They are the rudestvet I have ever seen .They don't deserve one star.My dog was very sick The temps were 109 degree ,they have you sit outside until they get enough gumption to get their ride but out to ask a few questions and take your money.Another couple was waiting for them and said they were at another blue pearl just earlier and and waited an hour before being spoken to .They told me to call poison control and get a case number to give them before they would see my dog.my phone was almost dead and I didn't have a charger, but I called poison control, they said it will cost 65.dollars for that call. The tech should have told me about that charge . I called into the office and said i want my dog back and my money. I did get both back.

No communication/no urgency
My beautiful 11 yr old diabetic Himalayan cat was put to sleep Tuesday night up at Blue Pearl Hospital in Oklahoma City, Ok. Please don't take your babies to this place. They don't communicate well and there is no urgency in treatment. My cat hadn't eaten since the prev Wed morning and they knew that. A cat who doesn’t eat for more than 48 hours is at risk for developing hepatic lipidosis, also known as fatty liver disease, which can be fatal if left untreated. I had addressed my fear of this to them which they should have already known. They admitted her on Thursday morn at 3 am and I advised them I thought she might have pancreatitis. They asked if I wanted an abdominal ultrasound and I declined not knowing why she would need that. I had a previous cat that was diagnoised with pancreatitis using a blood test. They told me they were going to run some blood tests so I assumed this would be included. They sent her home the next afternoon with her only eating a small amount and without diagnosing what was wrong. They advised me her blood work was ok so I assumed she didn't have pancreatitis after all. I took her back Saturday evening when she still wouldn't eat and they just hooked her back up to an IV. It was at that time that the E.R. doctor advised me that they now diagnois pancreatitis with ultrasound. Per their own website they should be running both tests. She didn't get a feeding tube until late Sunday afternoon after an ultrasound that could have been done on Friday if someone had told me that's how they now diagnose pancreatitis. Then they couldn't start feeding her until 9 pm that night. Too little, too late. 108 hours after her last half way decent meal. Now in addition to the pancreatitis that took forever to be diagnosed due to lack of communication, her liver was now failing. I also asked if she was getting anything for pain and the Dr said no. I asked why and she said because "she didn't think she was in pain!" This wasn't about what she thought. Cats hide pain. A cat in pain will not eat or drink. She needed pain meds. Tuesday afternoon she started having trouble breathing and the Dr couldn't determine the cause. I googled it and it's a symptom of the pancreatitis. Why didn't she know that? Why wasn't I told when I dropped her off and declined the ultrasound that this is now how they diagnois pancreatitis? Why wasn't a feeding tube done on Friday instead of sending her home when she still wasn't eating well and they hadn't diagnosed what was wrong? Why wasn't it done on Saturday when I brought her back? Why wasn't she given anything for pain? I trusted them to take care of her and they failed. Now I'm left with a HUGE vet bill and a dead cat and I feel like I let her down. Why should I have to insist on them doing procedures that they should know need to be done. I'm not a vet and that's what I'm paying them for and very well I might add. Don't ever assume someone knows what they are doing. The ER doctors that saw her and the 3 critical care Doctors that treated her were all incompetent. None of them showed any urgency in her case what so ever. I don't think they even care. It's just all about the money. When my son addressed his concern of what wasn't done with the Dr, she didn't want to discuss that. She just wanted to address her current condition and If we wanted to put her down. I don't know how they can sleep at night. I will never bring another one of my animals back to this hospital. My son and I are heart broken. She was his support cat. He is a quadriplegic in a power wheel chair and she was his everything. They had a bond like I have never seen before and probably never will never see again. It's going to take a long time to get over this if ever. I'm writing this review in hopes it will save someone else the heartache and financial stress that this has caused us. This is just unacceptable. We will always love you beautiful girl. You will live in our hearts and our memories forever. Rest in peace my sweet baby angel. Mamma tried to save you.

Great experience in Atlanta, Georgia
After reading all the horrible reviews left by pet owners, I was scared to take my Golden. But I have a great vet that highly recommended the Howell Mill Rd. Atlanta, Ga. or the Sandy Springs office. He had visited and toured there several times and said he would not hesitate to take his own pets. So in November, 2020 my Golden had TPLO surgery on his right knee. From the first visit to the last the staff was excellent. Dr. Tulipan did a great job and he healed very well. Of course it cost me almost $5000 but they are a specialty vet service like human doctors. They have the equipment and training that local vets do not have. I am so sorry for all the owners that had such bad experiences where they went. I don't know what I would do if I could not take my pet back for his second knee surgery this summer. Just so you know, it was my vet of 12 years that found the knee problems, not Blue Pearl.

This place is not always pet oriented…
This place is not always pet oriented or customer oriented. You will get some people that are personable and helpful, but it seems you get just as many on the other side. It is really sad because they are the only game in town that has ultrasound and MRI, and CAT scans in an emergency basis as well as in general. But some of the managers and employees can be insensitive and difficult, at a time when you are trying to help your dog. The littlest logical disagreement or opposing logical opinion can set them off like I'm there to serve them and take care of them. Immature in a lot of ways, and incapable of being compassionate and understanding of someone's pet that is sick. Some of these people I really don't think have a heart. It is extremely difficult if not impossible at times when your pet is suffering and then you have to deal with someone that is an idiot but believes they are special. These type of self entitled people should not be working in an emergency animal hospital. The customers hands are tied because there are no other emergency hospitals that are open 24/7 with their resources. If I was dealing with someone else's animal and I couldn't give them 100% of everything I had, I would go look for other work.....because I wouldn't be able to sleep at night. I would not suggest anyone not go there because of the equipment they have, and they do have some good doctors. A lot of times for the sake of your animal, it is a good idea to have these tests done for their well being (ultrasound, cat scan, MRI), but it would be nice if Blue Pearl would hire less combative, always in the right, difficult to deal with people, when others that have animals that are sick and suffering, or possibly dying, don't have to deal with their very high maintenance personalities. They have a customer relations department, but they don't do anything. There is a problem form the CEO down. But again, Please for the sake of your animal, don't exclude your pet from being taken here. The equipment they have could definitely be useful in saving your pets life or stopping their suffering, because of the information these machines can give. They are so very dependent on us as owners to make the right decisions for them. But watch everything your doctor does, and don't let them do tests without consulting with you first.

