Top notch work & Joy to work with. Mike gets the job done like a good neighbor or partner. He stopped by the day I requested a quote and a few minutes later we shook hands. Then an hour or two later a crew was clearing my gravel driveway of weeds, leveling the ground, digging up the boundary lines and reinstalling wood tie posts. The next day a big crew came in laid down several inch thick asphalt, rolled it down and sealed it. I wish every contractor I've dealt with during my home remodeling was half as good an experience. If you want a fair deal done right call Mike.

Great Company, Great Products
We purchased a Delta Arvo Pressure Balanced Shower System and a Delta Haywood Centerset Bathroom Faucet. Both items were in stock and fast shipping. Both items work great.

Very disappointed, Not worth it.
We were REALLY disappointed in Build zoom!
We wanted to be able to build a home, but had no knowledge of the process, the pitfalls, and who were reliable, vetted, architects, or contractors. We were also very busy and did not have a lot of time to do all the legwork ourselves.
We told them of our situation and that we were novices at this process.
For $10,000 (installments) ( you can cancel the contract but you don't get all your money back, as you pay them in "stages" ). They assured us they would guide us through the WHOLE process.
They would, at the very least, save us the amount of money paid to them, then if we had done all the work ourselves.
First, before you build anything, you need an architect. They gave us some names of architects and we talked to them. One had Never designed or had their home design built in the area where we are from. We found "on our own", Different architects have different meanings to what is included in square footage and how their charges are applied. Also, that HVAC systems must be designed into the drawings, and some have an HVAC expert do that.
Another is that structural engineers MUST approve the drawings, (possible extra charge) and a ground sample MUST be done where you want your house built, (extra charge).
This was Never explained to us.
In Build Zoom everything is done by Zoom visits, you don't talk to anyone in person. Also, trying to get in touch with them when you have questions, is a pain sometimes. They are not always available when you need them. They will get back to you, if you leave a message, but it could be hours later.
We did meet with a contractor that they provided, but he needed a drawing to give us a true estimate of the cost to build.
We decided to cancel the contract.
We were only in the stages of getting an architect, but we were not pleased with their service and did not feel, after providing them with half their fee, that they fulfilled their obligations they promised us. We had to spend time, on our own, finding things out when they should have provided that information.

Hi Evelyn,
We're sorry to hear that you were dissatisfied with BuildZoom Premium. We completely understand that you were new to the process and BuildZoom is a great way to help busy and new homeowners with breaking ground in their new project!
The $10,000 that was quoted for your premium cost is not standard for all premium projects. The total invoice structure and fee is different for each project. In BuildZoom Premium, the service does include getting you through the entire pre-construction process with a goal of saving you more through value engineering. We do this through collecting bids, comparing those bids apples-to-apples, and then revising them and discussing with the contractor what should be included or excluded to help save on potential change orders that may occur down the road after breaking ground. We even have a contract review for you at the end of the process to ensure that the standard safeguards are in place with any construction contract.
From your review description, it looks like BuildZoom was able to help you understand some of what it takes to go through the pre-construction phase of the entire building process. We guided you towards architects who were able to help you understand what was needed for your build and provided you with more insight into what was needed to complete your structural plans.
We're sorry that you did not feel that our communication was up to standard, however, please keep in mind that just like you, our project managers are busy during the day, and getting back to you a couple hours later seems like a reasonable timeframe for a response.

They have no way to flag fake reviews
They have no way to flag fake reviews. There is one particular contractor that obviously has fake reviews up on Buildzoom, but they have done nothing to remove them or to review them even after repeated emails.
DON'T TRUST THE REVIEWS, THEY COULD BE FAKE.

Hi Lily,
We have requested to receive additional information from you to understand which contractor page you are talking about to check in on the reviews that you claim to be fake.
We have a review integrity team and we require that the person leaving the review provide contact information and some personal info to verify that it’s a real person leaving the review, and not a malicious character or some sort of bot that’s trying to post erroneous reviews on contractors. BuildZoom acts just like any other review platform (Yelp, Google, SiteJabber etc.). We have rigorous checks in place to ensure that accounts on both sides of our marketplace (contractor and property owner) are valid. We do have a process of evaluating new reivews to ensure they are real people leaving the review, and I can verify that we have a high review reject rate because of it.
Please connect with [email protected] to share more information about this.

