My LE launcher has been messed up since day 1. The first pull of the trigger causes the first projectile to fall out of the barrel and the CO 2 cartridge expels a worthless waste of gas. I called the help line to get help and was told that the 14 day return was expired. It took longer then that to receive the device. Time has passed and since I get no help from the company, I continued to practice with my device and at this time, out of the 5 shot magazine, I get maybe 2 shots, the rest fall out the end of the barrel. The upside is the projectiles are easy to find and to use again and I'll never have to buy anymore of the overpriced projectiles again.
My advice to Byrna is to fix your screwed up designs, use quality materials and use quality workmanship. Put a longer warranty on your product and back it up with superior customer service. I will wait to see what you do in the future, but until then, I won't be spending anymore money with you. Signed, Pissed Off. If Hanity can say it, so can I.

Byrna values customer feedback and would like to provide some additional information regarding the concerns outlined in this review.
The performance issues described are not representative of the experience Byrna strives to provide. While the review states that no help was provided, Byrna's records indicate that the customer previously contacted the support team regarding these concerns and was directed to submit an RMA request so the launcher could be evaluated. Unfortunately, an RMA request was never completed, which prevented the service team from inspecting the launcher and moving forward with a resolution.
Byrna would also like to clarify that its 14-day return period begins on the date an order is delivered, not while it is in transit. Additionally, all Byrna launchers are backed by a one-year warranty, allowing customers to seek service for covered issues well beyond the return window.
Byrna remains committed to supporting its customers and would welcome the opportunity to evaluate the launcher and work toward a resolution through the Care Center. Even if the launcher is outside the warranty period, service options remain available through Byrna's repair program.
Byrna values customer feedback and hopes to have the opportunity to restore this customer's confidence in both the product and the service experience. If assistance is needed with submitting an RMA request, the customer is encouraged to contact Byrna's Customer Service team directly. The team would be happy to assist with the process and help ensure the launcher can be evaluated by our technicians. Byrna's goal is to help get the launcher functioning properly and provide the level of support every customer deserves.

Bye-bye Byrna. Terrible experience.
I purchased a Byrna CL launcher for my daughter in the hibiscus color. I ordered it early so it would be here for her birthday. When we opened the box, it looked too much like a real firearm in that color. I called Byrna directly and was told that I could not exchange it for another color (I decided I wanted orange for her instead) because I was out of the 14 day notification window. No exceptions. I found this totally unacceptable. This was my second order with Byrna (I have spent over $2000 with them) and it will be my last. I was extremely disappointed in their unwillingness to work anything out with me. Bye bye Byrna!

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience.
Byrna's return and exchange policy is clearly posted on our website prior to purchase, including the requirement that customers notify us within 14 days if they wish to return or exchange an item. In this case, the request was made well outside of that timeframe.
While we understand that you later decided a different color would be a better fit, we must apply the same policies consistently to all customers. Making exceptions on a case-by-case basis would not be fair to those who follow the published return window, and maintaining a consistent policy helps ensure equal treatment for everyone.
We want to emphasize that our return policy is not hidden or difficult to find. We make every effort to provide this information clearly so customers can make informed purchasing decisions and understand the available options should they need assistance after delivery.
We appreciate your business and are sorry we were unable to accommodate your request under the circumstances. We wish you and your daughter all the best.

