020, my wife and I decided to purchase our first home. I spoke with one of my Army buddies about a mortgage lender, and was informed that he was funded through Cardinal Financial. He said that he closed on a home in about a month's span. After hearing about how they helped my friend, I was under the impression that Cardinal Financial were well versed with VA home loans. I am a veteran, so naturally, we decided to move forward with a VA home loan. We were initially told by Cardinal Financial that we were pre-approved for $486K. Happily, my wife and I signed and dated the pre-approval letter. After spending countless hours searching, we were excited to have finally found the perfect home. We promptly provided each piece of documentation that was required and asked of us. However, due to Cardinal Financial being highly unorganized, and "misplacing" our documents, we were forced to waste even more time by providing multiple copies of the same document on several different occasions. On each occasion, they would tell us that they never received our documents, when, in fact, we had tangible proof that we sent them. That was very frustrating, to say the least.
Cardinal Financials' communication over the past month and a half was beyond disgraceful. We CONSTANTLY had to email or call them if we desired a status update as to where we were in the home buying purchase. Their failing to return our emails, calls, and voicemails became habitual. Speaking to someone regarding our loan status was similar to pulling teeth, and it seemed like they did not care to have our business.
Just TWO business days before the home closing date, we were informed by Cardinal Financial that we had to come up with a whopping $32K in order to close on the home. This was shockingly disturbing, since NO ONE from Cardinal Financial, at ANY given time, disclosed that we had to come out of pocket for such a significant amount of money in order to move forward with closing on our dream home. On all of the original documents that we signed, it was stated that we needed only $5K for closing costs. As it turned out, Cardinal Financial sloppily miscalculated our loan amount, and failed to realize it until only a couple of days before our closing dates. This speaks massively to Cardinal Financials' negligence and incompetence when it comes to managing VA home loans. As a veteran, I feel utterly disappointed and perturbed that they seemed not to care enough to ensure that they completely understood how to manage my VA home loan. Cardinal Financial made us jump through unnecessary hoops, and falsely strung us along for nearly 2 months.
My wife and I lost so much while dealing with the unprofessionalism and inadequacy of Cardinal Financial. We lost out on being able to purchase other homes that we absolutely adored (they are ALL sold now, since Cardinal Financial has been wasting our time for the past month and a half). We lost out on almost 2 month's worth of time, which we will NEVER get back. Not one, but two hard credit inquiry for myself and my wife were pulled by Cardinal Financial. We lost out our hard-earned cash, which we are hoping to somehow be able to recoup at least some of it. We chucked out $1,500 in due diligence, $500 in earnest money, and $590 for home/ termite inspection. With all credit due to none other than Cardinal Financial, the home of our dreams, and all of our time, money, and efforts are now completely flushed down the toilet.
During a discussion with our home loan specialist, she admitted that she "messed up" and that she was "sorry". It was more than obvious that not only did she mess up, EVERYONE else at Cardinal Financial that had anything to do with our loan messed up as well. Needless to say, with EVERYONE that was involved over the course of the past almost 2 months, what began as a mistake quickly spiraled into full blown NEGLIGENCE. And, again, we found out ALL of this ONLY two business days before our closing date.
I called Cardinal Financial in order to obtain the telephone number to their corporate office. Rather Cardinal Financial being confident enough in their OWN practices to disclose the contact info of their corporate office, I was merely told that they have a complaint office that deals with these types matters. I left a detailed voice mail. Needless to say, given Cardinal Financials' lack of concern for their clients, defective tact and customer service, and unprofessionalism, I have yet to receive a returned phone call from their so-called complaint office. Instead, the loan officer's supervisor contacted me with laughable claims that Cardinal Financial did their job and that they did nothing wrong. He then admitted countless times that they DID, in fact, "mess up".

Terrible experience - Delays, Bad customer Service, Repetitive Requests.
Terrible experience - Costly delays, repetitive requests, bad communication overall
Terrible experience so far. Over 100 days and counting. Lack of supervision and loan officer asking for same documents to be updated and notarized over and over again. Often sending emails requiring new timely info for the next day at 11pm to midnight of the day before! Closing postponed multiple times. We proved assets several times the refinancing of our mortgage. Just seems like inexperienced people are handling cases. First agent that started process assured us that they have been inundated with requests and delays are due to lack of enough people to handle the pipeline.
Very disappointed especially since we opted for this service BECAUSE of its high reviews here. Just noticed a bad review being excluded as being "investigated" by Octane. Wondering if the bad reviews are really making through this venue.
Very sad.
