This company is from hell. Trust me. If you want to rent, you'd be better finding an actual, legitimate leasing company to rent from instead of a company who writes their leases as if it's an actual contract with Satan. Deceptive, immoral, careless. The "representatives" through the EMAIL ONLY "leasing office" DON'T know the leases like they assume. Get an actual lawyer to review your lease because they WILL lie. Not only that, but the units are dingy, the leases are predatory, and I know many people who have been so perplexed by their experience with Bungalow (and should honestly sue for pain and suffering). This company will shut down soon. It was the worst renting experience I have. LISTEN to the reviews and RUN (if you care about your own sanity).

I do not pride myself on writing bad reviews; in fact, I seldom do. However, this company needs to be held accountable. I will post this in as many places as I can to help guide people in any direction BUT this company. As a first-time renter this company may seem attractive but things that look too good to be true often are. Bungalow doesn't pay their rent on time despite residents paying in a timely fashion. The actual property owner and the State of Oregon tried to evict us more than five times, serving notices for lack of payment. (I have these letters showing thousands of overdue payments). Ironically, they rent these properties for pennies on the dollar (these documents show what they are obligated to pay for renting. It's about 1/4 of what the total house pays.) Normal maintenance and repairs for the property come out of RENTERS pockets (this is highly unusual). Example: clearing a kitchen sink drain at the cost of over $400 per resident. They do not inspect the rooms prior to moving in; they're often filthy. My room had no light bulbs and trash scattered in the private patio and side yard. I repainted all the walls in my room (my expense) because dirt and stains were everywhere. We had an infestation of bugs that sent a resident to the hospital too. Bungalow not only ignored the problem but made us pay for carpet cleaning and extermination. Furthermore, they are impossible to contact over the phone. I challenge you to find a phone number where an actual human picks up. After you move in and sign, the tides turn for the worst. We had issues with roommate theft and damage due to lack of proper vetting. This company could not care less about renters and they shameless display this after moving in. I strongly advise you to look elsewhere for housing. Without a question the worst renting experience I've had in over ten years as a renter. What a sad excuse for a company. If I was a betting man, I'd expect a stale automated response to follow with no resolution for current residents.

Bedbugs upon move-in, that were not dealt with until I had put in 3 days work contacting public tenant advocates. I then had to move out for a month while they got people to do a heat treatment. This month was not compensated despite the fact that bungalow was aware of the issue and did not disclose it to me when signing the lease. When I moved in half the fire alarms were unplugged as the system would go off at random times. Exposed electrical cables dangled, and when I cleaned the house at second move-in (a week's endeavour), I found multiple dead rats stuck in places like behind the stove. No security screening for roommates, ended up with someone that threatened everyone in the house. Not even evicted, but given the option to opt out of his contract after a police report was filed. I was never given an option to opt out of that awful house despite trying very hard. Maybe I should have been violent? You will be overcharged for everything. A $5 replacement part for a washing machine cost 100 per tenant (6) when done through Bungalow. No transparency on billing, they will give you a phone number that doesn't work. Impossible to get a hold of someone that works at bungalow, only way to communicate is through their in app chat where responses in broken english would take days or be totally ignored. The definition of slumlords. This company needs to be investigated for malpractice. Avoid at all costs.

Renter Beware STAY AWAY! My experience is very similar to all the other terrible experiences you can read on here. Bungalow is very convincing and super easy to communicate with when you're first getting signed up then after you move in they ghost you, raise your rent and change the policies of your lease. They are nearly impossible to get a hold of and have the worst customer service iv every experienced.

Bungalow doesn’t hold up to the lease agreements. Tenants smoke in the home while others have asthma and cause for an unhealthy living environment. Their are mice in the home and homeowner hasn’t gotten the house an exterminator. This makes for unhealthy living conditions and it isn’t safe to live in. The furniture is all broken and old as well.

Once you sign the contract you are completely alone and support is nearly impossible to obtain. If they do get around to helping you be careful because you will be racked with fees even if the maintenance requests for example were preexisting. They dont let you see the place in advance but the contract says they give you the opportunity. Read the cintract CAREFULLY. It is astonishing how corrupt the agreement is. I had to rush through the process to avoid homelessness but i know better now.

How do I start this review: Terrible response times on getting service in the house, after living there for 2 years I decided to only contact the owner of the property for anything to deal with the house. Service fee goes to broken furniture, and terrible service. They charge for cleaning now which is overly expensive. Lackluster house in general and the roommate process is also super frustrating, getting bombarded with 100s of messages a day while maintaining a full time job is extremely hard and just be fixed. Keep in mind I lived in my property for over 4 years and I would never stay there again. When I moved out they charged me for over 100 to clean the room I was staying in which was the size of 9*9. They offered me no proof the room needed to be cleaned after I spent time myself to make sure the room was returned in amazing condition. When I fought with them over this high fee they said it was standard and if I didn’t pay it they would report it to the credit bureaus as unpaid rent. The people I spoke to were rude and wouldn’t give me proof that a $100 cleaning was needed. I am currently looking at recovering the funds through alternative methods. All in all do not stay with bungalow never have I seen such terrible service and slum lord esque policies.