Dont buy anything from these crooks!
Dont buy anything from these crooks!
I researched a Byrna LE launcher and learned that the latest LE Gen 2 model was a significant improvement over the previous generation. Since the Gen 2 version of the LE had been available for many months, I felt comfortable in making the purchase.
On June 27 I placed my order on the Canadian Byrna website and continued to gather additional information about my purchase. On June 30 I chatted with a Byrna customer service rep and asked her to confirm that the unit I ordered was the Gen 2 version.
To my surprise, she said that the LE launchers shipped to Canada are NOT the Gen 2 version - they are the older Gen 1 version, a clearly inferior product. When I said I was unhappy about their deception she claimed that the difference between the two versions was only cosmetic.
According to the information on the Byrna web site her claim is absolutely FALSE. The product description on the web site, that I used to make the purchase, does not specify which version is being sold. Elsewhere on the Byrna website though, they sing the praises of the Gen 2 version.
It's a classic bait and switch scam! They should not be allowed to get away with it!
Update 1
Nice try. Byrna happily/deceptively sold me an 'old stock' Gen 1 LE launcher months after the new Gen 2 model was being sold and glowingly reviewed in the US. They deliberately sold (@ the same price) the Gen 1 models to Canadians only - until they ran out of them.
At no time, did they differentiate between the Gen 1 or Gen 2 models on either the Canadian or American web sites. When I complained about this deception, they said that the pictures of the Gen 1 LE on the Canadian site were 'clearly' different than the pictures on the American site AND that the differences were only 'cosmetic' anyway. Keep in mind that they did this in the context of the many very convincing reports by US customers that the Gen 2 model noticeably outperformed the Gen 1. They even had a link to a YouTube review of the fabulous new Gen 2 on their site! There is no doubt in my mind that they did this because they wanted to dump their old Gen 1 models on Canadians while they sold the new improved Gen 2 to Americans.
Isn't it funny that the Canadian site NOW sells the Gen 2. I guess that model is not so 'specific to the U.S. market' anymore.
They claim that I should have noticed the difference based on a couple of different pictures and they continue to claim to me that the devices are identical, despite the evidence.
THIS is a blatant lie!
From the LE description on your site:
"The Byrna LE features a completely redesigned trigger interface and valve assembly to fire .68 caliber rounds at speed of up to 330 feet per second. The new trigger design on the Byrna LE allows for a much smoother and lighter trigger pull, providing a better experience for the shooter."
That sounds like a very significant upgrade!
An ethical company would have told purchasers that there was a Gen 2 model coming out and offered the Gen 1 at a discount.
Update 2
You removed your first deceptive reply entirely and wrote some new lies to replace it. Obviously that was because the second set of lies you told contradicted the first set. Being deceptive is clearly central to your business model.
I will continue to inform people about your deceptive practices. So far I have successfully steered 3 of my friends away from purchasing one of your lame products.
Update 3
You:
"Canadian-specific compliance and labeling requirements that differ from those in the United States".
Will you, in the spirit of honesty and fairness that you so fully embrace, describe the DETAILS of that new 'compliance'?
Of course not because that would reveal yet another lie 😂
Update 4
You cited 'labeling compliance' for the delay in offering the Gen 2 in the Canadian market. If Byrna was so concerned about making their package labeling compliant, why did they sell me a Gen 1 in 100% NON compliant packaging, that was clearly for the U.S. market only. In other words, you blatantly broke the same rules that you falsely claimed were the reason you didn't sell me a Gen 2 in the first place.
The shocking facts are:
"Byrna smuggled dangerous firearms, in non compliant U.S. only packaging, into Canada and illegally sold them to Canadian customers. Obviously, this was an attempt to dump their old U.S. stock of Gen 1s in Canada so they could sell the Gen 2s in the U.S. "
I wonder what the BBB, Trust Pilot, and Canadian government regulators will say about that...
Due to your failure to do the right thing,
on Monday, I will:
1. Report the above to the relevant Canadian government agencies that regulate this from both a Customs and a Trade perspective.
2. Start posting this information on YouTube. It will become a bright orange rash of ill will on every related mention of your company.
Do the right thing...
Response from Byrna TechnologiesJul 2, 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We strongly disagree with the characterization of Byrna as deceptive or unethical and would like to clarify several important facts.
At the time of your purchase, the Canadian LE launcher product page accurately depicted and described the product being sold. At no point did the Canadian website advertise, describe, or represent the launcher as a Gen 2 model. The photos, specifications, and product information on the Canadian site corresponded to the launcher customers would receive.
While information about the Gen 2 LE launcher was available on Byrna's U.S. website, those products and product offerings were specific to the U.S. market at that time. Customers purchasing from the Canadian website were purchasing from a separate storefront with its own product listings, inventory, regulatory requirements, and product availability.
We would also like to address the repeated claim that the Gen 2 LE launcher is more powerful or substantially outperforms the Gen 1 version. This is incorrect. The changes between the Gen 1 and Gen 2 LE launchers were cosmetic and ergonomic in nature. The internal operating system, barrel, trigger assembly, and performance characteristics remained the same. The Gen 1 launcher was not an inferior-performance product.
Regarding returns, Byrna's Canadian store clearly discloses that Canadian orders are final sale and are not eligible for return. This policy is available to view before purchase and is applied consistently to all customers. Your request was handled in accordance with those published terms.
More recently, the Gen 2 LE launcher became available in Canada after additional requirements specific to the Canadian market were completed. Its later availability in Canada does not change the fact that the product listing at the time of your purchase accurately reflected the launcher being sold.
We understand that you would have preferred a different version of the launcher. However, we reject the assertion that there was any deception, bait-and-switch, or misrepresentation. The product delivered matched the product shown and described on the Canadian website at the time the order was placed.
We appreciate your business and regret that your experience did not meet your expectations.
Response to Update 2:
Our previous response was updated to provide additional context after the Gen 2 LE launcher became available on the Canadian website. The update was made to add information, not to change or contradict any facts previously provided.
We would also like to reiterate that there was never any effort to "dump old stock." The delay in offering the Gen 2 LE launcher in Canada was due to Canadian-specific compliance and labeling requirements that differ from those in the United States. Once those requirements were satisfied, the Gen 2 version became available for sale in Canada.
While we understand that you remain dissatisfied, we respectfully disagree with the claims that Byrna engaged in deception or misrepresentation. The product delivered matched the product that was pictured and described on the Canadian website at the time of purchase, and our responses have consistently reflected those facts.

