⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Experience – 100% Satisfaction!
As a kindergarten teacher in Quebec, Canada, I had the opportunity to create a wonderful project with my students through Budsies. The children made their own drawings, which we sent to the company to be transformed into custom plush toys. The results were absolutely incredible! We received plush toys that looked just like the children’s original drawings. Seeing their artwork come to life was a magical and unforgettable experience for our entire class.
I would also like to highlight Budsies’ outstanding customer service. International shipping to Canada presented a few challenges, but our representative took care of everything and guided us through the process with professionalism, patience, and genuine care. We truly felt that our order was in good hands from beginning to end.
I recommend Budsies 100%, especially to teachers looking to create a meaningful, creative, and heartwarming project with their students. It is a wonderful way to celebrate children’s imagination, build their confidence in their own creations, and give them a keepsake they can treasure for years to come.
Thank you to the entire Budsies team for helping make this project so special! ❤️

Just don't
Just don't.
They independently decided on colours of the created soft toy and didn't follow the drawing colours. They didn't even try to come close to them. We got a chicken made. They decided to make the head a different colour to the rest of the body even the drawing is all the same colour. Adding stripes when there were no stripes and didn't acknowledge the proportions of the the different coloured areas (a litte patch went 4 times the size than in the picture for example).
I described a front patch on the chest as brighter than the rest of the body and they used a dark brown instead. So the opposite what was shown in the drawing and description.
At the end they showed me a colour chart from a short fur they use, so I could choose the colours instead because they were not able to. The colours I chose matched quite well. Plot twist: that was not the correct colour chart for the medium fur they actually used on the soft toy. So I got a completely different colour again and they told me then, that I choose that colour so not their problem and that it would be a lighting issue. They can't see the difference between a sandy colour and an orange colour.
Unprofessional and not using common sense. It is now months in the making and by the looks of it, I have to pay for the changes they messed up again. It was a birthday present but that is now long over I hope it can be now a christmas present. Never again. So much stress. So much money.
Answer to Budsies reply:
I did ask again for extra support from another person which has not happened yet.
I hope the designers are not doing anything because I haven't seen the correct colour chart yet. I am waiting now since weeks of a picture just for the correct colour chart.
What is interesting is that the other colour I chose are correct but the sandy color I chose is orange. I have a feeling there is a mistake in the naming of this specific colour in medium fur. Because in short fur it looks sandy with an orange hue. The longer fur it is bright orange. That the designer didn't see or understood that I obviously didn't choose an orange, I can't understand. Yes it was named "light orange" in the colour chart but it looks sandy colour and not bright proper orange, what I have got now. It could have been named black or what ever colour on your end, but I chose a sandy coloured material. That you name it " light orange" is not my fault. I chose the colour not the name and your designer should have seen that, because that is the colour on the drawing. It is like talking to AI. It is very frustrating and costly.

Hi Sophia!
We're sorry to hear that you aren't happy with how your Budsies experience has been going so far! We checked with our team and saw that your order is currently in production and being reworked with the changes you requested. Our designers are also actively speaking to you directly to help which is great! They're working as quickly as they can, and have given several options for your plushie and several forms of help throughout the production process as well. For the color choice, our designers always use the original art as the main reference for the plush colors. For specific and additional control over the aspects of the plush, we have a Specialty Budsie available on our website that's available! We always try to be as transparent as possible, sharing our turnaround times, Budsie details, and more on our website and FAQ as well. In the meantime, continuing to message the designer working on your plush is the best way to get help! We're looking forward to finishing and sending the final Budsie your way once it's finished.

It took way too long
It took way too long. I ordered in late July and it’s almost October. I ordered 2 others from an Etsy store in Ukraine that arrived in half the time and looked way better. The head is also way too flimsy, there’s no support in the neck which wasn’t clear from the original pictures. Not real happy.

Hi Dylan!
We're sorry to hear that you're unhappy with your Budsie plushie and experience with us! We always try to be as transparent as possible by giving an estimated shipping date in the order confirmation email we send. We checked with our team and with our turnaround times your order was shipped earlier than expected overall! For your order, the Sneak Peek upgrade also adds time while our system waits for approval from the customer before preparing the plush for shipment.
We'd love to help with your plushie questions! If you could email us at [email protected], that would be very helpful!

