While very friendly the doctor I was with did not review my chart prior to my visit. Thought I was being treated for x when I was treated for y. Did not know what medication I was on, and then did not call in my current prescription. But did call in the other one, that was not needed.

Thanks for sharing this—I'm really sorry for the confusion around your diagnosis, medications, and the prescription mix-up. That’s not the level of preparation or follow-through want to offer our members. If you'd like, we can reassign you to a clinician who’s a better fit for your needs. For privacy, we can’t discuss details here, but if you email [email protected]
our team will help right away.

Unreliable
Garbage! My therapist didn't show up for our 2nd appointment. Do I receive the No Show fee that she would? Of course not. I've found another provider and will never use this company again.

I sent multiple emails
I sent multiple emails. Didn’t receive a response for over a week. Wanted to cancel, but since I already paid, was locked into the month. It’s way too expensive and they didn’t care that I couldn’t afford it. Extremely disappointed. I’m done after August. Good riddance.

NOT FULL SERVICE PSYCHIATRIC CARE
Scam services. They ARE NOT A LEGITIMATE full service psychiatric company. They are very LIMITED in what they are LEGALLY ALLOWED to prescribe, and they aren't forthright about this, because they hope to charge your insurance for two appointments, before you find this out. They are relying on disappointing, ill informed drug addicts that are trying to get high, by scheduling two appointments, under false pretenses. This company can legally bill your insurance for two office visits this way, before the patient finds out that the services offered do not meet their psychiatric needs. They advertise like they can do more than services like HERS\HIMS because they accept insurance. Psychologist for therapy first, and then psychiatrist for meds, which is where they're going to fall short, and be unable to treat you, and tell you you have to go elsewhere. Immediately after I scheduled my appointment, I talked to my sister, who informed me of this. I hung up with her and was talking to somebody at brightside, within 10 minutes of scheduling my appt, in order to verify what medications they were allowed to prescribe, and then cancel my appointment. They are charging me the full amount that they would be paid by insurance, as the cancellation fee. $120 for therapy appt and $160 for medication management appt. I tried to speak to somebody in upper management, and I was refused any help further help. As a medical biller, coder and auditor, I know what they are legally allowed to do and not do as far as billing patients, and this is not legal. Furthermore, in a few weeks, I will be approved for disability, and Medicaid, which will create a whole other slew of violations for them to continue to try to bill me, and still no customer service resolution was found. I asked the customer service rep to please make a note on my account, of these things, but I doubt anything will happen, and I am quite sure they will continue to try to bill me illegally.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and understand how frustrating this must feel.
Brightside Health is committed to transparency and ethical billing practices. We clearly list the medications our psychiatric providers can prescribe on our website here and here, and we offer chat, email, and phone support before intake to answer any questions about treatment or prescribing limitations.
We also follow standard clinical intake procedures—beginning with a therapy or psychiatric evaluation—to determine whether our care model is the right fit. If we're unable to provide appropriate care, our clinicians will refer patients to a provider who can better meet their needs.
We’re sorry to hear there was confusion around cancellation and charges. Our support team is available to review account concerns in more detail. If you haven’t already, please reach out at [email protected], and we’ll make sure your concerns are reviewed by the appropriate team.
Thank you again for taking the time to share your concerns.

My schedule at work changed
My schedule at work changed, I went on the video call and told the lady I cant do the appointment so she changed it to the next day and I got charged $165 I could not cancel the appointment the day before nor take off from work. Also I'm under insurance. I do not get alot of income already. Very unprofessional company and only care about money ! I would not recommend.

All about money
Was a few minutes late for my therapy session and was told I was too late and could not do therapy that day. They Charged me $70. So not only did I not recieve help that day but it caused more frustration for me. Company is about money and not helping people.

We’re sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting this situation must have felt. Brightside Health has a late arrival policy to ensure our clinicians can provide consistent and timely care, but we recognize that missing a session—especially when you're just a few minutes late—can be incredibly frustrating. Our intention is never to add to anyone’s stress. While our policy outlines that a fee may apply for missed or late appointments, we encourage members to reach out to [email protected] if there were extenuating circumstances so we can review the situation further. We truly want to support our members in getting the care they need.

I was charged for missing an appointment that I didn’t miss. I was in the video call for myself for 20 minutes. Then I got charged for missing it. Can I give negative stars?
