Not for everyone
Cal.com has a great product if you are either an individual/small team or looking to use the API (with low volume). I began using cal as part of our agentic scheduling workflow for managing cold email pipeline. The API has a rate limit of 120 requests/minute and once you hit it, instead of giving you a warning, they just turn off your account. And they do not provide any context as to why. It took 5+ support messages, and DMing their team on LinkedIn/X to get my account re-enabled and getting context into what happened. We spend about $600/mo with cal and the support we have received does not reflect that. So to summarize: if you're using it with low volume, it's a great tool. But if you're looking to build with it and use the API with any sort of volume, you will struggle.

Thanks for sharing this, and I’m really sorry about the experience you had. What happened does not reflect the level of support we aim to provide, and I assure you it's more of an isolated occurrence rather than the benchmark for it. To add some context, the API rate limit is there to protect platform stability for everyone using Cal.com. We enforce those limits to prevent excessive load from impacting overall performance. That said, we should have done a much better job of making the cause clear and helping you resolve it quickly. We do return rate limit information in our API responses, including signals when limits are being approached. However... In that amount of high-volume workflows, those warnings can be easy to miss if they are not being actively monitored. Your feedback is fair, and it highlights two separate issues on our side: the experience around account restriction, and the quality and speed of communication afterward. Neither should have felt this difficult. We appreciate you using Cal.com, and we also appreciate you calling this out directly.