Once in a lifetime plush maker
I've received my final plush which was a remake today.
I have to say across the 12 or so plushies I've ordered from this company, I am very, very impressed.
When they messed up; they not only offered to refund the embroidery fee but they also offered to give me a free remake instead; most other companies would've just refunded the embroidery fee and left it at that.
Occasionally, yes; they have missed the mark, with one of my friend's Broccoli plush ordered via Budsies (I bought for him via Gift Card) the quality was quite poor and disappointing; especially considering it was based on the same character I previously ordered. The plushies floret couldn't support the weight and was extremely oversized.
Overall, this company has always tried to do their absolute best to work with me, and it's unfortunate the journey ends here after 2+ years, but I'll be sure to keep them in mind for friends and I'm happy it's ended on a good note!

Custom Plush - Great Experience
We had Trustpilot create a custom plush on one of my daughter's cartoon characters they designed. They were communicative through the process and created a plush that my daughter really loves ! She takes it all the time when we travel because she likes it so much! There were a few elements of her design that would have been difficult to implement. They communicated this during the production process, and came up with workable alternatives that still looked nice. Would recommend!

Hi Greg!
Thank you so much for your kind words and review! We're so happy to hear that you and your daughter love how her Budsie plushie of her character came out! We're glad you also found our production process and updates helpful, we always want to keep you in the loop throughout the plushie creation process! Thanks again Greg! We hope your daughter's plush brings her joy for a long time to come. 💙

Updated response
I appreciate that Budsies has communicated with me throughout this process. However, I believe it’s important to provide additional context for anyone reading this review.
My disappointment is not based on one small design preference. It is based on the overall quality of the finished product compared to the artwork I submitted and the examples displayed on the Budsies website.
I invested months in this project, provided extensive design documentation, responded to every request from your team, and paid for premium upgrades to help achieve the best possible result. Despite that effort, the finished doll did not resemble my original character in the way I reasonably expected.
I also want future customers to understand that the “Sneak Peek” referenced in your response is an additional paid service, not a standard part of the custom doll process. In my opinion, customers who are already investing hundreds of dollars in a custom product should not have to purchase an additional review stage simply to help ensure the final product accurately reflects the artwork they submitted.
While I appreciate the offer to make further changes after delivery, I no longer have confidence that additional revisions would resolve the broader concerns I have regarding the overall design, craftsmanship, and quality. At this point, my trust in the process has been lost.
As the creator of original children’s book characters and intellectual property, I commissioned this doll to professionally represent my brand. Unfortunately, the product I received is not something I feel comfortable using to represent that brand.
I am sharing my experience so that other customers, authors, illustrators, and creators can make an informed decision before investing significant time and money into a custom product.
I genuinely hope Budsies reviews its quality control processes, consistency in execution, and customer experience so that future creators receive products that more closely reflect both the artwork they submit and the quality showcased in Budsies’ marketing materials.

Hi Kimyatta,
We're sorry to hear that you're still unhappy with your plush! Over the past 2 months our team has offered several ways to further help with your questions and plush to make it look as close to what you imagined as possible! We saw that our designers also reached out several different times during production to ensure they understood not only the vision you had for your plush, but your character as well. Our team takes it very seriously to ensure not only quality, but inclusivity with every plush we create! We believe if your order had a Sneak Peek added when it was placed, it would've been helpful to ensure you saw the plush before shipping and could request additional changes. To help post-delivery, our team has offered the chance to have your plushie changed and fixed to your liking free of charge. We'd love to continue to help and find a solution for you! If you could email us again at [email protected], that would be much appreciated! 💙

I am having an ongoing and very…
I am having an ongoing and very disappointing experience with Budsies.
I placed an order for a custom plush and paid nearly $197 through PayPal.
After accepting my order and taking my payment immediately, I was later told that they could not make my plush because of the “adult subject matter.” The item was simply a plushie based on a removed appendix, (it was supposed to be a cute cartoon looking plushie), and if that violated their policies, it should have been declined before charging my account.
What has been most upsetting is the complete lack of communication afterward.
I have now emailed them at least three times and called twice over the last 8 days asking about my refund, and I have received NO response. Meanwhile, they have kept my money.
I just had to open a PayPal claim to try to recover my funds, which never should have been necessary.
I respect that companies have the right to refuse projects that don’t fit their guidelines. What I don’t understand is charging a customer, canceling their order later, and then ignoring repeated requests for a refund.
I really can’t recommend this company based on my experience. I really hope to get my $196.19 refund soon.

