If it allowed it, I would give this platform no stars. Upon my first appointment I was refused treatment but was told that someone would contact me if they determined otherwise. I never heard anything more. Yet, a payment of $95 was continuously taken out even though services were not being received. On multiple occasions and in multiple locations, I tried to cancel my subscription. I kept receiving the error: "Brightside has encountered an issue in downgrading your subscription, customer support has been notified." Yet, I was never contacted and money continued to be taken out. Upon contacting them, they claimed that they had not received any attempts at cancelation. They asked for me to kindly confirm if I wanted to proceed with cancelation, which I was being very kind about but standing firm in requesting cancelation and a refund. With no foul language or abuse of the agent. The customer support agent then changed the story to only one attempt had been made at canceling. She asked if I kindly wanted to proceed with cancelation and receive one month refund but they had taken out 2-3 months worth of money for services not rendered to me. Thankfully it has now been canceled as of May 21st after a long and grueling battle. But this company is a complete rip off. They will steal your money if you allow it!

I had a single telehealth appointment with the therapist I was matched with, which I assumed was an initial consultation. The therapist was slurring his words and either not listening or too incapacitated to do so. It was like speaking with someone in a foreign language. I returned to the site, refilled all my information, and requested a female therapist. I was matched with men. Twice. I contacted customer service about the therapist, waited five days with no response, followed up, and finally received a message saying I could find a new therapist through the portal. The marketing emails, however, kept hitting my inbox. "Schedule your next appointment!" When I tried to cancel my membership online, I was locked out. The password reset email never arrived. I had to call, wait on hold, and cancel by phone — at which point I shared my concerns about the therapist again. Now I've been billed — and so has my insurance — for this "appointment." Billing me for this session is like charging a restaurant customer for a meal made with rotten food. I am requesting a full refund.

If you’re looking for professional trustworthy, reliable, and helpful providers…you will NOT find it here. I’ve gone through multiple different providers having to keep requesting new ones because the ones for therapy were very unwelcoming and constantly trying to rush me out of the session. Now for the psychiatry ones, OH MY GOD the bull I went through is just unnecessary. Her name is SANDRA WALKER-LEE. She is just the worst. First thing, she’s incredibly rude, doesn’t understand how do her job, not to mention after our appointment she put in the system that I didn’t show up!!! And there is a $95 fee for that. Luckily I keep my card locked but I reached out to the Brightside team 4 times and to this day they still try to charge my card $95 and it happened months ago. Brightside is anything but reliable and professional and if you think this is only option, trust me, there are plenty more platforms that will take your insurance and get you the help you need. P.S Brightside, STOP CHARGING MY CARD YOU ARE NOT GETTING THAT MONEY.

Unqualified doctors from "For-profit" Schools that just take tuition for a piece of meaningless paper. You will be seen by a very unqualified "doctor" who will immediately begin prescribing medications from the lobbying team that pays them to push their drugs. This is a DANGEROUS operation with vastly inferior "doctors". My advice is to check the credentials of the doctors they are serving up to you. Many of them don't appear to even be based/operating in the US.

If I could give negative ZERO STARS. I totally would. The entire site does not offer transparency of their policies. Seems as if their policies are written in Pencil. I had the appointment. The psychiatrist didn’t have her camera on. She offered some lame excuse. I told her I was out of my medications, that I needed them as quickly as possible. I also told her all of my current medications and dosages. I also entered all of my medications in at intake. So it’s in my file. After an entire day my pharmacy did not receive any prescriptions. I sent a message to customer support and to the therapist. She did not respond. Customer support did and basically said, “ We’re sorry for any misunderstanding. Friendly reminder, the therapist has 24-48 hours to finish your appointment processing and submit your medications to your pharmacy. I replied with, “ You’re wording implies there was information offered on your site that explained this. Also that I needed to be reminded of something that was never available in the first place. Very unprofessional.” Their virtual assistant didn’t even offer this information. 3 days later, prescriptions are submitted to the pharmacy. The prescriptions were WRONG! the therapist also finally responded to my message about sending my medications as soon as possible and she said she was sorry for the delay there was a “glitch” in the system. Excuses for a second time. Do not waste your time and money here!!!

Extremely disappointing experience. Important information about treatment limitations was not clearly communicated during sign-up, which resulted in paying for a service that ultimately could not provide the type of care being sought. The provider assignment process was also frustrating, as there was little transparency or flexibility before appointments were scheduled. After canceling an appointment shortly after booking due to these issues, a $165 late cancellation fee was still charged with no meaningful resolution offered. Customer support was polite, but responses felt very policy-driven rather than patient-focused. For a mental healthcare platform, the overall experience felt unnecessarily stressful and lacking in compassion.

This was the most difficult experience ever. I made an appointment in an afternoon to be seen the next morning, which was not a 24 hour period. I cancelled my appointment 10 minutes after I made it. (They did not take my insurance) They want you to put a credit card on file BEWARE !!!!!!! They will charge that card for no reason. They charged me $165 for a late cancellation fee and it has been three days now and I still haven’t gotten my refund. There was never a 24 hour window from the time I made the appointment until when the appointment was supposed to be. There was NO LATE CANCELLATION!!!!!