BAD advertising
Heard ad on 6-12-26 for the Byrna LE Gen 2 @ $100 Off on 2 different Radio talk shows. On 6-13-26 in the morning i went to order and advertised price would not get honored although there was Absolutely no mention of a sale ending date on the ad. I was going to order 3 and they flat refused to honor price. After reaching out through customer service, the situation was corrected and price honored.
Response from Byrna TechnologiesJul 2, 2026
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We apologize for any confusion surrounding the promotion.
After reviewing your situation, our team was able to honor the advertised sale price and assist you with your order. While we understand the initial confusion was frustrating, we're glad we were able to resolve the issue and provide the promotional pricing you were seeking.
We appreciate your business and thank you for giving us the opportunity to assist you.

Product was misdescribed on their website but they refused a return anyway.
Product on their site was described as 97mm in length when it arrived it was 120mm in length. I called inquiring how to open a return for the misdescribed item and they told me there were no returns. You are in America, you do need to take responsibility when you have not described your item correctly (please reference the consumer protection act). A chargeback has been initiated. You could have kept a customer for life but I'll get my money back anyway and use a more reputable company in the future.

This company sent me two launchers that were bad out of the box. They fail to have a contingency policy for replacing bad equipment . They require an RA and they stand on their policy to inspect and repair the new unit rather than sending another new unit. They also require the receipt of the bad unit before they will consider sending a replacement even though they accepted payment instantly. They don't understand what customer service means and I have been the initiator of all correspondence. I asked for a call from a manager and all I received was a dismissive email. They don't make the inspection of new units that were bad out of the box any type of priority. I wouldn't recommend them at all.

Very stringent return policy of 14…
Very stringent return policy of 14 days. Requested to exchange an unused launcher pistol for the orange one. It was an Xmas gift for wife and she wants the orange one instead of black. Was told there is NO exchange policy even if item unused. Poor policy!
Response from Byrna TechnologiesJan 26, 2026
Thank you for your feedback. We understand how disappointing this was, especially since the item was a Christmas gift.
Our return policy is clearly posted on our website and applies to all orders. In addition to our standard 14-day return window, we also offered an extended holiday return period.
Unfortunately, the request was made outside of both timeframes, which is why we were unable to approve a return or exchange, even though the item was unused.
We appreciate you sharing your experience, and your feedback is passed along as we continue to review our policies and customer communication.