I feel robbed
I am disappointed in the overall level of care that I received in Jacksonville FL. My complaints are not with any particular staff member (Every staff member I did interact with was extremely personable and professional) however there was a huge deficit in overall communication and care for me as a pet owner. I brought my dog to the ER due to extreme respiratory concerns and fever that were occurring overnight after not improving from a visit to his regular vet.
I brought him in on a Saturday and was given two options: (1) to have him seen and stabilized until Monday to be seen by internal medicine or (2) have him discharged and he wouldn't be able to be seen by internal medicine for another week. Because of his condition I chose to have him stay the weekend with the promise of having him seen and cared for by internal medicine throughout the following week. He was seen by internal medicine for less than 48 hours and then the doctor had a day off and then called out sick right before Easter weekend and would not be there to follow up on all of the tests that were ordered. I paid $2,000 each day he was there and paid just shy of $10,000 for him to stay there a week with internal medicine but he was only seen less than 2 days. Everyone I spoke to during the doctors absence said that they didnt know much because they weren't internal medicine. My dog was released the following Friday and had not improved and passed away that Sunday. I am devastated.
During his intake I was told that I would be given at least two calls per day either from the doctors, nurses or techs. During the intake call I was also given an email address to send a video of his symptoms for the doctor to review. I received a response later that evening stating that they had no record of my dog being a patient there. I had to call and have this corrected. When I finally spoke with the ER vet, he had not been provided the video and I, again, had to resend the video and call.
One of my major complaints is that although I was promised at least two phone calls per day, I only received 3 phone calls initiated from the hospital during the entire week that my dog was in their care. There were two days where I would call in at different times of the day to try and get an update and I would be transferred from the front desk and someone would pick up the phone and immediately hang up. I went over 24 hours without a single update although I was attempting to call. The internal medicine specialist had also not seen the video because it was not in his patient file (causing her to not know the true extent of his symptoms) and I had to resend it. The doctor sent labs and said she would review them and the video and get back to me the following day. However the doctor then called out sick. So then my dog was seen by a critical care specialist, in her absence. Again this doctor also had not seen the video because it STILL was not uploaded in his file.
For over $2000/day, I do not find this acceptable patient care. I am SOOOO disappointed

Back in December of 2020 I was referred…
Back in December of 2020 I was referred to blue pearl by banfield. My 14 year old dog jet had been diegnosed with glocoma. He also has a heart murmur. After charging 500.00 for the visit. Said drops wouldn't help but for 5000.00 they would remove the eye. Thank God my gut told me to get a second opinion. Because the vet I have now put him on drops in his eyes three times a day and he is doing great. And told me at his age and with a heart murmur he would of never made it through a surgery.

I was referred to blue pearl in Irvine…
I was referred to blue pearl in Irvine CA to get a neurological assessment on my dog, Yugi, to determine if he would benefit from canine rehab. He is a rescue dog that has difficulty walking. He is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had and tries so hard. The vet there said the best way to determine the origin of his problem was to do an MRI that would cost $3000 to $4000. I told the vet that I could not afford the MRI. He then suggested that they could do 4 X-rays for $300 to $400 that might help determine the cause of his mobility problems. The actual charge was $577 for 4 X-rays and my total bill for the assessment was a whopping $803. The so-called specialist told me my dog had a “peg leg” and the cause was still unknown after the X-rays and his examination. He said that rehab might have some benefit for Yugi. I wasn’t show the X-rays or given a written assessment. This place is a rip-off and all they care about is $. After reading other reviews I’m grateful that at least they did not hurt or injure my sweet dog. I would never recommend this place to anyone.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE READ THIS…
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE READ THIS FIRST !
I took my dog dashound there on 4-5-21 for stomach issues from not going to the bathroom for a few days.
They did a review and said it was Pancreatitis. They assigned her meds and I brought her home. After a day she starting to have black runny stool and a small lump on the back of her neck. I called to have her brought back to be re examined. They told us that they would like to keep her for 48 hrs to treat her there with meds and monitor her better. They charged me 3600.00$ which was to also include a test of the lump on her neck. They said it was just a fatty tissue and not to be alarmed. However when I got home with her 48 hours later I immediately found another mass on the back of her left leg and the bottom of her stomach was all red and irritated. She wasn't home 5 minutes and I brought her back to be rechecked. How can they NOT notice these issues and still say she was good to come home? With another exam they then said it was cancer. Something was missed or not checked like they said they did and wanted to just pass another dog through there system and get a big pay out for it. The waiting time for each visit was approx. 5-8 hrs each time. Now I have no choice but to but a loved one down cause of there mistakes or not really testing the mass on her neck the first time like they said. From the 4 visits that I was there I had noticed more dogs being put down than being saved. There are much better choices and cheaper specialty vets in the area. God Bless our DIXIE GIRL she is and always will be in our hearts for ever.
