Thank you for sharing this feedback. Brightside Health only prescribes medication when appropriate and after a thorough clinical review. We do not prescribe controlled substances. Our approach to mental health treatment is evidence-adherent and grounded in compassion and empathy. Thank you for sharing this feedback. We know how important it is to have a positive interaction with one’s care team and apologize to anyone who did not have that experience. Brightside Health’s provider network is hand-selected and includes psychiatrists, physicians, and psychiatric nurse practitioners. Members are matched with the type of provider based on their individual needs. The provider will then work with the member on a personalized treatment plan that only includes medication when and if appropriate. Our Member Services Team is happy to assist any member who is interested in or requested to be reassigned to another provider. We appreciate you raising these important issues. Brightside Health’s services are considered “covered” by the insurance plans with which we are an in-network provider. As a result, the invoiced amount is determined by a member’s health plan, not by Brightside. We submit claims on a member’s behalf to their insurance provider, and they are charged for their portion of the cost share using the card on file once those claims have been processed by the insurance provider. This can be several weeks after a claim is submitted to an insurance plan. Based on a member’s specific insurance coverage, there may be a copay, a deductible, or coinsurance applied. We provide a good-faith estimate about any potential cost-share responsibilities that we are able to determine initially, but we always recommend members contact their insurance provider directly to verify coverage.