Hi Susan!
We appreciate your review and feedback. Unfortunately, as our team mentioned, we could not proceed with the plushie because it was an image of a human body part and not a cartoon or digital image of a character we could work from. We checked with our support team, and they have communicated with you as quickly as possible! The longest window we have on record for a reply is 4 business days, and during that time we cancelled the order, which was also refunded to you on July 31st. It may take a few days for the funds to return to your account due to processing, but it should be headed your way! If you have any additional questions, feel free to email us at [email protected].

Prototype Approved, Production Order Did Not Match
I paid nearly $5,000 to Stuffed Animal Pros / Budsies for a 200-unit custom plush mascot production run.
I paid an extra ~$400 specifically for a physical prototype so I could review and approve a sample before authorizing full production. After several design revisions, I approved the final prototype and was told it would move into production.
I also paid ~$700 for expedited 5–7 day air shipping, which ultimately took over 5 months to arrive once the order was ready to ship.
When the bulk order finally arrived, it had multiple clear differences from the approved sample: missing design elements, changes to the collar construction, and noticeably “cheaper” finishing quality.
It’s hard not to wonder — if the final product wasn’t going to reflect the approved sample anyway, what exactly was the $400 prototype fee for?
The company initially acknowledged the issues and agreed a partial refund was appropriate, but then completely stopped responding. Multiple follow-ups over the next month+ went unanswered.
Only after I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Attorney General’s consumer protection office did the company then immediately respond and ultimately issue a partial refund.
Manufacturing errors can happen. What was most frustrating was paying extra for a prototype precisely to avoid surprises, receiving a production run that didn’t match the approved sample, and then having to escalate through formal channels to obtain a resolution.
To end up here after dedicating over 14 months to this project is beyond disappointing, and an expensive lesson learned.
Proceed with extreme caution if you’re considering a custom order with them.
Edit: The company responded, and I wanted to clarify a couple of points for anyone reading both sides. While I agree that the company did work hard to correct the errors, this effort did not begin until after I filed formal complaints with multiple consumer protection agencies. Prior to that, several messages over the course of over a month were ignored. A full timeline of events and screenshots of all correspondence supporting this were provided to the Better Business Bureau.
Also, 25% of the purchase price would have been $1203.75 like I requested, but I’ll gladly take the remaining $400 if that was their intent. The $100 shipping credit was issued 6 months ago in response to my complaint about the $700 shipping cost that was not disclosed until after all production costs were paid in full and it was too late to cancel the order.

Hi Corey, thank you for sharing your experience. We take feedback like this seriously and want to be fully transparent about what happened with your order.
This is a tough one, because we 100% don’t blame you for being frustrated, but our team also worked extremely hard to make this right for you.
The reason we start with bulk samples on all orders is to ensure alignment before mass production, and we always want to hold ourselves accountable for those rare occasions when there are deviations. For your specific order, we know there were a few issues, so we gave a partial refund of 25% of the purchase price, totaling $830, plus a $100 courtesy credit for shipping and a $100 credit toward future orders. You accepted that offer on June 15th, and we confirmed your mailing address and sent the check.
Regarding the shipping timeline, unfortunately, this order was held up in customs due to a random inspection. Once it was released, it got to you within 5 days. We understand how frustrating that is, and we had open lines of communication during the entire process.
That level of accountability, documentation, and active follow-through is what we always aim to provide at Stuffed Animal Pros, so it’s disheartening to see this type of review, but that doesn’t take away from your valid frustrations. If there are any remaining questions about your refund or order, please reach out to us directly at [email protected].
