Nothing useful came out of BuildZoom yet. I entered my project roughly one week ago, someone called just to ask about details, which were already described in my request. Then a phone call was scheduled to talk about the project more. Nothing specific or useful came out of these conversations yet. Maybe it's too early to for the site to ask for a review?

Dont trust their reviews
Dont trust their reviews. A contractor can have anyone make an account and give glowing reviews to get the 5 start rating. Website cannot be trusted. When I asked buildzoom about their vetting process they ghosted me. Spending $1.99 for a public records search is better and you will get the truth like I did. Dont waste your time with Buildzoom Their listings are the bottom of the barrel.
UPDATE: IF you do all that you say then you would have never approved this contractor. He has NOTHING in his name per a public records search. NOTHING. You did respond but that is all. The contractors can make fake profiles and make it look like they are great!. again do not trust buildzoom for accurate information. IMO......
UPDATE 2: Buildzoom corrected the site. Again just be critical of what is posted and still investigate. Not everything on the internet is true.

Hi Mae,
We have rigorous checks in place to ensure that accounts on both sides of our marketplace (contractor and property owner) are valid. For security reasons, we unfortunately cannot openly provide our method for evaluating reviews since it does open us up to a risk of having people actually trick our system into falsifying reviews, or having this information leak out to enable others to do so. We do have a process of evaluating new reivews to ensure they are real people, and I can verify that we have a high review reject rate because of it. If anything suspicious or concerning is every identified, we'll investigate it internally. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we have flagged this to our support team to conduct an internal investigation into your specific case.
Additionally, each contractor has a BuildZoom score. We evaluate contractors based on a lot of different criteria to determine if the contractor is the best fit for your project and how reliable they are. Things such as (but not limited to) the number of permits they’ve filed in their lifetime (and in the last 12 months), the number of jobs they’ve completed, the types of jobs they completed, the reviews they receive on different review platforms, the number of years they’ve been in business, their bid-to-hire rate, their licenses, and how responsive & engaged they are with both their clients and BuildZoom. All of these factors, and more, go into their BuildZoom score that ranks them among other contractors in their local area. Reviewing a contractor's BuildZoom score along with their permit history are great indicators of how they conduct their business practice.
It does look like you have recently had a back and forth discussion with someone on our support team. We take our support inquiries very seriously, and due to times of high volumes of messages, it can sometimes take a few days to respond. I can assure you that you have not been ghosted, and I will forward your message to one of our reps who can respond to your latest message.

Misleading indications of licenses
I went to look at a local contractor who people had complained about. I found a lot of symbols visually indicating the contractor had a verified license, but it took several click throughs to see the contractor's license had expired. The information about the license status changed significantly each time I clicked through to verify. Different months, different years appeared. Different wording. The guy had a 91 rating, too. Boston Ma area.

Hi Rose,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This is not something we have seen in the past, however if you are experiencing this, it could be a bug. We are unable to replicate this, so if you do have examples, we would love to see them. If you could please email [email protected] we can have a look and diagnose what this may be caused by.

J Patrick construction
J Patrick construction. Very bad customer service. We are being ignored when we ask for our defective bathroom window to be replaced. It has a sticker imbedded in the glass.
We are also missing a kitchen cupboard that was shown in the picture of the home we purchased.
I had to do all repairs on my doors myself and touch up paint inside and out. No cleaning was done although the builder claims they came out twice that is not true. I even had to remove all wrappings from appliances. The door thresh holds on all outside doors the plastic was melted on and I had to clean it off with a razor blade. Unbelievable. Yet when we reach out to the builder he blows us off!!!
We are so disgusted and think our only hope is to hire a lawyer and go to court. Or small claims court.