Hi Dwayne,
BuildZoom partners with over 2000 building departments and contractor license boards across the United States to maintain a database of almost 4 million contractors. Similarly, we receive permit data from city or county building departments, which is all public data. We pull this permit data every day to ensure we have the most updated information for all of our contractors. We also search through the internet for other sources of publicly available information (such as Yelp, BBB, and others).
We never change the names of the contractor pages, unless authorized to do so, by the contractor themself. If you do believe that there is a mixup of permits on your page, we urge you to please request us to look into that at [email protected]. I will check in with our team on your profile on your behalf to see if there is anything we can fix for you.

BuildZoom is good at finding dependable licensed contractors with a great reputation and track record, but I wouldn't recommend paying extra for the premium services!
Update... The last thing I will add is that I'm sure I'm going to get a comment by BuildZoom on how this was my fault and how they did things right and kept my money. Be aware! Read the other negative reviews! A lot of people feel the same way, and BuildZoom just comes back with the same excuse after the same excuse. They should post the recordings of my weekly video calls with BuildZoom for all of you to see, but they won't. There are positive reviews on here, but be careful because once you pay them that large sum of money, you will never see it back no matter how horrible the service is!!!
BuildZoom sounded great at the beginning. It's funny what a salesperson can do sometimes. However, my experience was anything but great! The beginning was good with the introduction to dependable licensed contractors with a great reputation and track record. One of these contractors I really liked and ended up working with him. BuildZoom set up these weekly calls and for a month plus, no progress! It was so disappointing to hear the same update week after week with BuildZoom still having the same action items. I was so frustrated as I paid a decent amount of money to work with them and in my opinion they were causing too many delays, were extremely disorganized and really wasting my time to be on these calls. The contractor I wanted to work with backed out as another job came up because the process was taking too long. I informed BuildZoom that we were no longer moving forward with this project scope and were not interested in working with them anymore. They were unwilling to refund any of my money for my concerns and displeasure and my wife and I had to lose out on about $5,000 for a service that was never provided!
A couple of months later my wife and I decided to revisit, but with a different scope of work as we wanted to figure out our needs vs wants to bring down the costs. I called the contractor back that I liked and said that I'm not working with BuildZoom anymore, not moving forward with the original scope, but have a new scope of work. We came to an agreement and finally the project was completed.
After the project was completed, BuildZoom reached out to the contractor for a fee even though it wasn't the original scope, and I hired him personally on a different project. How did BuildZoom find out? They did some digging to see that a permit was pulled. Not only did I lose $5,000, they went after my contractor for a fee on a different scope of work after I stopped working with them. I did try to express my displeasure again in hopes to get some of the $5,000 refunded, but they weren't willing to work with me at all. I wasn't asking for the whole thing as if it wasn't for them, I wouldn't have met that contractor.

Hi Rick,
As a reputable company, we always want to make sure that we resolve any claim or investigation for our customers and always strive to get to the right resolution. The comments made on the reviews are made after conducting our internal investigation on the claim. We do this for each and every review to understand more about the situation.
Thank you for your overall input on your experience. Your feedback is greatly appreciated!
We're glad to hear that you enjoyed our introduction to a few contractors and glad that the project worked out with one of them! We understand that it can be frustrating to not receive any updates. We invoice in arrears, so we do not bill the customer for any work that has not been completed. Taking a look at the invoice schedule, it looks like the invoices were sent out on a timeline that is actually pretty standard for a project with your description and scope.
To no fault of yours, the service (as outlined in your Premium Agreement) was provided to you in full, and is in this particular case, no refund was provided due to that. The BuildZoom team fulfilled each milestone outlined in your Agreement, and you were able to work with the contractor you liked!
BuildZoom operates as a marketplace business, meaning we service multiple sides of a project. We charge the property owner for a premium service and a contractor a fee for referring them to the project. We charge the contractor for referring them to the job, so the project scope has nothing to do with reaching out to collect a fee for the project we put them in touch with. This is a standard practice amongst all marketplace companies and we do not do anything different here.
