I had to have my pet euthanized at the Overland Park location. It was a horrible experience. No personal touch, every single step we waited forever, and the vet herself did not even come see us.
No private area, no empathy, horrible waits while you're sobbing.
As if putting your pet down isn't bad enough, these people I would not wish on my worst enemy.
I was charged $125 for the doctor fee and never even met her.
Seriously - unless you have no other option, stay away.

We had an absolutely horrific…
We had an absolutely horrific experience. We took our dog there because it was time to put him down. He was in tremendous pain. The receptionists did NOT tell the vet our wishes. After waiting over 5 and half hours- the vet FINALLY contacts us. The receptionist had the nerve to tell me that I should give our dog up to a rescue shelter. "Lots of life left" Did not even bother to ask us questions about him how his quality of life. Just made it seem like we were trying to get rid of our dog. NOTHING could be further from the truth. We took him to another emergency vet the next day. The completely agreed with us it was the only humane thing to do. Broke our hearts. We had already said goodbye to him. We had to do it twice. They sent him home- he couldn't walk. He was incredible pain. He could't potty. He wasn't eating. I absolutely hate that his life ended that way. The receptionists never passed on our messages to the vet. They only passed judgement. It was completely cruel. I can not believe someone that claims to help animals could do something like this. We are heartbroken and this made things SO much worse. How dare they!!!!!!!!!!! Shame on them!~

BluePearl customer service agents lack…
BluePearl customer service agents lack compassion and are only about taking your money. They wanted to charge 4-6k for my cat that had trouble in la or and could not deliver babies. First they told me all the fetuses were dead and then when they gave my cat back to me said well the doctor heard 1 heartbeat but it probably won’t live long. They referred me to another vet and they took my cat in for surgery and it was not even half of what they tried to charge me.

BluePearl customer service agents lack…
BluePearl customer service agents lack compassion and are only about taking your money. They charged us 5K (!!) for a two night stay for my dog, and then sent us home with faulty glucose reading equipment. Even though we called within 24 hours they said that we’d have to pay AGAIN and battle the outside company ourselves for reimbursement! Nowhere on the invoices does it list other companies and I’m really disappointed. The receptionist repeatedly yelled at me and was very condescending when I questioned this accounting practice. Same with the manager. Find compassion for your pet elsewhere.

My bill with Blue Pearl was $ 24,482
My bill with Blue Pearl was $ 24,482. the worst part is that my dog had to be euthanized because of the mistakes of the hospital. When I went to get her ashes they took advantage of my grief and extra charge for $ 4,344, and handled me the invoices that I did not want even to see because my head was not in place. Please read this and do not bring your pet to this hospital: On September 23rd night I brought my dog for an emergency surgery GDV, Sasha's stomach was already swollen which could lead to death tissue-necrosis. She had surgery by Dr. Frame, and two days after she was released. That night she had a fever, and when I call the hospital the doctor did not consider it relevant and told me to keep her at home. The next morning, I took her back, and she had developed pneumonia (Due to the fever). She was hospitalized again, and continue until the next Tuesday when I received a call to let me know that Sasha had collapsed because she was leaking bacteria inside her stomach, due to the fact that in the first surgery the doctor did not remove the dead tissue, and now she had to go back to surgery or put her to sleep. I told them to do the surgery again to correct the mistake, and I was told that I had to pay again $ 7,000 for it; which was not fair at all because it was their mistake-negligence, but I did not want to say anything to get the best attention for her. The next day after the surgery, her incision got infected, so she continued in the hospital; the next Saturday I received a routine call from Dr. Trow and in her report, she told me that her protein was low and they may give her a transfusion of two units of plasma which was $ 892.0; however, she did not consider it necessary because the level will be low again soon. I wanted to give my dog the best possibilities to recover from the ordeal she was going through in the hospital, so asked her to do the transfusion. When I went to see her that Saturday night, she was not able to stand up and walk, the technicians brought her to the room and she was gasping for air and trembling, the next Sunday on my visit, I checked her gums and they were almost white, so I panic and took her to Leader hospital, where her condition got even worse, and the infection was progressing, so their advice was to take her back to Blue Pearl since they should be responsible for the incision, and at that point, it had to be opened again and cleaned which already was too much and I decided to put her to sleep. Days after I recovered a little from the grief for her unjustified loss, I went back to check the invoices, and I found that the hospital charged me $7,136 for the plasma transfusion instead of $ 892.0. They applied 8 times the same charge on that particular day of Dr, Trow call. When I complained about it, the answer was that it was due to the weight of my dog. I could not believe the dumb answer when the dose is only 10 mg/ Kg and her weight was 25 kg. I have been calling the hospital to get from Danielle the same answer "I already told you that it was due to her weight". I will take legal action against the hospital, and encourage anyone that considers joining me is more than welcome to send me a message.

Recently
Recently, I spent $500 having my dog's ear and eye infection diagnosed and treated at BluePearl. The vet prescribed oral antibiotics for the ear infection and recommended ear drops too. Sadly, BluePearl did not stock eardrop medication to take home for administration use. I asked if they would write Rx for eardrop to be filled online through PetMeds. They said "No." BluePearl does not do business nor communicate with PetMeds--even when BluePearl does not stock the medication for home use. I then asked if I could pick-up a hand written prescription for eardrops to be filled by a local pharmacy. They refused this request as well. Their answer: The dosage would not be the same. OMG, the personnel at this practice needs better customer service relations. Health professionals know that dosage for any medication is based mostly on weight; thus, medication volume can be adjusted from human sue to pet administration. Vets take an oath to "use their skills and knowledge for the benefit of animal health, animal welfare, public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge." Obviously, the BluePearl practice and personnel failed to live up to their sworn oath. Sadly the eardrop medication was recommended by BluePearl, but they would not work with the customer in securing alternative arrangements in obtaining medication that was prescribed by them in the first place. Hopefully, after receiving this review, maybe the personnel will have a change of heart and live up to their sworn oath. If they make alternative arrangement for securing eardrops, I will be glad to re-write this review. Stay tuned.

Twice in 2020 I we’ve had pet…
Twice in 2020 we’ve had pet emergencies. One resulted in having to make the tough choice no pet owner wants to make, the other resulting in hospital admittance and emergency surgery. Fortunately, our family has not needed much in the way of emergency pet care services and have little experience to go by but can state in comparison, the best experience has been with Blue Pearl Pet Hospital. Both the disposition and communications had by all staff we came in contact with and the services provided to our pets were excellent. We were informed of wait times, given estimates, explained care plan, all our questions obliged. I felt confident leaving my pet in the care of this hospital. I am thankful they are here.

I have never been more horrified by any…
I have never been more horrified by any experience like the experience I have had at Blue Pearl. The two times I’ve used them (one in Brooklyn and one by this location) I have been treated like dirt. They have been horribly rude and horribly unprofessional. For people that deal in animal emergencies, you’d think they would focus on customer service. Not them. They should be shut down as a practice. Do not go here.
